Welcome to the 2024 WikiCup!
Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2024 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found '''here ↗'''. If you have not yet signed up, you can '''add your name here ↗''' and the judges will set up your submissions page ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page ↗. Signups will close on 31 January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will move on to round 2. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: {{User4|Cwmhiraeth}}, {{User4|Epicgenius}}, and {{User4|Frostly}}. And so ends the fourth edition of the monthly rolling contest ↗, as well as the 2023 Tree of Life Contest as a whole. This month saw {{noping|simongraham}} win with a very impressive 120 points from 27 articles. {{noping|Quetzal1964}} was second with 74 points from 37 articles. The annual contest was a close race between simongraham and Quetzal1964; simongraham won first place with 256 points from 64 articles, and Quetzal1964 was second with 250 points from 146 articles. {{noping|Snoteleks}} was third with 79 points from 33 articles. Congratulations to everyone who won this year and my gratitude to everyone else who helped raise the quality of articles in our little corner of Wikipedia this year. Additionally, a very Happy New Year to everyone in the project and here's looking forward to continuing our good work in 2024!

WikiCup 2024 February newsletter
The 2024 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with 135 participants. This is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2017.
Our current leader is newcomer {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Generalissima}}, who has one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher) ↗ and 10 GAs and 12 DYKs mostly on New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|AirshipJungleman29}}, with one FA on Hö'elün ↗, two GAs on Mongolia-related articles, and two DYKs;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Vami IV}}, with one FA on Doom (2016 video game) ↗, one GA on Boundary Fire (2017) ↗, and 11 reviews;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|MaranoFan}}, with one FA on Holidays (Meghan Trainor song) ↗, a nine-article FT on 30 (album) ↗, and two DYKs;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Skyshifter}}, with one FA on OneShot ↗ and one DYK;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Sammi Brie}}, with five GAs and five DYKs on television and radio stations;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|voorts}} and {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Elli}}, both with one FA and one DYK each.
As a reminder, competitors may submit work for the first round until 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February, and the second round starts 1 March. Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round; currently, competitors need at least 15 points to progress. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews ↗. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup ↗ and the judges ({{User|Cwmhiraeth}}, {{User|Epicgenius}}, and {{User|Frostly}}) are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! <small>If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send ↗.</small> MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 17:58, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

WikiCup 2024 March newsletter
The first round of the 2024 WikiCup ended at 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February. Everyone with at least 30 points moved on to Round 2, the highest number of points required to advance to the second round since 2014. Due to a six-way tie for the 64th-place spot, 67 contestants have qualified for Round 2.
The following scorers in Round 1 all scored more than 300 points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Generalissima}}, who has 916 points mostly from one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher) ↗, 15 GAs, and 16 DYKs on a variety of topics including New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures, in addition to seven reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Vami IV}}, who has 790 points from two FAs on Felix M. Warburg House ↗ and Doom (2016 video game) ↗, two GAs, one DYK, and 11 reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|AirshipJungleman29}}, who has 580 points from one FA on Hö'elün ↗, two GAs on Mongolia-related articles, two DYKs, and five reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Sammi Brie}}, who has 420 points mostly from nine GAs and seven DYKs on television and radio stations
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|MaranoFan}}, who has 351 points from one FA on Holidays (Meghan Trainor song) ↗, a nine-article FT on 30 (album) ↗, and three DYKs
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Skyshifter}}, who has 345 points from one FA on OneShot ↗, one DYK and two reviews
In this newsletter, the judges would like to pay a special tribute to {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Vami IV}}, who unfortunately passed away this February. At the time of his death, he was the second-highest-scoring competitor. Outside the WikiCup, he had eight other featured articles, five A-class ↗ articles, eight other good articles, and two Four Award ↗s. Vami also wrote an essay on completionism, a philosophy in which he deeply believed. If you can, please join us in honoring his memory by improving one of the articles on his to-do list.
Remember that any content promoted after 27 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed ↗. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup ↗, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! <small>If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send ↗.</small> MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:40, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

- Our first double issue in almost four years ↗, although we will try to return to a monthly schedule henceforth (incidentally, the last double issue saw Markham's storm petrel ↗ at GAN, and this one sees it finally pass FAC).

