Your closure at Talk:Disney Channel (Europe, Middle East and Africa)#Requested move 13 December 2024 ↗

Hey, I just wanted to bring up your closures at Talk:Disney Channel (Europe, Middle East and Africa)#Requested move 13 December 2024 ↗; this probably should've been relisted to allow for further discussion.

If you look at the rationale, you'll see that the nominator pinged another editor, specifically asking for the participation of somebody whom they knew would support their request based on their participation in a previous RM. This is a textbook case of WP:CANVASSING ↗. Discounting that editor's canvassed participation, the request had only one other participant expressing support, and another one expressing oppose, so no consensus yet. RachelTensions (talk) 15:16, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

:The move was in accordance with the guideline at WP:NCBC#Disambiguation ↗. As the community consensus is reflected in the guideline, this was an easy close regardless of the canvassing. Bensci54 (talk) 13:10, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

Line A1 Athens Suburban Railway FIX

Hi Bensci54, thank you for your edits for Line A2 (Athens Suburban Railway) and Line A3 (Athens Suburban Railway), much appreciated. Can I ask if you can do the same for Line A1 (Athens Suburban and Regional Railway), renaming it Line A1 (Athens Suburban Railway) in line with the naming of A2 & A3? Thank you, and have a lovely day --<span style="background-color:green;color:white">✠ Emperor of Byzantium ✠</span> <span style="color:black;font-size:80%;">(talk)</span> 13:43, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

Move comment

Re this edit comment ↗: First -- good move, and it seems consistent with the renaming shown at {{section link|https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Foreign_relations_of_Palestine#Requested_move_13_January_2025}}. However, can you please do some of the other cleanup work such as reworking the LEAD. Thanks! <span style='color:DarkOrange'>'''Tigger'''</span>'''Jay'''&thinsp;<span style="font-size:85%;color:Purple">(talk)</span> 18:07, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

:It looks like someone else already did it! Anyways, my impression has been that post-move cleanup is generally only required by the PM in closing RMs, not TRs. On review, though, I have not found too much evidence supporting this impression. While WP:RMNAC ↗ does indicate that in cases of a non-admin closure resulting in a technical move request, it is the requester who is expected to do the cleanup, it doesn't say much either way regarding technical moves for other reasons. Bensci54 (talk) 18:03, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
::I agree that it is sometimes vague. I think the reason I suggest doing it is because often TRs are not handled while the requester is still online, leaving articles in sometimes messy states while waiting for the requester to even realize the change has been performed. For certain things that look quite obviously “odd“ or “wrong” to a regular reader, unaware of the page move, I would personally suggest that some good post-move cleanup is helpful and beneficial to the project, even if not necessarily required. Also, because that is what was modeled to me in the past, even when I explicitly stated that I’d do the cleanup work in the RMTR that I requested. <span style='color:DarkOrange'>'''Tigger'''</span>'''Jay'''&thinsp;<span style="font-size:85%;color:Purple">(talk)</span> 06:27, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Lockdown (2006) ↗

FYI I've retargeted this back to the disambiguation page - the entire point of that move request was to not do partial disambiguations, so swinging to the other partial disambiguation is not helpful. And the 2016 case was with what is now Lock Down (song) ↗. * Pppery * it has begun... 22:37, 25 February 2025 (UTC)

Template:R to disambiguation page ↗

For the discussion we participated in ↗, using Desmos, I calculated that the anticipated outcome of the discussion is clearly not going to change from '''Oppose''', given the average votes per day, the current votes, and counting votes prefixed with "strong" as 2. Feel free to close the discussion now. '''Faster than Thunder (talk &#124; contributions ↗)''' 00:57, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

:I saw that you went ahead and closed this yourself, despite having taken an oppose stance. Generally only ''uninvolved'' editors may close discussions. It's improper to both vote in a discussion and also close it. I would suggest reverting your closure and letting an uninvolved editor close it. Bensci54 (talk) 13:37, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

Requests to revert undiscussed moves

Hi you've recently moved my request to under '''Requests to revert undiscussed moves''' here ↗. This might have caused the request not to be handled as quickly as it might have been under '''Uncontroversial technical requests'''. I usually move around an article under different names to cover all the different permutations a topic name can take, and at the end move it back to the original. But sometimes the move gets blocked, and I have to make a requested move, and sometimes it doesn't! Do you have any idea why this happens? Also, I wonder what your recommendations for covering name permutations of a given topic might be, so it wouldn't involve making unnecessary requests to page movers ↗, as such processes are pretty much uncontroversial. Xpander (talk) 07:41, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

:Non-page movers can only move a page back on top of where it came from, and only if no one else (including a bot which has fixed a double-redirect, which was the case here) has edited the redirect in the mean time. Bensci54 (talk) 16:07, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

American Heritage School (Florida)

Hi Bensci54, I work for American Heritage Schools. Thank you for relisting our request to rename the page. It's been over a week without any new comments - would you please consider making the page move to American Heritage Schools? American Heritage Schools (Florida) is also acceptable, however the disambigator seems unnecessary since American Heritage Schools only exists in Florida. The request is listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:American_Heritage_School_(Florida)#Requested_move_23_April_2025

Thank you, AH60BRSchool (talk) 15:49, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

The World Destubathon ↗

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It will be held from Monday June 16 - Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help towards making the content produced as diverse and broad as possible!♦ <span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#aba67e">''Dr. Blofeld''</span> 14:07, 15 June 2025 (UTC)

Page protection

Hi - in a page move you moved page protection to Chris Webb (disambiguation) ↗. I don't think that this disambiguation page is the page that required protection. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 11:12, 21 August 2025 (UTC)

:When I move a page, the protection moves with it. I can't control that. I'm just a page mover - an admin would be required to adjust page protection settings. Bensci54 (talk) 14:36, 25 August 2025 (UTC)

Nigel Richards ↗

Hi, thank you for acting as closer in this discussion. Note that when moving an article to the primary topic, edits like this ↗ and this ↗ should be made as part of the post-move. 162 etc. (talk) 16:26, 11 September 2025 (UTC)

WP:RM/TR ↗

Hi Bensci54,

It seems you didn't read Taylor Berry's request ↗ carefully. They requested to move User:TaylorBerry/Print.Save.Repeat to User:Taylor Berry/Print.Save.Repeat with the reason: '''My account name includes a space. The draft was accidentally created under 'TaylorBerry' (no space). Please move it under my correct username so I can continue editing'''. However, User:TaylorBerry/Print.Save.Repeat has been deleted. The page you moved is a different page and the user didn't request to move this page. Annh07 (talk) 20:57, 17 October 2025 (UTC)

:Yeah, I did read it wrong. But as you said it is a moot point anyhow. Bensci54 (talk) 22:04, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Agender Move

Hi you removed my request for the moving of draft:agender ↗ from Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests ↗ for "incorrect venue". Could you tell me what the correct venue is? The help desk said I should ask in technical requests, and someone in technical requests moved my request to requiring admin assistance. Thank you! Pencilceaser123 (talk) 23:14, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

:I removed it because it seemed you were asking for a history merge, not a move. History merges should be requested by adding a {{tl|History merge}} tag on the article you want the history merged to. This will cause the page to be listed at WP:RFHM ↗ where an admin will look into it. Bensci54 (talk) 13:47, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
