Problems with upload of File:Toro in 2021.jpg

Thanks for uploading ''':File:Toro in 2021.jpg ↗'''. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link ↗, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions ↗.

License tagging for File:Langeliers with the A's in 2024.jpg

Thanks for uploading :File:Langeliers with the A's in 2024.jpg ↗. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags ↗ to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list ↗, click on this link ↗, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions ↗. Thank you for your cooperation.<!-- User:OrphanBot/untagged-new --> --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:31, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

could you possibly explain

your edit at, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dominic_Serventy&diff=prev&oldid=1254892608 ?
It would be very useful to understand why and how you reached at that particular edit. Thanks. JarrahTree 08:43, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

:I only thought it would be more straightforward to just put ''Australian'' but I may have removed too much, I'm just explaining that I thought it would look more organized and clearer. Nothing against your style or anything like that. 9mm.trilla (talk) 08:47, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

John Brown "evangelist"

On the article for John Brown ↗, you changed ↗ the lead sentence from "John Brown (May 9, 1800 – December 2, 1859) was a prominent leader in the American abolitionist movement in the decades preceding the Civil War." to "John Brown (May 9, 1800 – December 2, 1859) was an American evangelist who was a prominent leader in the American abolitionist movement in the decades preceding the Civil War." I was wondering what your reasoning for this was (considering MOS:LEADREL ↗). OPERATOR571 (talk) 20:10, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

:I only changed the lead sentence based on the "evangelical Christian" description of his beliefs, and mainly from this source: https://abolitionist-john-brown.blogspot.com/2010/11/q-what-were-john-browns-beliefs-my.html
:Although I also did add-in the generic "evangelist" to make the lead sentence more in-line with historical figures (i.e. "was an American [solider, abolitionist, minister, politician]...") 9mm.trilla (talk) 21:26, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
::I feel like the word "evangelist" has a notably different connotation (at least in the modern vernacular) than "evangelical [Christian]." Additionally, based on "As in the body of the article itself, the emphasis given to material in the lead should roughly reflect its importance to the topic..." (MOS:LEAD ↗), I think that that should not be the first identifier for him. In my opinion, it is better formatted with the information about his religiosity being introduced in the second paragraph. OPERATOR571 (talk) 03:14, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
:::Check the John Brown (abolitionist) ↗ page for update on this. If you want to do the "[person] was a [nationality] [profession] who [did something]" format for the page, I think that it would be better to pick something more accurate and relevant than evangelist. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Chuck Knox ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Juniata ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. <small>(Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)</small>

"American former college football coach"

9mm.trilla, I noticed a bunch of your recent edits to college football coach bio articles, like Mike Ayers ↗. The opening of the lead should read "American former college football coach", not "former American college football coach", as one's nationality doesn't retire! 25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia ↗. I noticed that your recent edit to :Dennis Allen (American football) ↗ did not have an edit summary ↗. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief ↗.

The edit summary field looks like this:

'''Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make.''' With a Wikipedia account ↗, you can give yourself a reminder by setting {{myprefs|3|check={{int:tog-forceeditsummary}}}}, and then click the "{{int:saveprefs}}" button.

Hey there

Hi 9mm. Cool name. I think we agree on certain things .. but I was just wondering if you spoke to Dissident93 .. personally? It goes a long way if you reach out to someone. We're all cool here, but if you have problems in the future, I'll help out. Not a problem. All for the good of the site, you know what I mean. Bringingthewood (talk) 03:02, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

:Thanks, Bringingthewood, I did reach out to him and I did some "self-reflecting" on my part and went through revisions showing that "professional" applied to their current teams. It was mostly a misunderstanding and my tidbit to want standardized lede sentences, but hey I appreciate your thoughts on the matter. 9mm.trilla (talk) 03:11, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

::I hear you, 100%. I had a feeling you were a person that I could reach out to. There are so many ins and outs with editing here, your head will spin. Good bunch of people though. Very helpful. Any help or wanting to talk about something, I'm here. Bringingthewood (talk) 03:20, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

:::Thank you. Too kind, but very much appreciated! I've been in the same boat, trust me. I can't answer most questions here, but I'll try to find them. ;) Hope we stay in contact and thanks again. John. Bringingthewood (talk) 03:30, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''climate change ↗''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit <strong>carefully and constructively</strong>, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