'''Backlog update:''' The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to {{no ping|Schminnte}}, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion ↗.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
'''2023 Awards'''
74px|left ↗
{{no ping|Onel5969}} won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. {{no ping|Hey man im josh}} led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page ↗ and the Hall of Fame ↗. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
'''WMF work on PageTriage:''' The WMF Moderator Tools team ↗ and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October ↗, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November ↗. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed ↗, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October ↗. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
'''Recruitment:''' A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
'''Reviewing tip:''' Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser ↗ tool.

'''Reminders:'''
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord ↗.
- Consider adding the project discussion page ↗ to your watchlist.

WikiCup 2024 May newsletter
The second round of the 2024 WikiCup ended on 28 April. This round was particularly competitive: each of the 32 contestants who advanced to Round 3 scored at least 141 points. This is the highest number of points required to advance to Round 3 since 2014.
The following scorers in Round 2 all scored more than 500 points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Sammi Brie}} with 707 points, mostly from 45 good article nomination ↗ reviews and 12 good articles ↗s about radio and television;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|Generalissima}} with 600 points, mostly from 12 good articles and 12 did you know ↗ nominations about coinage and history;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|SounderBruce}} with 552 points, mostly from a featured article ↗ about the 2020 Seattle Sounders FC season ↗, three featured lists ↗, and two good articles;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|BennyOnTheLoose}} with 548 points, mostly from a featured article about the snooker player John Pulman ↗, two featured lists, and one good article;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant15|voorts}} with 530 points, mostly from two featured articles (Well he would, wouldn't he? ↗ and Cora Agnes Benneson ↗) and three good articles.
The full scores for Round 2 can be seen here ↗. So far this year, competitors have gotten 18 featured articles, 22 featured lists, and 186 good articles, 76 in the news ↗ credits and at least 200 did you know ↗ credits. They have conducted 165 featured article reviews, as well as 399 good article reviews and peer reviews, and have added 21 articles to featured topics ↗ and good topics ↗.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed during Round 3, which starts on 1 May at 00:00 (UTC).

- The newsletter will not be returning to a monthly format (mainly because the author is busy failing every exam imaginable) and is on a bimonthly schedule for the foreseeable future.
- The second round of the WikiCup was very competitive, requiring the highest points total to advance since 2014. Two TOL editors, {{noping|AryKun}} and {{noping|Fritzmann2002}}, advanced to the third round.
- The March edition of our monthly rolling contest ↗ was won by {{noping|simongraham}}, who amassed 118 points from 21 articles on various species of jumping spider; in second place was {{noping|Quetzal1964}} with 109 points from 53 articles on marine ray-finned fish.
- Quetzal1964 and simongraham were also the top two in the April edition, although Quetzal was ahead this time, with 68 points to simongraham's 48. In the annual leaderboard, Quetzal and simongraham are in first and second place respectively, with 291 and 246 points; in third place is {{noping|Snotoleks}}, with 76 points.

