Managing a conflict of interest
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, David Condrey. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about ↗ on the page :Henry Scott (journalist) ↗, you may have a conflict of interest ↗ (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. We ask that you:
- '''Avoid editing or creating''' articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors
- '''Disclose''' your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see {{Section link|Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI}})
- '''Propose changes''' on the talk pages ↗ of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard ↗), including links or details of reliable sources ↗ that support your suggestions
- '''Avoid linking''' to your organization's website in other articles (see {{Section link|Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming}})
In addition, you are '''required''' by the Wikimedia Foundation ↗'s terms of use ↗ to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation for any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure ↗.
See the '''FAQ for article subjects ↗''' for more information.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting ↗ anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.<!-- THE FOLLOWING CATEGORY SHOULD BE REMOVED IF THE USER IS BLOCKED, OR IT IS DECIDED THAT THIS USER DOES NOT HAVE A COI, OR THIS TEMPLATE HAS BEEN IN PLACE FOR A WHILE WITH NO ACTION. -->{{#ifexpr: ({{#time: U | now}} - 1783049398) < 13150000 | {{PAGENAME}} ↗ | }}<!-- Template:uw-coi --> '''<span style="color:#00d5ff !important">Zack</span><span style="color:#007F94 !important">mann</span>''' (Talk to me ↗/<span style="color:orange !important">What I been doing</span> ↗) 03:29, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
: Thanks for the note. Before making any edits to the article I posted a conflict-of-interest disclosure and a summary of the changes on the article talk page (Talk:Henry Scott (journalist)#Problems with this page ↗), and committed there to using {{tl|edit COI}} requests for any further substantive changes. To respond usefully, could you clarify whether the revert was based on the COI itself, on sourcing concerns, or on specific content? I would like to re-submit the sourced material through edit requests once I understand which of those it is. <span style="word-spacing:-1px;color:#6C879C;font-variant:small-caps;text-decoration:none;">'''David Condrey'''</span> log ↗ talk 21:07, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
::AS you have a very clear and disclosed COI, do not make any edits to the page. You can request an edit be made but you should not be making edits to someone who you have a connection to.
