Hello there
Dear Mentor,
I do notice that most of the questions people ask you are somewhat… braindead. Which is funny. I wish people weren’t like that
Anyways, I’m here to ask you for some wikipedia articles you’d recommend me to edit. I’ve been having some trouble finding some Wikipedia articles that are interesting and full of editing space for me, so I’d greatly appreciate it if you told me (I asked this question to multiple other mentors and they mostly ignored)
Thank you! Riverskysun (talk) 02:05, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
:(Talk Page Stalker) The first stop you could try is your Homepage ↗ which gives you edit suggestions. You could also try to do a random page ↗ or try copyediting ↗. 02:58, 13 May 2026 (UTC) Realtent (talk) 02:58, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
:Since your question has already been answered (quite accurately, at that), I must say that the questions people ask me mostly fall into 3 categories. Said categories are actually good questions, "haw doo i maek artical", and plain gibberish that I can't even begin to comprehend. CabinetCavers--[[User talk:CabinetCavers|--DEPOSIT OPINION, [valued customer]]] 16:02, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from PowerInMe (11:01, 14 May 2026)
Hello CabinetCavers. It appears you have been allocated as my mentor! I am new to Wikipedia and so have a question about my first edits.
I have attempted to update the page for David Lewis (cricketer, born 1940) as he sadly passed away earlier this week. It was a major edit that I made, as his pre-existing page only focussed on his earlier cricket career and there was nothing about his greatest achievements in creating large scale choral events and establishing Young Voices. I also attempted to link his personal bio page to the Young Voices page.
I received a message the other day (copied at the bottom of this message) asking for me to disclose any affiliation with the subject, which I have since declared no official affiliation through my User page and by reply. I also responded to the user's action, asking for them to reinstate my edits. They are yet to respond or take any further action reflecting my request to reinstate.
Is there anything more I can do to reinstate? The timing is unfortunate giving David passed away on Monday just gone.
Praxidicae moved page David Lewis (Young Voices) to David Lewis (cricketer, born 1940) over a redirect without leaving a redirect: Restoring actual article --PowerInMe (talk) 11:01, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
:I'm not sure how I can help with that. CabinetCavers--[[User talk:CabinetCavers|--DEPOSIT OPINION, [valued customer]]] 15:25, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

'''Backlog update'''
At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.
After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.
'''2024 and 2025 NPP Awards'''
74px|left ↗{{no ping|JTtheOG}} was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
{{no ping|Hey man im josh}} and {{no ping|MPGuy2824}} won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.
Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.
{{no ping|BoyTheKingCanDance}}, {{no ping|Rosiestep}}, {{no ping|SunDawn}}, and {{no ping|Vanderwaalforces}} were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame ↗ for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.
'''January–February backlog drive'''
The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.
'''May backlog drive'''
An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026 ↗.
'''PageTriage'''
An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed ↗ to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket ↗ if you're interested in following along.

Question from EditedbyEddy (09:04, 15 May 2026)
Hi. What are the rules in editing a wikipedia page? --EditedbyEddy (talk) 09:05, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
:That's a tough one to answer. There are many policies and guidelines regarding editing articles, and reading some of the manual of style ↗ or WP:HOWTOEDIT ↗ may be helpful. However, some of the basics are to always cite sources when adding information, always make sure to use proper grammar, and be bold ↗ when editing. Worst case scenario, the edit will be reverted and someone will leave a message on your talk page. There is likely more that I am leaving out, but this should be helpful for someone just getting started. Be sure to return if you have any questions! CabinetCavers--[[User talk:CabinetCavers|--DEPOSIT OPINION, [valued customer]]] 12:08, 15 May 2026 (UTC)

why i cant see my article? where i can see it --RuthieCastroRodriguez (talk) 14:12, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
:(Talk page stalker) I'll answer both your question above and this question. For the above, we can't do anything about that here. We can't try to 'expose' or 'prove the truth' of something ↗. As for the latter, if you wrote it in your user sandbox, it can be found here ↗. If you wrote it in the main sandbox ↗, it probably got deleted, but you can find it in the page history. Question from Pramana00 (04:23, 19 May 2026)
Hi! I directly quoted a piece of a book for the Madurese language, specifically a description of when the "Èngghi-Enten" vocabulary is used, since there was nothing filled in (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madurese_language#Language_levels). Is this direct quotation okay or should I opt to paraphrase like the descriptions of the other language levels? --Pramana00 (talk) 04:23, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from LawJef93 (00:41, 21 May 2026)
Hello! How do I know which format to follow when editing articles? Additionally, how do citations work? --LawJef93 (talk) 00:41, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
:Are you planning to use source editing or the visual editor? CabinetCavers--[[User talk:CabinetCavers|--DEPOSIT OPINION, [valued customer]]] 11:54, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
::I would prefer to use the visual editor, but I could use source editing if that's what you recommend LawJef93 (talk) 12:56, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
:::Both can be used for different purposes. For citations and most minor edits (adding small amounts of content, fixing spelling/grammar errors), use visual editor. For anything like adding templates ↗, source is easier to use. As for a particular format to follow, use a formal tone ↗ when editing, and as for adding citations, in the visual editor, there is a quote icon. Click that when you want to add a citation somewhere, and follow instructions from there. If you need clarification, please tell me. CabinetCavers--[[User talk:CabinetCavers|--DEPOSIT OPINION, [valued customer]]] 13:09, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from NvD at USAScienceFestival (15:11, 4 June 2026)
Hello, I have declared a conflict of interest and have been proposing updates to the USA Science & Engineering Festival article through the Talk page. In mid-April, I posted a request to add sourced information for the 2018 and 2020 Festival events (which were missing and were even mentioned as missing by another editor on the Talk page). I have not received any editor feedback. Could you advise on the best next step? Should I continue to wait for review or is there another process you recommend when Talk page requests do not receive a response? Thank you in advance. --NvD at USAScienceFestival (talk) 15:11, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from WestCoastWiki (00:34, 12 June 2026)
Hello CabinetCavers, thank you for being assigned as my mentor.
I am a new editor (WestCoastWiki) and have been working on a draft
article at Draft:Style MiSia. I have a conflict of interest as I am
the subject of the article (Style MiSia / Juan Ojeda Jr., a hip-hop
producer from Long Beach, CA).
I have disclosed my COI on the draft talk page and have been working
to address each reviewer decline carefully. The most recent decline
(by Awesomecat, June 11) cited the Biography section as entirely
unsourced. I have since revised the Biography to only include claims
supported by independent reliable sources from The Word Is Bond
(May and June 2010) and resubmitted.
I have also made constructive edits to the Scarub, Rasco, and Casual
(rapper) Wikipedia pages with COI disclosures on each talk page, all
of which have remained standing.
Any guidance you can offer on the draft or the AfC process would be
greatly appreciated. -- WestCoastWiki (talk) 00:34, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
