Please do not create hoaxes on Wikipedia, as you did at :Cyclone Gulab ↗. Doing so is considered to be vandalism ↗ and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. Repeated vandalism may result in the '''loss of editing privileges ↗'''.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Elo rankings

Hi Abhishek,

first of all, thanks for taking over the monthly updates for the FIDE ratings and rankings of the top players! I’d been doing this for several years, and it’s nice to see someone else taking care of it :-).

Two things:

Joriki (talk) 01:59, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

:Thank you for your kind message and helpful feedback, Joriki. I too ensured that the ratings and rankings were updated in time, and I look forward to continue sharing this responsibility with you in future.
:Regarding my latest update, it was done rather hurriedly, so I did not fix the ranking inaccuracy that was caused by an incorrect method I opted for, which consisted of obtaining rankings through the '''Advanced search''' section of rankings, which had incorrectly sorted players with same ratings. Your suggestion of the Java code, which I hadn't noticed myself earlier, is extremely helpful for avoiding such errors, and I will look forward to make use of it from now for better outcome.
:
:I will also be more mindful in identifying each player who has attained their peak rating / ranking in the latest ranking list and update at once. I really value your continued efforts in this work, and I will try to provide my support more effectively going forward. Abhishek.5678 (talk) 08:46, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

FIDE peak ratings

Hello Abhishek,

I noticed you have been updating peak ratings for a lot - even lesser-known chess players. I was just wondering how you know which players have hit a new peak in the latest month? Do you manually check or is there something you use that tells you this?

Thanks, GeorgeMHall (talk) 07:31, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

:Thank you for asking that, GeorgeMHall. Nothing really unique I do, I just simply check the rating list (women or juniors where many lesser-known players are visible) from one device, and on another I find the article of any player from the list whom I feel might have reached a new peak rating. Then after seeing their rating crossing the previous peak, I would update instantly.
:More thanks to you for having created articles of lot such players that I could find. I really value your work and I will continue to update these articles frequently. Abhishek.5678 (talk) 08:33, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

Roman Dehtiarov

Hi Abhishek, in the Roman Dehtiarov ↗ article, you've cited his university's website as a source for his Ukrainian Championship win in 2024. I'm interested in contributing to chess articles in the future, so I'm just wondering if we can use such websites, as they are primarily not chess-related. Also, please tell me if there were any reasons to remove additional details, such as points scored.

Thanks, Coolninjagamer (talk) 11:58, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

:Thank you for asking, Coolninjagamer. Yes you can cite such websites that basically reports about completed events or provide biographical information about any player, but they should be safe and accessible to anyone.
:Regarding the removal of points scored, oh I did that accidentally as I was editing at same time when you added those details. When I couldn't publish my edit the first time, I copied my changes that included older text without your added details and I published it again instantly. Good that you restored them yourself, and its indeed better to add such details to expand the information in an article. Keep it up with such contributions. Abhishek.5678 (talk) 13:10, 22 April 2026 (UTC)
::Seen, thanks Coolninjagamer (talk) 13:21, 22 April 2026 (UTC)
