Request regarding the cable street article

On the Battle of Cable Street ↗, I see you cite the book ''Battle for the East End'' a fair few times. I wanted to look at the source text a bit more but realised there's no page being cited on the citations for the book in the article.

One suggestion I'd make to help improve the article is making use of template:harvp ↗, as it allows you to refer to the same source, but with different citations pointing at different pages or quotes. I found it really helpful whilst making Housing in Vienna ↗ if you'd like an example of it in use. Happy to help you with it if you'd like! Good work on the article so far Bejakyo (talk) 23:01, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

:Hi, I do hope to make some more contributions to that article and would be happy to give that a go. It's not something I've done before but I imagine its probably not too bad once I've tried it once or twice.AlasdairDaw (talk) 18:08, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Same as above

Hi AlasdairDaw, I noticed your the main contrib on Battle of Cable Street ↗. I just started looking through some academic sourcing about it and realise it's a fascinating yet complex topic. The reason I'm reaching out is as I'm currently working on the Far-right politics in the United Kingdom ↗ article and the battle has yet to be summarised into it. I figured it could be either in the BUF section, or it's own subsection, but either way it's definitely in need of including, likely summarised into the lead as well. If you are busy no worries I'll get round to it eventually, but thought I'd ask seeing that you're active. Regards, CNC (talk) 18:28, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @CNC, thanks, I'd be happy to. I'll try to provide something simple in the short to medium term (if you don't get there first).AlasdairDaw (talk) 16:25, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks, yeh a paragraph or two would make sense I think. CNC (talk) 18:59, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
::Just to say personally, thank you :) I reduced cable street to a sentence in the lead (trying to summarise everthing in the opening paragraph ↗ is not easy), but otherwise I'd say you added the appropriate weight to BUF section. As far as I've read on the subject, BUF is mainly known for cable street, not much else. Happy to be corrected on that though. Kind regards, CNCin solidarity ↗ (talk) 20:54, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
