25px|alt=|link= ↗ Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article, specifically :Milwaukee Wave ↗, may fail our non-free image policy ↗. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria ↗. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page ↗.<!-- Template:uw-nonfree --> Werieth (talk) 20:35, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Media copyright questions

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at :Wikipedia:Media copyright questions ↗, is considered bad practice ↗, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting.

I can appreciate that you probably removed the content based on your belief that it was in the wrong place, or based on the reply you had received. However, in that case you should strike through (<s>like this</s>, achieved <nowiki><s>like this</s></nowiki>) or clarify your comment with a further reply, so that the record of conversations on the page is intact. Certainly, removing the reply of another editor is something you should never do. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-tpv1 --> <span style="font-family:Arial;font-weight:bold;color:#000;"><span style="color:#0645AD;">Begoon</span>&thinsp;<span style="color:gray;">talk</span></span> 05:39, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Then go fix it. In the future, refer to the top of my talk page.

Tell me the issue, how to resolve, and how to correct in the future. You could have done this in your first comment.

Bes2224 (talk) 06:07, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Yeah - I tried to help as best I could. My first comment was an automatic TW:Twinkle ↗ comment. I took the trouble to add those things subsequently so that you wouldn't be upset. Seems I failed. Many people wouldn't have tried to explain. I did. Sorry it wasn't enough for you. Have a nice day, and I hope you find your argumentative approach profitable with other editors. It's not with me. <span style="font-family:Arial;font-weight:bold;color:#000;"><span style="color:#0645AD;">Begoon</span>&thinsp;<span style="color:gray;">talk</span></span> 06:14, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. I do, because who likes me on Wikipedia isn't the highlight of my life. Bes2224 (talk)

I added the dates to the table so they could be replaced with scores when the games are played. It's makes it easier to keep track of which score belongs to which date and lessen the chances of error. Please restore the table with the dates on it. An exciting month of wiki events!

<div style="background: #EFFDF5; padding:3em; font-family:'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; font-size:110%;">
Hello there,

I am pleased to say that April will be a ''very'' exciting month for Wikipedia in Washington, DC. We have a lot of different events coming up, so you will have a lot to choose from.

First, a reminder that our second annual '''Women in the Arts Edit-a-Thon ↗''' will take place on Sunday, March 30 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

Coming up in April, we have our first-ever '''Open Government WikiHack ↗''' with the Sunlight Foundation on April 5–6! We are working together to use open government data to improve the Wikimedia projects, and we would love your help. All are welcome, regardless of coding or editing experience. We will also be having a '''happy hour ↗''' the day before, with refreshments courtesy of the Sunlight Foundation.

On Friday, April 11 we are having our first edit-a-thon ever with the Library of Congress. The '''Africa Collection Edit-a-Thon ↗''' will focus on the Library's African and Middle East Reading Room. It'll be early in the morning, but it's especially worth it if you're interested in improving Wikipedia's coverage of African topics.

The following day, we are having our second annual '''Wiki Loves Capitol Hill ↗''' training. We will discuss policy issues relevant to Wikimedia and plan for our day of outreach to Congressional staffers that will take place during the following week.

There are other meetups in the works, so be sure to check our meetup page ↗ with the latest. I hope to see you at some of these events!

All the best,<br />James Hare

I am pleased to announce our fourth annual picnic, the '''Great American Wiknic''', will take place at Meridian Hill Park ↗ in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, July 13 from 1 to 5 PM (rain date: July 20). Wikimedia DC invites revolutionaries, free thinkers, and other sundry editors to a DC WikiSalon

The WikiSalon is a special meetup usually held during the first and third full weeks of every month, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It's an informal gathering of Wikimedia enthusiasts, who come together to discuss Wikimedia wikis and collaboratively edit. There's no set agenda, and guests are welcome to recommend articles for the group to edit or edit on their own.

If you're coming by Metro, the closest station is Dupont Circle (on the Red Line). If you're driving, a lot of parking opens up downtown after 6:30 PM, so finding a parking space (even a free one) should be easy. Once you've found the building, go to Cove on the second floor. We will be in the conference room.

