Greetings and...

Greetings Chubbles! Good to see that you're still active! I spotted an old edit of yours ↗ over at James "Plunky" Branch ↗ and thought I'd bring up something that's been nagging me since I read an obituary for Ben Branch ↗ some years ago which stated that he had a son called James. I don't want to bring this (original research) up over at the respective talk pages, but do you have any insight to offer on this? Cheers! Technopat (talk) 13:34, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
:I don't think it's the same James. Ben Branch died in 1987, and this obituary ↗ makes no mention of Plunky's music career, but by that time Plunky had more than fifteen years in as a professional bandleader; I'd expect them to mention that ('his son carries on the family tradition' or some such). Chubbles (talk) 15:18, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
::I just had the awful feeling that I had already asked you the very same question some years back... if that is the case, sorry for bothering you! --Technopat (talk) 12:01, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of René Bertschy ↗

left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗

The article René Bertschy ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy ↗, this '''biography of a living person ↗''' will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source ↗ that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners ↗, or ask at the help desk ↗. Once you have provided at least one reliable source ↗, you may remove the {{tl|prod blp/dated}} tag. '''Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced.''' If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can {{#ifexist:René Bertschy|request that it be undeleted|request that it be undeleted ↗}} when you are ready to add one.<!-- Template:ProdwarningBLP --> <span style="background-color: #F2CED4; padding: 2px 3px 1px 3px;"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS; color: RoyalBlue">MimirIsSmart</span> <span style="color: RoyalBlue">(talk)</span></span> 02:34, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

Boldly merging

A reminder that if you create a duplicate (like Terrell Stafford ↗) and spot the problem (see this edit ↗) you can can boldly merge it; no-one will complain. If you do think that a merge is warranted, and place the tags rather than being bold, remember Step 1: Create a discussion ↗. I've done the merge ... Klbrain (talk) 17:54, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

Race for what?

I do not understand why you commented here ↗ with a line like "the position defended by the two major commenters here is not winning the day" - was it gleeful? Are we in some kind of a race? Competition on who can ''win the day''? I've been logged in for 17 years to improve the project best I can, certainly not to try to win any day. As far as Ms Olsson is concerned, I've said what I have to say. Do what you please with it! I've seen no improvement suggested, only people getting together to support each other's rule-riding and interpretations and to determine who's right or wrong. To me, that's not why we're here. SergeWoodzing (talk) 02:30, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
:It was an attempt at an unheated notification, to the two most interested parties, that the discussion at MOSBIO did not support the outcome that the two of you took to be self-evident. The attempt failed, alas. I do see a change to nationality in the lede being an improvement, so on that point we differ, as well. I think anything else I have to say on the matter has been said or will be said in the existing talk threads. Chubbles (talk) 18:07, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
::It was a snide, inappropriate wording, for which I gave you a good opportunity to apologize. Not interested. Maybe I should have talked to you with like comments? Now, I'm sure you are gleeful that your dogged campaign for so long, and with so many words and repetitions, has succeeded in making light of the original citizenship Olsson had and her birthright, which she is proud of and has been intervewed about in Swedish several times. She calls her visits ''going home''. In her widowhood, I assume she'll see what you did and be sad about it. But, by all means, congratulations to the glorious Victor! You won! You won! Now, do something useful, non-competetive and important. SergeWoodzing (talk) 22:00, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of :Clark Monroe's Uptown House ↗

left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗

The article :Clark Monroe's Uptown House ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗&#32;because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Insufficient sourcing discovered, was able to locate one piece of SIGCOV but I'm not convinced that it sufficiently demonstrates notability'''</blockquote>

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion based on established criteria ↗.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion ↗ of the article at any time.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> <b><span style="color:#0080FB">Invading</span><span style="color:#0668E1">Invader</span></b> (userpage, talk) 15:44, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

Spraydog ↗

Hi. I notice you have removed the sources for the Spraydog albums that I added, with the edit summary "remove promo links" but did not offer any other sources and did not remove the claims of the albums existence. Does one of the other existing references on the article cover the existence of those albums? Morwen (talk) 14:36, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
:Albums are published works; a discography is like a bibliography. If we are providing basic publication data (title, label, year), additional sourcing is not necessary, just as it would not be to substantiate the existence of a book. Citing primary sources (like Bandcamp) or user-generated sources (like Discogs) are inadvisable. Chubbles (talk) 14:39, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
::Interesting. Does this logic apply to release years for albums that have no date of release or date of copyright printed on them or their packaging? Morwen (talk) 14:46, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
:::You're right that date of release can sometimes require a third-party source in that case, but to be honest, I rarely find myself in genuine disputes with other editors about release dates. It happens, and when it does, it of course needs to be resolved through evidence, but in general I don't see it that often. Chubbles (talk) 15:14, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

:Hello, Chubbles,
:I noticed that The Banner made a comment on their user talk page (now archived) about you gravedancing and when I examined your edits around June 18th, it did seem like you referred disparaging to them several times in your edit summaries. This might not be a widely-held view among editors, but I think that a general attitude of civility should extend to both active and inactive editors.
:You shouldn't use the fact that an editor is blocked (not banned but blocked) as justification to revert their previous work. There should be valid reasons for undoing edits that shouldn't rely on the identify of the editor who made them unless they are a sockpuppet/master. At least that's how I understand the civility pillar of Wikipedia.
:I should add that I didn't follow whatever conduct and noticeboard discussion led to The Banner's block so this is not a judgment on their editing history. It's just that an experienced editor like you should be able to make edits that effectively make your point without making comments about an editor who can not reply to you. Even blocked editors shouldn't become targets for rude remarks. And with that said, I'll also say thank you very much for all of your other contributions to the project. Thank you. <span style="font-family:Papyrus; color:#800080;">'''''L'''''iz</span> '''''Read!''''' ↗ '''''Talk!''''' 03:27, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
