License tagging for File:Devinci logo.png
Thanks for uploading :File:Devinci logo.png ↗. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags ↗ to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list ↗, click on this link ↗, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions ↗. Thank you for your cooperation.<-- User:OrphanBot/untagged-new --> --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :GAVI Alliance ↗

A tag has been placed on :GAVI Alliance ↗, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗.) Please read the guidelines on spam ↗ and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business ↗ for more information.
- It appears to be a clear copyright ↗ infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of ''information'', but not as a source of ''sentences''. This part is crucial: ''say it in your own words''. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators '''will be blocked from editing ↗'''. <p>If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you ''must'' verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines ↗ to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk ↗.</p>
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit '''the page's talk page directly ↗''' to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. <span style="border:1px solid #900;padding:2px;background:#fffff4"><span style="color:#900;font-size:110%;font-family:Mistral">GregJackP</span> <span style="color:#900;font-size:60%">Boomer!</span></span> 18:46, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
April - National Contribution Month
<div class="plainlinks">Good day Dhodges,
During the month of April, Wikimedia Canada is preparing the National Contribution Month ↗, and we are looking for experienced contributors to organize a contribution day (or half-day) in their region.

Beside improving articles, a goal of this participatory workshops is to initiate neophyte in the cooperative contribution of Wikipedia.
If you are interested in organizing or participating in a contribution day in your region, communicate witht he national team on the project's talk page ↗. The exact agenda of each local event is left to the discretion of the organizer. Help is available for the organization from contributors who already organized these type of days, so don't be worried. Welcome to the August 2013 issue of the WikiProject Christianity newsletter. We focus on the historical Jesus and reflect on the last month.
The project has another featured picture, The ruins of Holyrood Chapel ↗, a digitisation of an oil-on-canvas painting. Our top-importance article, Jesus ↗, has been nominated for Featured Article status, the discussion can be seen here ↗; Knights of Colombus ↗ has also been nominated as a FAC.
Ecgbert (bishop) ↗ and Church architecture in Scotland ↗ have both this month achieved Good Article ↗ status.
Our project had several of its articles featured in the main page DYK section, including Hinckley Priory ↗, Little Chapel ↗, St Peter's Church, Ropsley ↗, Chip Ingram ↗, St John the Evangelist's Church, Corby Glen ↗, Great George Street Congregational Church ↗, St Mary's Church, Walton-on-the-Hill ↗ and Bunge church ↗.
Our thanks go to all of those who have worked to achieve these article milestones.

What was Jesus like? What did he preach? Did he claim to be the Messiah? Did he predict an apocalypse? What can we know about him outside a religious context? The '''Historical Jesus ↗''' article discusses what can be known about Jesus with various degrees of probability. While scholars agree on the over all flow and outline of Jesus' life (his baptism by John ↗, debated Jewish authorities, healings, and his crucifixion ↗ by Pilate) they have built various and diverging portraits of the rest of his life. These range from minimalist portraits that accept very little of the gospel accounts to maximalists who accept most of the accounts as historical.
The portraits of Jesus have at times been unwitting reflections of the researchers themselves, and Crossan ↗ once quipped that some authors "do autobiography and call it biography". However, the study of historical Jesus has made one thing clear: there is so much to learn about Jesus that the more one looks, the more there is to discover.

Edit-a-Thon Information
Hello edit-a-thon attendees!
I have posted a list of topics relevant to the Chinese Galleries on the edit-a-thon meet-up page ↗. Please sign up for a subject and if possible try to do a little research on your own. Don’t worry if you have trouble finding information because we will help you with research during the event! A few reminders: Everyone should meet me (MJMcGowan) at the museum’s staff entrance at 8:45 on Friday to sign-in at the security desk. We will then travel to the Far Eastern Library as a group. Please also be sure to bring your own laptop, as the ROM will not have computers available. I have also noticed that many of our new e-volunteers have yet to set up their user pages. Please do this prior to the event. Directions can be found here ↗.
Also please go to the Get started section on the ROM’s Volunteer page ↗ and watch the two lectures by Wikipedia expects. These videos will give you a good idea about what our project is all about. Please feel free to leave a message on my talk page with questions. Thanks 21:32, 14 August 2013 (UTC) MJMcGowan
::Hello Dhodges, It was wonderful to meet you today, I hope you enjoyed the event. Jack wanted me to ask if you perhaps mistakenly took home a small pamphlet regarding the Imperial Palace Reconstruction. It is part of the Far Eastern Library's collection and he was having trouble finding it. Could you please let me know if you accidentally grabbed it so I can tell him whether or not he has to keep looking for it. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks and regards MJMcGowan 22:07, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Jane Ash Poitras
Hello Dhodges,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Jane Ash Poitras ↗ for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

File permission problem with File:Palace Hall reconstruction.jpg
64px|left|alt=|link= ↗
Thanks for uploading ''':File:Palace Hall reconstruction.jpg ↗'''. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA ↗ or another acceptable free license (see this list ↗) '''at the site of the original publication'''; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to '''permissions-en@wikimedia.org''', stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here ↗. If you take this step, add {{tl|OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to '''permissions-en@wikimedia.org'''.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content ↗, use a tag such as {{tl|non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use ↗, and add a rationale ↗ justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags ↗ for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in [{{fullurl:Special:Log|type=upload&user=Dhodges}} your upload log]. '''Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged''', as described on criteria for speedy deletion ↗. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy ↗. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page ↗. Thank you.<!-- Template:Di-no permission-notice --> Stefan2 (talk) 21:16, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Сретение Господне ("The Meeting of the Lord"), a depiction of Simeon recognising Jesus at the Temple, from a fifteenth-century Novgorodskye School Russian icon.|right|205px ↗
'''''A Song for Simeon''''', is a 37-line poem written in 1928 by American-English poet T. S. Eliot ↗ (1888–1965). It is one of five poems ↗ that Eliot contributed to the ''Ariel poems ↗'' series of 38 pamphlets by several authors published by Faber and Gwyer ↗. "A Song for Simeon" was the sixteenth in the series and included an illustration by avant garde ↗ artist Edward McKnight Kauffer ↗. The poem's narrative echoes the text of the {{lang|la|Nunc dimittis ↗|italic=no}}, a liturgical prayer for Compline ↗ from the Gospel passage. Eliot introduces literary allusions to earlier writers Lancelot Andrewes ↗, Dante Alighieri ↗ and St. John of the Cross ↗. Critics have debated whether Eliot's depiction of Simeon is a negative portrayal of a Jewish figure and evidence of anti-Semitism ↗ on Eliot's part.