'''When''': Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

'''Where''': The Cove, Dupont Circle, 1730 Connecticut Avenue NW, 2nd floor, 20009, DC

Indoor Professional League

So it looks like the IPL is dead before it started: http://pointstreaksites.com/view/masl/news/news_460679 ↗. Would there be any value in keeping the IPL page, or should it go up for deletion as it was "a thing" but never played a game, and never has any structure it appears. (I'll keep my opinion about how it was an Ed Hale powerplay out of it). RickinBaltimore (talk) 16:35, 29 August 2016 (UTC)

I'm willing to support a merger into the MASL page, because I think it's a notable part of history. If the MASL "fans" are willing to accept it, I'm cool with it. If they aren't, then the IPL page should exist into the future. With either decision, I think the Blast page should reflect a more detailed explanation of the IPL (Bes2224 (talk) 16:45, 29 August 2016 (UTC))

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Template:Indoor Professional League ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

A tag has been placed on :Template:Indoor Professional League ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗ because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<code><nowiki><noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude></nowiki></code>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Proposed deletion ↗ of :2009–10 Ultimate Soccer League ↗

left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗

The article :2009–10 Ultimate Soccer League ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗&#32;because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''League doesn't have a page and teams are all red links. No further evidence of notability'''</blockquote>

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> <b style="font-family: Verdana; color: #6633FF;">StarM</b> 14:21, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Academica FC (logo).jpg

64px|left|alt=|link= ↗
Thank you for uploading ''':File:Academica FC (logo).jpg ↗'''. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content ↗. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline ↗ is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag ↗; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗. Hi, Bes2224. ::y use of AI here was for drafting assistance. Spelling, grammar, organization, and clarity. I've written many articles similar to this page in the past. I would have just copy and pasted a lot the format from another article I have already created, and just replaced it with the same info, in a lot less grammatically correct fashion. You can read WP:LLMCOMM ↗ to understand ''why'' this is not allowed. &#x2011;&#x2011;gurkubondinn 16:57, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
::::@Bes2224: it is very important that you do this. I am worried that you will get blocked if you ignore this advice and continue like this. &#x2011;&#x2011;gurkubondinn 17:12, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::: @gurkubondinn: before you continue responding, , you should take a moment to read through the Large language models guidelines ↗. Please also take a look at #1 and refrain from not reading your own reference materials. Such policy states “Editors are permitted to use LLMs to suggest basic copyedits to their own writing, and to incorporate some of them after human review, provided the LLM does not introduce content of its own." Furthermore, the caution in #1 does not need to be heeded to as I am the source of my own statement when responding to the question. Hence no Violation took place. Now I must question, did an LLM write this for you? Because such a question could be indictive of not reading the sourced material first. (Bes2224 (talk) 19:08, 9 July 2026 (UTC))
:::::::::::I helped write those guidelines, so I am somewhat familiar with what they say. But fine, I've tried helping you. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force the horse to drink I guess. Good luck. &#x2011;&#x2011;gurkubondinn 19:12, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

A comment that you recently posted to :Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2026 Banana Ball Championship League season ↗ seemed to be generated using a large language model ↗ (an "AI chatbot ↗" or other application using such technology). ::That isn't misuse. Move the page to draft space was correct, because it was generated by ChatGPT. You are allowed to ''move'' it back, that is called a WP:DRAFTOBJECT ↗, but you should ''move'' the page and not copy it into a new article. &#x2011;&#x2011;gurkubondinn 17:07, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:::That's not the reason why. If you look at my talk page it was first stated "it needs more sources to establish notability" and then the 2nd time " it has no indication of notability of the subject and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement."
:::But regardless, the issues have likely been resolved, and I again will state, I believe the Draft articles should be deleted. I just have no idea how to delete the drafts. (Bes2224 (talk) 17:13, 9 July 2026 (UTC))
::::Those are standard phrases from checkboxes. The "needs more sources" option is the default one, and it's very easy to forget to uncheck it and check the "machine-generated text" box instead. Personally, I would have draftified this article, or requested a speedy deletion under WP:G15 ↗, if I had seen it. In either case, the draftification was valid. &#x2011;&#x2011;gurkubondinn 17:20, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on :2026 Banana Ball Championship League season ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, as it exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications is prohibited on Wikipedia ↗.

If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. {{unblock reviewed |1=I understand I was blocked for disruptive editing connected to the AfD/article dispute. I accept that I responded too much, repeated my position, and escalated the dispute instead of stepping back. I also understand that my ANI filing and related comments made the situation worse. I used an example from a previous discussion because I wanted to follow a format. This is my first time submitting to this page. The facts, and concerns were mine, but I am new to this process and thought I was following the correct process. But again, I didn't use AI, I simply did copy and paste for structure. Going forward, I will not continue arguing the same points, will not post further ANI/user-talk complaints about this while the AfD is ongoing, and will not keep responding to every criticism. I will keep any future comments short, specific, article-focused, and policy-based. If I become frustrated, I will step away instead of continuing to reply. I am requesting unblock because I am trying to work within the system the way I understand it. Preventing from addressing my concerns and not addressing the heart of the issue has lead to this and why I asked for outside input instead of posting again in the same chat as befoee Bes2224 (talk) 12:27, 10 July 2026 (UTC) |decline = No. Below you ask for a tool that will allow you to avoid community scrutiny. <span class="gfSarekSig">SarekOfVulcan (talk)</span> 13:42, 10 July 2026 (UTC)}}
