Question from Gordon.m.phillips (18:58, 22 October 2025)
Hello,
Question from Micah yoder (15:19, 18 May 2026)
Hello, hope you are doing well, how do i edit --Micah yoder (talk) 15:19, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
:{{yo|Micah yoder}} There's a great guide to this here β; let me know if you have any questions! '''AviationFreak'''π¬ β 04:41, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from Vipershark5 (14:19, 20 May 2026)
I have been trying to edit the Chicago White Sox roster 2026 page with no success. Specifically, I am trying to correct two incorrect Coaches jersey numbers listed on the page. Walker McKinven wears Number 99, page has no number listed. Matt Wise is listed as Number 53, should be 83. This is driving me nuts! LOL --Vipershark5 (talk) 14:19, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
:{{yo|Vipershark5}} Hi! Hope I can help out here, but I'm not sure about the details of your edit - based on the info here β, McKinven wears 28 and Wise does wear 53. If you're able to source your changes, the edits can be made at {{tl|Chicago White Sox roster navbox}} and {{tl|Chicago White Sox roster}}. If you go to those pages and select "edit source", it should be clear how to change the numbers listed (though let me know if you have trouble). Editing the {{tl|Chicago White Sox roster}} page will change what's shown on the 2026 Chicago White Sox season β page, but both templates listed above should be edited together. Let me know if you have any questions! '''AviationFreak'''π¬ β 21:59, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
:I know what the official white sox page says. It is incorrect. Coach Matt Wise wears Number 83, not 53. Number 53 is now worn by Pitcher Brandon Eisert. https://www.vecteezy.com/editorial/sports/mlb/chicago-white-sox-media-day-300666/chicago-white-sox-bullpen-coach-matt-wise-poses-77277464
:Coach Walker McKinven wears Number 99, not 28. Number 28 is worn by Outfielder Evenson Pereira. https://frontpage.gcsu.edu/node/24160
:This seems so simple to understand. Two active players/coaches cannot wear the same number.
:I have also personally witnessed televised games and have seen these jersey numbers. ~2026-30387-61 β (talk) 23:09, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
::Ah - yeah, that's frustrating. Unfortunately, Wikipedia has a policy against including this information β if no reliable source β has published it. That means we get things wrong on rare occasion, but there's at least a paper trail and we can indicate that we're only as good as what's published. If you're concerned about getting this fixed, the best route might be to contact the MLB or the White Sox and ask about correcting the official source. Wikipedia is beholden to official sources of information. '''AviationFreak'''π¬ β 04:16, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from Department195 (17:50, 13 June 2026)
I have an edit request for the 2020 United States presidential election page. Can someone edit this 2016 to 2020 county swing map to make it look like the 2020 to 2024 county swing map to ensure that every county and county equivalent is covered.

:{{yo|Department195}} It's not totally clear to me what you're asking for. You may want to place a message on the article's talk page β or at the American politics wikiproject β. '''AviationFreak'''π¬ β 12:55, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from RubyMist (02:20, 14 June 2026)
How would you be able to tell if somethingβs fair use? Likeβ¦ when so many stores sell that type of cover but Iβm not sureβ¦ --RubyMist (talk) 02:20, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
:{{yo|RubyMist}} Fair use is complicated, I've never liked the process here since so much of it feels subjective. If there's a specific item you're wondering about I'd recommend reading over this page β and (if that doesn't answer your question) asking on relevant talk pages. Question from TheBrokenHDD (14:46, 22 June 2026)
Hello! I'm wondering, is it good etiquette to reference a product's official support page, or should a third-party source be sought? For example, in the Xbox Series X/S article, I've added a reference to the Share button remapping capability under the Controller section, citing Xbox Support. --TheBrokenHDD (talk) 14:46, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
:{{yo|TheBrokenHDD}} Generally, WP:Independent sources β are preferred. Sources from a product's manufacturer, for instance, have an incentive to promote their product. Sometimes, this promotion leads to claims that are untrue or not well-substantiated. '''AviationFreak'''π¬ β 13:02, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Creating a Page When you are related to the subject
I did try to create an article about My father. Spencer Chapman. He was a TV Production designer with over 50 credits on his IMDB Page, one of which is Doctor Who, as he was Ray Cusick's assistant when the Daleks were first created (He would receive the same Β£100 payment Ray received). This required him to do much of the draughting of designs. He worked on the Daleks as a Production Designer the following year on what was the first Doctor Who series to be filmed partly on location. Ray Cusick who he worked as an assistant does have a Wikipedia page
Later in the 60s he worked on programmes such as Z-Cars, The Forsythe Saga which were among the most popular.
He had a number of productions banned during his career; Son of Man being one (on the life of Jesus Christ), Care of Time (about a Middle East ruler invading a neighbouring smaller country and Saddam Hussain invaded Kuwait so it was Politically sensitive)
So biased I may be but I do think he qualifies for a Wikipedia Page, but my relationship is part of the problem as I am not independent. The other is that what I know is more than what might be in the public domain , so getting arrested by the Police for putting Dalek symbols on the Trafalgar Square Lions, So is there someone who can write that page with me so that it does become the independent article that Wikipedia requires. Paulspencerchapman (talk) 12:00, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
:{{yo|Paulspencerchapman}} Wikipedia has a place that's great for new users or users with a conflict of interest β (such as yourself) to create articles. That space is over at Articles for Creation β; if you create a page there an experienced user will review it and either approve or decline it (declines can usually be resubmitted if improvements are made). Let me know if you run into any issues. As far as you knowing more than is publicly known, the relevant policy is at this page β. Facts in Wikipedia articles should be backed up by reliable sources β, so anything in an article you write would need to be verified elsewhere in a place you can point to. Happy to help if you have any questions! '''AviationFreak'''π¬ β 17:39, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Kastine augak (18:29, 5 July 2026)
Hello mentor im planing on writing an article about a person so help me --Kastine augak (talk) 18:29, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
:{{yo|Kastine augak}} Hi! The first step is determining whether the subject of your article satisfies WP:NBIO β. If so, head to WP:AFC β for information on how to start writing the article. Let me know if you have any questions along the way. '''AviationFreak'''π¬ β 19:47, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
