I am working on a maintenance project to clean up :Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images ↗. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE ↗). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
{{para|image|{{var|<nowiki>thumb|Some image caption ↗</nowiki>}}}}
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
{{para|image|{{var|SomeImage.jpg}}}}.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as {{para|caption|{{var|Some image caption}}}}. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! - Consider participating in the Wikidata project Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings ↗.
- Consider exploring the paintings at the Barnes Foundation ↗ at {{url|https://www.barnesfoundation.org}}. The Barnes has many paintings not well covered in art history because the museum was isolated both literally & figuratively until relatively recently. See the collection ↗ section for examples.
- Since you have a username that is in Korean, I would encourage you to add items about Korean paintings & prints to Wikidata, & to write or expand any Wikipedia articles about notable Korean artists & art.

:User:Ceoil, I see this might have something to do with your advice up above. Wikidata doesn't show infobox material on Wikipedia unless there is a source added, so I'm curious what this has to do with verifiability. I've been told this before by others, but I still don't get it. All of the wikidata has to be verifiable for the infobox to display the info. Viriditas (talk) 03:28, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

::::Hi both and yes I did advise 하늘이푸른날. In my opinion local en-wiki infoboxes are preferred as they give local (ie en-wiki) control to the extent of parameters, the image size, what is linked and not, and the ability to add citations. My two main issues are that any changes are off en-wiki and don't show up on my watchlist, and that, as not being a nerd, I don't speak wiki-data, don't wish to, and don't know the community, so any disputes are beyond me. This logic has been the long-term concensus and status-quo with VA articles for many years. Put it another way, Viriditas, I fear I can't control it, can't see the people who do, and to be frankly honest, don't like the way it renders (ie they are kinda ugly, but have no ability to contribute to the aesthetics).