Book recommendation question
Hi, I have a question about book recommendations for bat species, and was directed at you. I've been writing lists of mammal species for a few years (e.g. List of crocidurines ↗, List of primates ↗, etc.), and have now reached Chiroptera. A lot of the details in these lists can be pulled from the IUCN website, etc., but what really needs a solid reference work is the length/wingspan of each species, as well as their diets. Do you know of any reference works for Chiroptera that go into that level of detail that you would recommend? Thank you. --'''<span class="tmp-color" style="color:green">Pres</span><span class="tmp-color" style="color:blue">N</span>''' 17:14, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
:I tried to get this from the statewide public library link and they accidentally sent me the wrong volume (I got the Rodent one instead). So I haven't actually gotten my hands on it but I think it would be right what you're looking for. Handbook of the Mammals of the World – Volume 9 ↗. And published in 2019, so should have relatively updated taxonomy. Best of luck with making your bat lists! Enwebb (talk) 19:57, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
::Excellent, thank you very much! Hopefully my library system works out a bit better (though I'll need the rodent one too, eventually.) --'''<span class="tmp-color" style="color:green">Pres</span><span class="tmp-color" style="color:blue">N</span>''' 00:22, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
:::Just FYI, I couldn't get this at the library but ended up buying the condensed ''All the Mammals of the World'' (2023) by the same publisher, which has been incredibly helpful so far at List of hipposiderids ↗ and List of rhinolophids ↗, both of which are at FLC. Thanks so much! --'''<span style="color:green">Pres</span><span style="color:blue">N</span>''' 22:25, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this '''anonymous survey ↗'''.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page ↗ and view its privacy statement ↗ .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
WMF Research Team ↗

