Your edits are in danger of being removed

You have added a lot of material to Wikipedia since May 2018, but you never include citations to support your edits, nor do you ever include an edit summary to explain your work. Wikipedia requires citations — they are essential — therefore anything you add without a proper reference may be removed at any time. It is also Wikipedia established practice to include edit summaries describing how your edit has changed an article. Please review the policies Citing sources ↗ and Edit summaries ↗ and learn how to add citations and edit summaries if you do not want any of your edits to be reversed or content removed. Thank you. <span style="color:#2424BD;">'''—&nbsp;O'Dea'''</span> ↗ (talk) 21:51, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello, Bladerunner09

Thank you for creating Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball ↗.

User:TheTechnician27, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process ↗, had the following comments:

{{Bq|1=I believe this article was wrongfully approved at AfC. While the prose and formatting are good, the article crucially rests entirely on one citation, and that citation is user-submitted content on TV Tropes ↗. I see this as a promising article were it to be populated with adequate references, but there's a very good reason why wikis aren't allowed as a source, and without it, this article is left completely uncited. Recommend WP:DRAFTIFY ↗, as AfC clearly moved this into the mainspace too early.}}

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{code|<nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>TheTechnician27<nowiki>}}</nowiki>}}. Please remember to sign your reply with {{code|<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>}} .

Popeye actors

Hi Bladerunner09, I see that you added "Mike O'Malley voiced [character] in an audiobook for Popeye and the Ghosk of Ghoulie Grange" on every major Popeye character's infobox. I don't think that is a notable production. It's just a YouTube video, not a published audiobook. Either way, it wouldn't be as important as the voice actors who perform the characters in the actual cartoons and films. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Daws Butler’s characters

Hi Bladerunner09 I don’t know what to say do you know who’s currently doing Daws Butler’s Characters Now my guess would be Jeff Bergman who’s currently doing a lot of Daws Butler’s Characters Now I don’t know why other voice actors like Rob Paulsen Jim Cummings or Tom Kenny don’t voices Daws Butler’s Characters for some strange reason I don’t know who currently voices Daws Butler’s characters and Don Messick’s Characters and many other Hanna Barbera Voice Actors who originally Them don’t voiced them. ::::@Asilvering Their blog is copyrighted. Once their “own word” appears in the blog, it becomes copyrighted. So, whether they actually wrote it there or not, the texts becomes copyrighted and as such they have to write in another of their “own word” that is not their “own word” from the blog post. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 20:06, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
:::::Regarding {{tq|Their blog is copyrighted. Once their “own word” appears in the blog, it becomes copyrighted. So, whether they actually wrote it there or not, the texts becomes copyrighted}}...sure? But if I write something on my hypothetical blog, and then I post it on Wikipedia and ''agree to release it under CC-BY-SA'' when I do so, then that's fine. Creative Commons-licensed works are frequently copyrighted; that's, for example, the only way to enforce the sharealike condition. So, {{tq|as such they have to write in another of their “own word” that is not their “own word” from the blog post}} isn't necessarily true.
:::::Provided that we have evidence that this person runs the blog, and doesn't lose copyrights/rights to issue new non-exclusive copyright licenses when posting from that blog, I see no reason why this would be a licensing issue. We'd just need that evidence (such as through a VRT ticket ↗), and we'd be A-OK. — <span style="color: #660000">Red-tailed&nbsp;hawk</span>&nbsp;<span style="color: #660000">(nest)</span> 20:38, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
::::::@Red-tailed hawk I think the best way to do this is license the blog itself, or the text of that particular webpage under CC-BY-SA 4.0/3.0. I mean, with that, you don't need no VRT ticket or any private evidence. Like I said, it does not make sense for me to think that because it is your blog, then it can be fine to agree to release it under CC-BY-SA when there is not clear copyright status of a website's content. I usually assume it is best to think that a website is copyrighted ''if'' there is no clear copyright status, be it a one-man blog or not, than to think that it is not. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 22:06, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
:::::::I agree that it being published elsewhere first creates a presumption that it's non-free if there is no license apparent, and that having a license on that website itself would be the gold standard. {{outdent}} What happens a fair amount of the time is that users just go quiet in the middle of these discussions and we never hear from them again. I assumed a week was more than long anough for VRT to have explained what was needed from you, but clearly that is not the case, so that's on me and I do apologize. I would hope that the phrasing of my decline would mean that future reviewing admins would not hold it against you in any case.

