Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Category:2024 in Austria ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

A tag has been placed on :Category:2024 in Austria ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category ↗, a category redirect ↗, a featured topics category ↗, under discussion at Categories for discussion ↗, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. My apologies

Hello Cilidus, I wanted to apologize again because I really dropped the ball with my wording, to the point where it came across insulting to you. Your response was completely justifiable, and I just wanted to clear the air with you on your talk page. Your content creation is just fine - what I meant was "not that great" was your article creation. My article creation also isn't great either; my article creation log ↗ shows that I've only created 9 articles. If somebody has a good track record with creating articles, then they are nominated for the Autopatrolled permission at WP:PERM ↗. Because I don't have 25 articles created, there isn't enough evidence to show that I can write good articles, so I would definitely be turned away. However, we recently set up a redirect whitelist for those who have created 100 quality redirects. If their redirect creation is of high standard, then they are nominated for the whitelist to automatically patrol redirects created, but NOT normal articles.

I saw your redirect history, and thought that it was really solid. From there, I checked your articles created, and found that there wasn't enough evidence to suggest that you should become autopatrolled. However, I still nominated you for the redirect whitelist. Hopefully you understand a bit more of where I'm coming from, because my wording that I used in your nomination was not great at all. Cheers! <span style="background-color: #FFCFBF; font-variant: small-caps">Utopes ('''talk''' / '''cont ↗''')</span> 23:14, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
:{{ping|Utopes}} I understand you completely. I thought it kind of strange of you to "insult" me while you were nominating me for a redirect whitelist, but as I do not create articles (or "content"), I didn't take it that harshly, and I was mostly confused about what you meant by your statement. While I did not actually think you were calling my edits "not that great", I wanted to find out what "the issue" with them were. No worries and thank you for taking the time to contact me again. Cilidus (talk) 11:00, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

that is a lot of page moves

have you discussed that anywhere ? or is there a precedent and or consensus at the Australian notice board, the Victorian notice board or the Australian politics project notice board before you started? JarrahTree 13:49, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
:{{ping|JarrahTree}} The page moves are perfectly inline with WP:NCELECT ↗, which states that years should precede names of elections and not follow them, as was the case with the pages before the moves. Cilidus (talk) 13:54, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
:regardles of whether you are right in principle or abiding by rules, the 3 locations above are usually, as a matter of good faith, worth knowing that they exist - and are always worth a visit if you're doing such a massive change - but then everyone seems to want to walk over australian content these days as if the australian project or its parts arent there - cheers, have fun ! JarrahTree 14:00, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
::{{ping|JarrahTree}} I understand your concern, but page moves in regards to the aforementioned WP guideline page are meant to apply to all elections, and do not uniquely exclude Australian or Victorian elections. The noticeboards you mentioned are great places to discuss issues concerning only Australia or Victoria, but these page moves are bigger than just those. Thanks. Cilidus (talk) 14:04, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
::fair enough - (it doesnt reassure me - the many processes regularly have items changed and the proposers mostly never ever list or inform any stage of the community) - as I say have fun, and thanks for pointing it out from your perspective... JarrahTree 14:08, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

Individual who have links from Wikipedia to their commercial website.

You had mentioned that the link between wikipedia and Yda Addis's Facebook page was wrong due to your fact "it was commercial." Explain please why the following wikipedia pages have links to a commercial website in order to sell commercially: Metropolitan Museum of Art, Elvis Costello, Cher, Joan Rivers, Suzanne Somers, Michael Crichton, John Grishan, Oprah, Michelle Obama: Life, and so on. The problem is that you do not recognize without these books of Yda Addis's literature her work was completely forgotten and lost through time. Because The Argonaut went out of business and was never digitized (the original Argonaut I am referring to) the old Harpers very difficult to find and so on. If you go to my talk page please read the comment that was made about where does one find Yda Addis's literature. So by your comments you have showed me that there is something more than commerce that you oppose. It is something about Yda Addis. Perhaps you have a connection with that writer that you are not divulging. Please be honest, otherwise what you have done is pure vandalism.Chaos4tu (talk) 19:56, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
:{{ping|Chaos4tu}} I have not mentioned anything about the Facebook link you desperately want to add to the article being "commercial", but it is funny that you bring it up, because you are right. From the Facebook page that '''you created''', you have linked an Amazon.com page where '''you sell books''' that '''you have written''' under the label of '''your "publishing company"'''. If you really want me to explain to you why pages such as that of the Metropolitan Museum of Art contain links to websites, it is because they are websites that '''belong to that person, corporation or entity'''. I have already explained why these websites have legitimacy in my response '''here''' ↗, but to summarize:
:Before you go on to further revert the edits that I have made to pages that you have edited previously, I want you to '''think''' about '''why''' I made these edits. For example, I made '''this edit''' ↗ to the article about Lila Deneken ↗, which you have also edited in the past. In this edit, I placed a template regarding the inadequate use of footnotes that are used to '''verify that the information provided is truthful''', I removed a link to a dead website which is no longer accessible, I further organized the sections by which the article has been divided, I made it clearer where the information in the article has been provided from by using the template "cite web", I added the template "not in source", which alerts the reader and future editors that the information that has been allegedly gathered from the source can not in fact be found in the source, and I removed the promotional section "Presently", which contained unsourced or unverifiable information used to advertise one of her albums. I want you to know that I care deeply about the accuracy of the information that is provided on Wikipedia, and I ask you to realize that I am acting in good faith when I say that the links that you provide to this website do not belong here. Please take a moment to '''think''' and to '''reflect''' on the message that I am trying to get across with these attemps to communicate with you. Cilidus (talk) 21:23, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

You are really insane!