Welcome to the 2025 WikiCup!
Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2025 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor, we hope the WikiCup will give you a chance to improve your editing skills as you go.
For the 2025 WikiCup, we've implemented several changes ↗ to the scoring system. The highest-ranking contestants will now receive tournament points ↗ at the end of each round, and final rankings are decided by the number of tournament points each contestant has. If you're busy and can't sign up in January, don't worry: Signups are now open throughout the year. To make things fairer for latecomers, the lowest-scoring contestants will no longer be eliminated at the end of each round.
The first round will end on 26 February. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: {{User4|Cwmhiraeth}}, {{User4|Epicgenius}}, {{User4|Frostly}}, {{User4|Guerillero}} and {{User4|Lee Vilenski}}. WikiCup 2025 March newsletter
The first round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As a reminder, we are no longer disqualifying the lowest-scoring contestants; everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned from Wikipedia. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receive tournament points ↗ at the end of each round. Unlike the round points in the main WikiCup table ↗, which are reset at the end of each round, tournament points are carried over between rounds and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers. This table ↗ shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far.
Round 1 was very competitive compared with previous years; two contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 500 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|Gog the Mild}} with 1,168 round points, mainly from 4 featured articles ↗ and 4 good articles ↗ on old military history, in addition to an assortment of GA and FA reviews.
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|Generalissima}} with 1,095 round points, mainly from 2 FAs, 2 featured lists ↗, 8 GAs, and 16 Did You Know ↗ articles mainly on historical topics.
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|BeanieFan11}}, with 866 round points from 20 GAs, 23 DYKs, and 2 In the News ↗ articles primarily about athletes.
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|Sammi Brie}}, with 846 round points from 16 GAs about radio and TV stations, 45 GA reviews, and 3 DYKs.
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|Hey man im josh}}, with 816 round points from 5 FLs about sports and Olympic topics, 46 FL reviews, 3 ITN articles, and a large number of bonus points.
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|MaranoFan}}, with 815 round points primarily from 3 FAs and 1 GA about music, in addition to 9 article reviews.
The full scores for round 1 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 18 featured articles, 26 featured lists, 1 featured-topic article, 197 good articles, 38 good-topic articles and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 23 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 550 reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2, which begins on 1 March. WikiCup 2025 May newsletter
The second round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 28 April at 23:59 UTC. To reiterate what we said in the previous newsletter, we are no longer disqualifying contestants based on how many points (now known as round points) they received. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receive tournament points ↗ at the end of each round. These tournament points are carried over between rounds, and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers at the end of each round. This table ↗ shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned.
Round 2 was quite competitive. Four contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and eight scored more than 500 points (including one who has withdrawn). The following competitors scored at least 800 points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|BeanieFan11}} with 1,233 round points from 24 good articles ↗, 28 Did you know ↗ articles, and one In the news ↗ nomination, mainly about athletes and politicians
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|Thebiguglyalien}} with 1,127 round points, almost entirely from two high-multiplier featured articles ↗ on Black Widow (Natasha Romanova) ↗ and Grace Coolidge ↗, in addition to two GAs and two reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|History6042}} with 1,088 round points from four featured lists ↗ about Michelin-starred restaurants, nine good articles and a good topic ↗ mostly on Olympic-related subjects, seven ITN articles, and dozens of reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|Gog the Mild}} with 1,085 round points from three FAs, one GA, and four DYKs on military history, as well as 18 reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|Arconning}} with 887 round points, mostly from four FLs, six GAs, and seven DYKs on Olympic topics, along with more than two dozen reviews
In addition, we would like to recognize {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant16|Generalissima}} for her efforts; she scored 801 round points but withdrew before the end of the round.
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 13 featured articles, 20 featured lists, 4 featured-topic articles, 138 good articles, 7 good-topic articles, and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 19 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 300 reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Welcome to the 2026 WikiCup!
Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2026 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor, we hope the WikiCup will give you a chance to improve your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found '''here ↗'''. If you have not yet signed up, you can '''add your name here ↗''', and a bot will set up your submissions page within one day, ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page ↗.
For the 2026 WikiCup, the highest-ranking contestants will receive tournament points ↗ at the end of each round, and final rankings are decided by the number of tournament points each contestant has. This is the same scoring system that we had last year. If you're busy and can't sign up in January, don't worry: Signups are open throughout the year. To make things fairer for latecomers, the lowest-scoring contestants are no longer eliminated at the end of each round.
The first round will end on 26 February. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: {{User4|Cwmhiraeth}}, {{User4|Epicgenius}}, {{User4|Frostly}}, {{User4|Guerillero}} and {{User4|Lee Vilenski}}. WikiCup 2026 March newsletter
The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP ↗. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Bgsu98}} with 1,467 round points, largely gained from 1 featured article ↗, 5 featured lists ↗, 15 good articles ↗, and 42 FAC and GAN reviews;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Olliefant}} with 1,246 round points, largely from 4 featured lists, 9 good articles, 2 featured topic ↗ articles, 4 did you know ↗ articles, and 75 FAC and GAN reviews;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Generalissima}} with 1,095 round points, largely from 3 featured articles, 6 good articles, and 5 did you know articles;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|MCE89}} with 848 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 32 FAC and GAN reviews; and
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Rollinginhisgrave}} with 838 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 14 FAC, GAN, and peer reviews.
The full scores for round 1 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 7 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 168 good articles, 13 good-topic articles and more than 50 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 14 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted nearly 700 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ will be updated within the next few days.
Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. WikiCup 2026 May newsletter
The second round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 April. As a reminder for contestants who just joined or are unaware of recent changes to our round-points system, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP ↗. Peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 2 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; nine scored over 500; and fourteen scored over 300. The top seven contestants had at least one featured article ↗ (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|MCE89}} with 1,333 points, mainly from good and featured articles about Australian people and geography
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Generalissima}} with 1,169 points, mainly from good and featured articles related to shipping ethics controversy in fanfiction ↗, waterways, and Gu Yanwu ↗
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Bgsu98}} with 1,149 points, mainly from good articles, featured articles, and featured lists about figure skating, along with many article reviews and two good topics
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Olliefant}} with 830 points, mainly from good and featured articles about television shows, episodes and media, along with nearly four dozen good and featured article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Gommeh}} with 827 points, mainly from good and featured articles related to ''Genshin Impact ↗'' and ''Honkai: Star Rail''
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 13 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 106 good articles, 22 good-topic articles and more than 40 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 3 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted over 200 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ has been updated.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. '''May backlog drive'''
An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026 ↗.
'''PageTriage'''
An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed ↗ to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket ↗ if you're interested in following along.
