Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :David Notoane ↗
48px|left|alt=|link= ↗
{{Quote box|quote=<p>If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article ↗.</p><p>You may want to consider using the Article Wizard ↗ to help you create articles.</p>|width=20%|align=right}}
A tag has been placed on :David Notoane ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate ↗ how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable ↗.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=David+Notoane|deleting administrator}}. <!-- Template:Db-notability-notice --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> PopoDameron (talk) 01:35, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
Proposed deletion ↗ of David Notoane ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article David Notoane ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy ↗, this '''biography of a living person ↗''' will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source ↗ that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners ↗, or ask at the help desk ↗. Once you have provided at least one reliable source ↗, you may remove the {{tl|prod blp/dated}} tag. '''Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced.''' If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can {{#ifexist:David Notoane|request that it be undeleted|request that it be undeleted ↗}} when you are ready to add one.<!-- Template:ProdwarningBLP --> <span style="border:1px solid black;color:red; padding:1px;background:1h5h1h; color: #008B8B;"><b>78.26</b></span> (spin me / revolutions ↗) 02:17, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm FMSky. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, :Alex Gasperoni ↗, but you didn't provide a reliable source ↗. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation ↗ and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners ↗. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-unsourced1 --> FMSky (talk) 18:53, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
:Thanks for your advice. I've found my mistake when I found nothing backing up my claim of this guy's name being "Alessandro Gasperoni". However, this page also had some formatting errors, so I fixed them.
:Dancing Hippos (talk) 13:19, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
::Wait, so you inserted "Alessandro" because you GUESSED that was his name?! --FMSky (talk) 21:37, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
:::It's not like that. I thought he was named according to the Italian naming conventions.

Cut-and-paste moves
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi, and thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give :Mohammed Al Rubaie ↗ a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move ↗", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history ↗, which is legally required for attribution ↗. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be ''moved'' to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits ↗, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab ↗ at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu ↗ for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect ↗ from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves ↗ to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-c&pmove --> * Pppery * it has begun... 16:07, 10 October 2022 (UTC)

Your CE of Tham Luang cave rescue ↗
Hello {{u|Dancing Hippos}}. Thank you for copy-editing ↗ the article Tham Luang cave rescue ↗. The edits you made were minor, but they do seem to have improved the article slightly. Just a friendly piece of advice though: if you CE an article, try using as little edits as possible. Preferably, keep everything in one edit, instead of a large number of small edits. This will make it easier for others to see what you did. Also, don't forget to use edit summaries. 😉 Cheers, <span style="font-variant:small-caps;">Manifestation <small>(talk)</small></span> 15:56, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this '''anonymous survey ↗'''.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page ↗ and view its privacy statement ↗ .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,

Edit summaries
Hi @Dancing Hippos, I've noticed that you're not in the habit of summarizing ↗ the edits you make on this platform. Edit summaries are not optional, as they are part of WP policies and guidelines ↗, and they are important in helping other users understand the purpose of changes made to an article as well as potentially preventing conflicts with editors who may consider unsummarized edits random or disruptive. I hope you understand and that you will strive to improve in this area. Cheers! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 13:47, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
"Ollie"
Per my previous summaries, adding "Ollie" to Oliver Bearman ↗ violates MOS:HYPOCORISM ↗—as does the construction '''"Ollie"''' instead of "'''Ollie'''" (read MOS:QUOTENAME ↗). It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people ↗, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page ↗. Calling people a convict needs particularly good sourcing. I noticed that you were also editing articles about the Eurovision show in general, but you didn't call John Cobra a convict there; maybe you knew there are more watchers on Eurovision pages than on a Spanish web forum article. The sources provided did not refer to Cobra as a convict, nor does his page on Spanish Wikipedia, which just says there was an accusation. We have an in-depth article here from broadsheet newspaper ''El País ↗'', that says he was known for videos of martial arts and other fighting, but didn't say he was a convict. https://archive.ph/ITkja ↗ For the benefit of the doubt, he was convicted in February 2011 https://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2011/01/20/valencia/1295517008.html ↗ but that doesn't let you off the hook because you provided no source for your claim. In addition, it's highly trivial to refer to him as a "convict" for something he was convicted of a year after the Eurovision event, which is also trivial in the history of ForoCoches. We wouldn't say that Hypnotize (The Notorious B.I.G. song) ↗ was written and produced by the convict P Diddy. <!-- Template:uw-biog1 -->

Iraq names at the Futsal Asian Cup
In Iraqi naming conventions a person's full name is usually made up of three parts: the given name, the father's name, and the family (last) name. However in Iraq players are commonly known by their Given name-Father name combination; the short form uses both the first (given) name and the father's name togethers see FIFA Summer Olympic reports etc.. You can't shorten it to just one of them since many people share the same given name or the same father's name. Lunar Spectrum96 (talk) 09:47, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