Your comments are really an example of crazy terrorist behavior. Please do not contact me, or try to contact me. You are a nut trying to legitimize your behavior. Do not contact me again. DO NOT CONTACT ME AGAIN!!!! Wikipedia needs to know about crazies like you who pretend to be normal. Do not contact me. You are crazy. Chaos4tu (talk) 13:50, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Chaos4tu

{{admin help|answered=yes}} Please take care of User:Chaos4tu in some way, in regards to the discussions above ("Individuals who have links..." and "You are really insane", the latter in complete violation of WP:CIVIL ↗, where she claimed that the behaviour in '''this edit I made''' ↗ represents that of a '''"crazy terrorist"'''). Our interactions started at Talk:Yda Hillis Addis#Facebook page ↗, following this edit ↗ I made to the page of Mrs. Addis, where I removed the link to a Facebook page that Chaos4tu created for the purpose of selling books on Amazon.com. Additionally, this user has used her own self-published books as references in the edits she has made, has hijacked the identities of multiple article subjects for the purpose of promoting her Amazon works (i.e. by creating websites and Facebook pages under the names of various celebrities and claimed these to be the legitimate websites of both deceased and still living people), and shows no sign of ability to reason or settle disputes. I am sick and tired of this user (and judging by Chaos4tu's response above I think it is reasonable to say the same about her as well) and I want to pass the case of this user's history and behaviour on. Every interaction between me and this user is publicly available and has taken place in the edit summaries here ↗, on Mrs. Addis' talk page ↗ and in the two discussions above. Thank you. Wars of the Roses

Hey Cilidus! I'm just wondering if you can help. I've reformatted the "key figures" section on the Wars of the Roses ↗ page into a new Leadership ↗ section, replete with titles, name, arms, and notes about what happened to each individual, since the infobox was heavily cluttered. Although all the tables are the same width, they're not aligned, despite the settings on each one being the same (width of all the columns in the table settings are the same). As an example, the "Arms" column is misaligned with the table that follows it. Do you have any ideas how to align them all so it looks a bit neater? (PaulThomas92 (talk) 13:28, 2 August 2021 (UTC))
:I'm happy to help! While you figured out how to use the width=(X)% parameter, you forgot to define the column for the titles of the commanders (see my edit ↗), leaving that one up to its contents ("Baron Willoughby de Eresby" takes up more space than "Baron Scales"). I went for 15% width, but you are free to adjust it for yourself! Cilidus (talk) 14:41, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Amédée Turner

:That is correct per this article ↗ (Sep 16), however at the time of these ↗ edits ↗ (Sep 14), neither this article nor any other one on the internet had been published confirming Turner's death (which took place on Sep 13), making the claim unverifiable for outsiders. I would assume that you have a personal connection to Mr. Turner, in which case I am very sorry for your loss. Cilidus (talk) 11:15, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

Your thoughts

Hello Cilidus: I notice that you reverted the photo of Éric Duhaime and correctly noted that your change was due to vandalism. Thank you for that! I have tried twice to revert the malicious content but the anomymous poster kept reverting the vandalism, so I'm hoping your change will stick. However, the reason why I am bothering you about this is that I wondered if you knew how (or if either one of us has the authority) to put a temporary ban on editing an article. I've seen it done on many pages I follow and such action might be required in this case should your reversal be reversed again by the vandal. I should point out that I have no relationship with the subject of the article and, in fact, do not support his political positions in any way, but vandalizing of Wikipedia pages is just plain wrong no matter who is targetted. MauriceYMichaud (talk) 02:45, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

:Only elected administrators ↗ have the authority to lock pages, and there are many different kinds of locks (ranging from the least severe WP:WHITELOCK ↗ to the extreme WP:GOLDLOCK ↗). A request can be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection ↗, provided there is sufficient recent vandalism to warrant locking the article. I do not believe this request would be succesful, however, as there have only been three malicious edits so far. I did see that the vandal also performed the same edits on the French Wikipedia ↗, where there have been four edits. Since the vandal used two different accounts and one IP address, a request to block the user would perhaps be ineffective. I would foremost suggest requesting to delete the image ↗ from Commons, using the template <nowiki>{{speedydelete|1=</nowiki> ''explanation here'' }} ↗. If the vandalism continues from there, further measures may be necessary. Cilidus (talk) 09:51, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
::'''Thank you so much for your insights!''' I didn't want to engage in a futile back-and-forth with the offender and you seemed like someone who would know what to do if the problem persisted (as opposed to an amateur like me whose intentions are good but Wikipedia knowledge is limited). ~Best wishes from Montreal! Autopatrolled granted

right|80px ↗
Hi Cilidus, I just wanted to let you know that I have <span class="plainlinks">added ↗</span> the autopatrolled user right ↗ to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed ↗. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested ↗ on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers ↗.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject ↗ templates, stub tags ↗, categories ↗, and incoming links ↗ to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies ↗, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller ↗ yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Hey man im josh (talk) 12:04, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