As an interim compromise solution, if you would agree not to use the blog in question as a source until the matter is resolved with VRT, I would be willing to unblock you as the issue has been explained and discussed at length here. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 23:38, 28 January 2025 (UTC)

:@Beeblebrox, unfortunately the copying extends to more than just the blog. Some was translation copyvio from Japanese-language sources, @Vanderwaalforces found some from cartoonresearch.com, etc. -- asilvering (talk) 03:26, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
::You indicated that you had {{tq|passed it on to folks who have the time to handle copyright stuff right now}} twenty-seven days ago. We've not heard back from them either. I think a firm warning not to do close paraphrasing has already been given in the prolonged thread above. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 18:38, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
:::Ok, I've had a chance to review the paragraph in the unblock request below now and I wouldn't say that it's close paraphrasing, so that's good. If I had the time to follow up on future creations I would happily unblock, but that's a high-brainpower task for me and I'm way behind on the high-brainpower tasks that are my literal job. If you (or anyone else) are able to source-check their next several major edits, by all means unblock, with my thanks. -- asilvering (talk) 23:24, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

{{unblock reviewed|accept=Lifting block, satisfied it is no longer necessary, per Vanderwaalforces below. -- asilvering (talk) 21:52, 31 January 2025 (UTC)| reason=@Asilvering I have recently been drafting an edit for the article Bink & Gollie ↗ in Notepad. I saw that it was a stub, and decided to add information to improve and expand it a little. This includes how the book was created, its publication date, its award-winning animated adaptations in 2012-2013, etc. I wrote all of this in my own words and added references to the original copyrighted information. Here is an example: "The idea behind the book came in 2006 when Kate DiCamillo and Alison McGhee (who met in 2001) wanted to write one together, which they had not done before.<ref name="PenPals1">{{Cite news|last=Hertzel|first=Laurie|date=2010-08-20|title=Pen pals, page 1 {{!}} Star Tribune|url=https://www.startribune.com/entertainment/books/100577484.html|access-date=January 26, 2025|language=en|archive-date=August 22, 2010|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20100822152719/https://www.startribune.com/entertainment/books/100577484.html|url-status=dead}}</ref> The two had an idea for a story about a short girl and a tall girl, emailing possible names for the characters to each other. :Ok, Bladerunner, I've had a look at this one and the sources, and I'm not seeing close paraphrasing here, so that's great. Two things: first, it's not DiCamillo who thought it was too much like pollywog, it was McGhee. Second, it's much better if you place the citations where they actually belong - ie, right on the sentence containing the fact they verify. For example, I only see that pollywog bit on the blinkandgollie link, so that sentence should have that citation on it, and no other citations (unless I've missed something). -- asilvering (talk) 23:10, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

:@asilvering, I have corrected the "pollywog" error and placed the citations where they belong. Can I publish the edit now, please? I haven't made any "future creations" or "next several major edits" recently. Bladerunner09 (talk) 13:12, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
::I've expressed my displeasure at how this is being handled at User talk:asilvering#Bladerunner09 block. You have done everything that was asked of you, and remain blocked because of the inaction of others. I regret my own role in making that the case and am minded to unblock you if asilvering will not do it themselves. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 21:31, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
::Ah, I thought I commented here the last time I got a notification from this thread, I clearly didn't. This block has actually become very unnecessary. Bladerunner's responses so far say it all; they now understand why they're blocked and have also said how they'd improve. If the only condition to unblock is by source-checking their next several major edits, then '''any admin should please unblock''' as that's something I (or anyone else) can, as usual, voluntarily do. FWIW, that was how I originally spotted the issues we've been talking about for the past one month. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 21:49, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
:::Thanks so much for volunteering to do that, @Vanderwaalforces. I trust you will do so, so I'll unblock. -- asilvering (talk) 21:51, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
::::@Asilvering, seeing as how I have not heard back from VRT when I contacted them (submitting evidence that I am in charge of my blog), may I please add the gathered sources I sent you (for Keio Flying Squadron ↗) and write in my own words when editing, or should I wait until they reply? Bladerunner09 (talk) 11:35, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
:::::So long as you're using new words and not close paraphrasing ↗, and as long as you cite the sources you've found the information in (like you did above), you're good to edit wherever. -- asilvering (talk) 18:15, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

Horrid Henry Pilot reference

Hello, I want to have a little talk to you on an edit you have done for the article of the British television ↗ animated series ↗ ''Horrid Henry ↗''. Please do not cite user-generated sources ↗, especially YouTube ↗. They are considered unreliable and original research ↗ because the website is social media ↗, which is automatically user-generated. User-generated sources are not deemed verifiable since YouTube is not a publication source because it consists of videos uploaded by users, not books, newspapers, articles, etc.

About the pilot of the show, there are no reliable, secondary sources that exist about the pilot, thus, the information you added has been deleted. Also, it is officially unknown about the voices of the pilot for right now. Since this is an encyclopedia website that abide with reliable published sources ↗, please do not create rumors/rumours about the voice cast, such as when it said "with Janet James voicing Horrid Henry and Perfect Peter". This is considered original research, especially that it is basically something that is "created and rumored/rumoured". Aubreeprincess (talk) 15:31, 19 August 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you added or changed "in popular culture ↗" content in an article, :Pink Panther (character) ↗, but you didn't provide a reliable secondary source ↗. On Wikipedia, it's important that all "in popular culture" article content be supported by a source that verifies ↗ not just the existence of the popular culture reference, but also its significance to the article's subject. If you'd like to resubmit your change with an appropriate citation ↗, your edit is archived in the page history ↗. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page ↗. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 03:06, 11 September 2025 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on :Moon Child (video game) ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion ↗, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Moon Child (video game) ↗. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Moon+Child+%28video+game%29|deleting administrator}}, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here ↗. <!-- Template:Db-repost-notice -->
