Welcome!

Hello and welcome ↗ to Wikipedia ↗. Thank you for your contributions ↗. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

'''Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:'''

The Wikipedia tutorial ↗ is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages ↗, add a question to the village pump ↗ or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: &#126;&#126;&#126;&#126; (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!<!-- Template:Welcomelaws --> — Diannaa (talk) 15:18, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

:Thanks, Dianna, for the notice. Thanks, Dianna, for the notice. Yes, I committed a copyright problem during my introduction to the Bafuliiru history, and I have been working relentlessly to get rid of that introduction. I’m still working on the intro portion where I copy Kikuyu’s old text. Thanks! EdwinAlden.1995 (talk) 20:39, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

Lulenge ↗ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Lulenge ↗. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because '''it needs reliable sources to establish notability'''.
Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page ↗.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:50, 16 March 2023 (UTC)

:Hello there! I have added additional sources to the article, and it is ready for publication; however, I don’t see the “Submit your draft for review!” option. So what can I do after I add more information like citations, the history of the locality, and the recent conflicts that have haunted the region? EdwinAlden.1995 (talk) 08:09, 16 March 2023 (UTC)

{{divbox|blue|3=<!-- Template:Twocopies -->
Two copies of this page have been created, in draft space and in article space. It is not necessary to create two copies of the same page, and it annoys the reviewers. This is sometimes done in order to bypass Articles for Creation review. However, if a submitter is ready to have the article in article space, it can be moved ↗ into article space, rather than creating a copy. It is common for a page that has been duplicated in draft space and in article space to be nominated for deletion ↗ or proposed for deletion ↗.

If the article is kept, this draft should be redirected to the article. If the article is deleted, this draft may be kept for future improvement.

:Hello, Robert McClenon! I was unaware, but I appreciate you for notifying me. Is there any possibility of moving the article into the article space because I can’t see any option at my fingertips? EdwinAlden.1995 (talk) 05:17, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
::User:EdwinAlden.1995 - What are you asking for? You created two copies of Lulenge ↗, one in draft space, and one in article space. The copy in draft space has been redirected to the copy in article space. What do you want? !!!!

Thank you

Featuring your work on Wikipedia's front page: DYKs

Thank you for your recent articles, including Lemera massacre ↗, which I read with interest. When you create an extensive and well referenced article, you may want to have it featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section ↗. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list at T:TDYK ↗. This can be also done through this helpful user script: User:SD0001/DYK-helper. Let me know if you need help, Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus&#124;<span style="color:#7CFC00;background:#006400;"> reply here</span> 05:38, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

:Hi @Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus
:I am trying to feature several works on Wikipedia’s main page in the ‘Did You Know’ section, such as Fally Ipupa ↗, South Kivu ↗, Bwito Chiefdom ↗, Stade des Martyrs ↗, Walungu Territory ↗, Kaziba Chiefdom ↗, Ngweshe Chiefdom ↗, and more. However, I am struggling with how to start, particularly when it comes to adding these articles to the ‘Did You Know’ section. EdwinAlden.1995 (talk) 05:03, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
::Try using the SD001 DYK helper script, it gives you a pop up window with some items to fill and you are done. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus&#124;<span style="color:#7CFC00;background:#006400;"> reply here</span> 06:30, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages

Thank you for your recent articles, including Lemera massacre ↗, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment ↗ templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like <nowiki>{{WikiProject Keyword}}</nowiki> to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You can also use a friendly script for that. You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts ↗ and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts ↗, Popular Pages ↗, Quality and Importance Matrix ↗ and the Cleanup Listing ↗. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus&#124;<span style="color:#7CFC00;background:#006400;"> reply here</span> 05:38, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

New project for you

Hi @EdwinAlden.1995, it's my turn to offer you a project to sink your teeth into. I stumbled across this page ↗, and as you can see, it's a disaster. The history section is barely referenced, and I was about to delete most of it, when I thought of you. Let me know if you'd be interested to work on it, otherwise, I'll probably just delete all unreferenced content and reduce it to bare bones. Cheers! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 03:32, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for all of your work on the Verckys ↗ page. (And why doesn't "Verckys" link to it, for someone always known by just one name? There's another needed fix!) Thank you and request for feedback

I hope this is not too informal, but thank you for all your work on articles pertaining to the DRC and M23. It's nice to see others so involved in expanding articles significantly! <3

I just now expanded the M23's motivations for fighting since the renewed 2022 offensive ↗ and wanted your input per your experience and expertise. Furthermore, the number of articles analyzing their motives could warrant significant expansion to this section.

