When editing an article on Wikipedia ↗ there is a small field labelled "Edit summary ↗" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

:Edit summary text box ↗

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes ↗ page, in the page revision history ↗, on the diff page ↗, and in the watchlists ↗ of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary ↗ for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism ↗ and may be reverted ↗, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Non-attributed translations

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from :tl:Enrique Mendiola ↗ to :Enrique Mendiola ↗. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing ↗ '''requires that you provide attribution''' to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an '''edit summary ↗''' on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking ↗ it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here ↗. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution '''must be given retroactively ↗''', for example:
: <code><nowiki>NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at :fr:Exact name of French article ↗; see its history for attribution.</nowiki></code>
Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit ↗; see Repairing insufficient attribution ↗.
It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{tl|translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively ↗, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-translation --> JTtheOG (talk) 05:25, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

:Dear JTtheOG, you are very kind; thank you. I am also the author of the :tl:Enrique Mendiola ↗ article from which this English article Enrique Mendiola ↗ is translated from. As I am unfamiliar with the syntax for attributing the original article, your notification is very well appreciated (a fresh learning experience).
:With most kind regards, Buszmail (talk) 06:25, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

The World Destubathon ↗

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible! ♦ <span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#aba67e">''Dr. Blofeld''</span> 10:04, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
: I've enlisted! I would hope that destubbing in Simple English Wikipedia is included soon as well. Yours in wiki, ''Buszmail'' ↗

Destubathon runs until the 16th of July

Hi, just a courtesy message to notify you in case you haven't seen the Wikipedia:The World Destubathon ↗ contest update in the last few days that we've decided to run the full month until the 16th of July. For those who have been too busy to contribute, we would love some help in reaching 4000 articles by Wednesday night! At present we're about 480 articles short!♦ <span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#aba67e">''Dr. Blofeld''</span> 16:51, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Destubathon of the Americas ↗

You are invited to participate in the '''Destubathon of the Americas ↗''', a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ <span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#aba67e">''Dr. Blofeld''</span> 16:45, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