Poland has 53 MEPs, not 51. Please correct this in this articles: Civic Platform ↗ and Confederation Liberty and Independence ↗. Moreover, the Civic Platform has 20 MEPs, not 21, because one of the MEPs from the Civic Coalition is a member of the Polish Initiative, not the Civic Platform, so please correct that too, ok? Speedy deletion nomination of Federico Freni

Hello Cilidus,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Federico Freni ↗ for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can <span class="plainlinks">'''Freni}}&action=edit&section=new&preload=Template:Hangon_preload&preloadtitle=This+page+should+not+be+speedy+deleted+because...+ contest this deletion ↗'''</span>, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page ↗ if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Federico Freni ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗
{{Quote box|quote=<p>If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article ↗.</p><p>You may want to consider using the Article Wizard ↗ to help you create articles.</p>|width=20%|align=right}}
A tag has been placed on :Federico Freni ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate ↗ how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable ↗.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Federico+Freni|deleting administrator}}. <!-- Template:Db-notability-notice --> &mdash;&nbsp;Safety&nbsp;Cap&nbsp;¯\_(ツ)_/¯&nbsp;(talk) 16:42, 20 September 2025 (UTC)

:Cilidus please do not remove speedy deletion tags that clearly state "do not remove this notice from pages that you have created yourself". I was just reviewing and about to decline as notable anyway. KylieTastic (talk) 16:51, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
::Thank you for this reminder. Due to the apparent notability of the subject I assumed that the nomination had been made in error, such as via misclick, and that the editor did not intend to nominate the article in the first place. Cilidus (talk) 16:55, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
:::To anyone not aware of WP:NPOL ↗ it is reasonable that they would think it fails WP:BIO ↗. It's one of those case of only obvious once you know. It all works out in the end, somehow :) KylieTastic (talk) 17:04, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
::::I may indeed have slightly misjudged the situation, however the usage of a speedy deletion tag as opposed to a notability tag, which the editor had made use of only minutes before ↗, made me suspect that this was a simple mistake from this experienced and passionate contributor. German politicans

Hey, huge thanks for your work adding German state politicians to English Wikipedia! I would like to suggest a small change though: please use the interlanguage link template (Ill ↗) for constituencies and the like in the future since there is an ongoing effort by other editors to add state constituencies to enwiki and not having to go through each politicians' article to change the links would be great. Thank you! Frijfuhs (talk) 13:53, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

:Thank you as well! The constituency articles are a great effort in expanding our coverage of this topic and I will definitely be helping out in linking to them, not only in future articles, but also in previously created articles too. Cilidus (talk) 14:05, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
::That's awesome, thank you! Frijfuhs (talk) 18:16, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

Hey, me again. Another thing I've noticed is that you are adding the birth place after the birth date in the brackets. While that's correct on German Wikipedia, it goes against the style guide ↗ on English Wikipedia so it'd be great if you just put the link into the Infobox until the page is expanded to include a proper biography. Also a side note about the constituencies, ideally use "(constituency)" rather than "(electoral district)" for redlinks whenever necessary since that's the correct English translation. Again, thanks for creating these pages! Frijfuhs (talk) 17:58, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

:The birth place is not being added to the brackets by me, but rather by various temporary accounts including ~2026-64640-0 ↗, so I would suggest trying to get ahold of them to resolve this. You are also correct about constituencies and I will be doing this going forward; in the past, I have followed the pattern used in articles such as North Rhine-Westphalia (Bundestag electoral district) ↗ and Frankfurt (Oder) (electoral district) ↗. Cilidus (talk) 19:14, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
::I see, very weird. I'll try to contact them but if it's actually changing users that may be fruitless endeavor. The constituencies using "(electoral district)" are all relatively recent creations as far as I can tell. Older articles do use the "(constituency)" suffix I believe. It doesn't really matter either way though since there'll be redirects to the correct one anyways, would be nice if someone who has experience with that could fully standardize them via bots. In the case of Jorge, the article subject is a 21st-century politician, while in the above linked edits, the subject is a 16th-century theologian. This also applies to other similar edits, such as this one ↗, where wrestler Cedric Alexander ↗ is said to be a former president of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives ↗. In some cases, I add a disambiguation to the wikilink, such as Christian Schäfer (handballer) ↗, while in others I do not believe the subject to be notable, such as Luigi Gallo ↗. In the future, I will add more disambiguators, resulting in fewer outright removals of these links. I did not add a disambiguation to Jorge, as I could not find compelling evidence of notability.