Furthermore, I am working on history and development of a new rebel group in Ituri ↗. If you find it interesting, help developing the draft for eventual creation would be amazing! JulDer Wiki (talk) 18:24, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

:@JulDer Wiki, thanks for kinds words. I'll chime in and add more information once I've gathered all my sources. You did well in underlining that M23's claims of fighting for Banyamulenge rights are unfounded, since anti-Tutsi sentiment is not the root of the current crisis. As noted in "The Resurgence of the M23: Regional Rivalries, Donor Policy, and a Stalled Peace Process ↗"'','' the report contradicts the Rwandan government and M23's narrative that the rebellion arose in response to anti-Tutsi violence and FARDC–FDLR collaboration. It argues that "the rise of the M23 has actually intensified these phenomena" and that "M23 has exacerbated the very problems it cites, rather than emerging because of them". Even during the follow-up meeting in October 2019, the group didn't mention anti-Tutsi sentiment. What they negotiated was a roadmap lifting arrest warrants for their leaders, releasing detained members, and reintegrating eligible fighters into FARDC and the National Park Service. As you also noted on the "Motives of M23" subheading, M23 regularly invokes anti-Tutsi rhetoric to mask other motivations and divert attention from their own abuses and war crimes. In July 2020, M23 fighters clashed with FARDC, killing three people. Then in October 2020, an M23 delegation: Lawrence Kanyuka (political advisor/spokesman), Bosco "Castro" Mberabagabo (security and intelligence), and Benjamin Mbonimpa (executive secretary), traveled to Kinshasa. They waited months for engagements and eventually met Interior Minister Gilbert Kankonde, who requested $1.3 million from the presidency to support their "surrender" within nine months. At no point did they mention anti-Tutsi grievances. So did they tell Kinshasa about these alleged anti-Tutsi issues, or were they simply pursuing their own interests? They spent nearly a year in the capital, left, and still never made such claims, until suddenly this year. I could elaborate further, but I'll develop it properly once I have all the materials and time to work on it. EdwinAlden.1995 (talk) 00:14, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
::@EdwinAlden.1995 Of course---it is always nice to see someone with interests as aligned with one's own! You make a good point. It seems like the international eye has always been on the focused on M23's extraction of minerals in the region, yet Rwanda has always stalled with rhetoric about FARDC-FDLR collaboration as you mention. M23's shift in argumentation could very well come from internal tactics suggested by Rwanda or simply learning from Rwandan diplomatic tactics, but it seems like the expert community is mostly uninterested in how the M23 is justifying its offensive, especially in the face of the US shrouding the conflict is toothless peace agreements.
::Please do contribute as you see fit---a second eye on these less covered topics is always good. JulDer Wiki (talk) 05:16, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello my friend, I have two queries for you regarding this page:
# User:MudjonaDobbs has recently made two edits to the page that appear to randomly change the membership list (as seen here ↗ and here ↗). This user has previously made edits to pages that you've worked on, so I'm curious to know what your experience has been like with them. Would you say their contributions have mostly been legitimate/neutral, or do they have a penchant for disruptiveness?
# Speaking of the membership list, are all the names on it verified, per your research?
Cheers! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 08:52, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Revirvlkodlaku, I appreciate you bringing this to my attention since I wasn't aware of it. The band members he added to the membership list of the lead section template were indeed legitimate members, but I don't understand the reason for removing other members just to replace them with people who were not listed in the lead section template when those additional names could have been included in the "Band members" section instead. Seems to me he is trying to prioritize certain well-known musicians in the lead section. EdwinAlden.1995 (talk) 13:28, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
::Fair enough. The user may have good intentions, and a lack of experience could be the cause of their fumbling edits. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 18:25, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
:::Hi. I was hoping to get a little help moving the page from "M'bilia Bel" to "Mbilia Bel", as the current title contains a misspelling. EdwinAlden.1995 (talk) 15:18, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
::::Hi @EdwinAlden.1995, I tried, but it looks like that would fall under technical requests. Have you tried WP:RM ↗? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:50, 1 June 2026 (UTC)

Franco Luambo

:Thank you!
::Hi {{u|EdwinAlden.1995}}, I notice that the name OK Jazz is sometimes spelled in this manner and other times as "O.K. Jazz". I think that should be standardized according to the more common spelling. Cheers! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 12:36, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
:::Hi @Revirvlkodlaku, thanks for catching that. The band's original name was "''OK Jazz''", which is sometimes written as "O.K. Jazz" in certain sources, but the simplified spelling "''OK Jazz''" refers to the same band during its earlier period. They adopted the name "''TPOK Jazz''" in 1971, which remained their established and widely recognized name until they disbanded. For me, since "''TPOK Jazz''" reflects the band's long-standing identity and is the version most commonly associated with their legacy, it makes sense to prioritize "TPOK Jazz" when we are talking about the band today. EdwinAlden.1995 (talk) 16:09, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
::::{{u|EdwinAlden.1995}}, I'm actually referring to something different: The alternate spellings "OK Jazz" and "O.K. Jazz". Which one is standard, and should we equalize it throughout the article? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 19:49, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Kivu conflict

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I worked on the Eastern Congo offensives (2009–2012) ↗ article. It was originally the 2009 Eastern Congo offensive, but I looked into it and realized there were multiple successive offensives that were all related to each other. I thought it would make sense to have one article for all of them, that fills the gap between the August-October 2008 North Kivu offensives and the M23 rebellion starting in the spring of 2012. If you think that anything needs to be added to it, feel free. Romanov loyalist (talk) 13:40, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
