Question from Chatcatcart on Draft:Samantha Vargas-Alfonso ↗ (21:53, 24 June 2026)
I want to put a picture on an article I want to have reviewed please --Chatcatcart (talk) 21:53, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:@Chatcatcart Welcome to Wikipedia! I added some information to your Talk page here to help you get started. Make sure all edits you make to Wikipedia cite WP:RELIABLE ↗ and WP:INDEPENDENT ↗ published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. Always use a reliable source, such as an academic journal article or another high-quality reference. Avoid blogs, corporate websites, reviews, press releases, opinion pieces, facts, allegations, ideas, personal experiences, and sources where we cannot determine author expertise or bias, as they are considered original research ↗. For images, check out the guidance here ↗. FULBERT (talk) 14:17, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
Question from Chidivictor on Phishing ↗ (10:58, 29 June 2026)
How can I hack tiktok account --Chidivictor (talk) 10:58, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
:@Chidivictor Wikipedia is not a forum WP:FORUM ↗ and not a social network WP:NOTSOCIALNETWORK ↗. All discussions, including on Talk pages WP:TALK ↗, should present work that furthers the goal of the encyclopedia WP:PILLARS ↗. FULBERT (talk) 14:22, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
Fulbert, Marty watt here First Performance Poet
Fulbert, what has happened to our exchange about correcting the "Performance Poetry" article here on Wikipedia? Marty Watt (talk) 19:57, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
:@Marty Watt As I mentioned here and here, you should specify what you think should be edited and provide evidence. Your reply was not specific on what you thought should be changed, and the sources you mentioned did not include the full citations ↗ so people following the page may not have known exactly what you were requesting. I recommend doing this as a reply, and being specific on what you believe should change and what exact sources you are suggesting with their citations. FULBERT (talk) 14:31, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
::Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone was ready for all the citations etc evidence sources dates. Of course, the other problem is no one ever deals with the article or its "talk." Can't see how anything about it would change if there's never anyone involved with it?
::Thanks for the quick reply. Marty Watt (talk) 18:08, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
:::@Marty Watt There are 65 people who watch that article ↗, so you never know how many of them see it. This is more a reason to provide full information as that makes their lift easier and thus easier to agree the changes may be helpful. FULBERT (talk) 20:34, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
::::Oh, I didn't KNOW that. Is it knowable? 65 people who CURRENTLY watch it? Okay, I'll get to work. Thanks so much again. Marty Watt (talk) 20:49, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
Question from Caleb cha on KC Masterpiece ↗ (00:31, 4 July 2026)
Hi --Caleb cha (talk) 00:31, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
:@Caleb cha Welcome to Wikipedia! I added some information to your Talk page here to help you get started. You're invited to the Mentorship noticeboard
Hi, FULBERT. You are cordially invited to the brand new Wikipedia:Mentorship noticeboard ↗. I get the impression sometimes that we mentors are each toiling in our own cubbyhole or hamster wheel, quietly answering mentee questions with little to no interaction with other mentors. I think we have a lot to share and learn from each other, and I know it will make me feel better just having the opportunity to interact with you and other mentors there, and I hope it will for you, too. Look forward to seeing you there! Mathglot (talk) 06:54, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
:@Mathglot Thanks for this, and I agree with everything you said. You may want to include a link to this on the Mentor Dashboard, since I am not sure people will otherwise be able to find this easily. FULBERT (talk) 14:34, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
:: Good idea in principle, but we have no control over the dashboard, as it is Wikimedia software. We can make suggestions for changes to it, though. As far as others finding the Noticeboard, I'm rolling it out slowly while I get the bugs out, but will eventually mention it at some central location(s) ↗. But once the bugs are out and if the new noticeboard catches on a bit and seems to be worthwhile, we can try to muster up support for a link to it from the dashboard at the noticeboard itself, and then maybe present it as a dashboard enhancement proposal to the mediawiki Growth team ↗, who would be the ones to prioritize and carry out, if they agreed to do it. I like the idea, but let's let the noticeboard mature a bit first, to strengthen our case. And you can always raise this idea, which I think is a good one, on the Noticeboard itself. Thanks for thinking up this idea! Mathglot (talk) 18:26, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

Wikimedia Foundation Bulletin 2026 Issue 12
<section begin="content" />
<div class="plainlinks">
150px|right|class=skin-invert|link= ↗
<div style="margin-top:10px; padding-left:5px; font-family:Georgia, Palatino, Palatino Linotype, Times, Times New Roman, serif;">''Here is a quick overview of highlights from the Wikimedia Foundation since our last issue on June 19. Please help translate ↗.''
This edition uses the new annual plan goals ↗ for this fiscal year (July 2026–June 2027).</div>
<div style="clear:both"></div>
----
'''Highlights'''
- '''Wikipedia 25''': Wikipedia's 25th birthday was celebrated with various projects designed to grow awareness and support for Wikipedia and the people who make it possible. This includes the virtual birthday event on January 15, which garnered 10,000 live viewers and 15,000 reactions. Find more details on all related projects and results in the program report ↗.
- '''Sustainable use of Wikimedia infrastructure''': A valid user-agent string will now be required for automated dumps downloads from the dumps.wikimedia.org website. Automated requests that provide a generic or empty user-agent will be blocked. This extends enforcement ↗ of the long standing user-agent policy ↗. Access to dumps through Wikimedia Cloud Services will not change.
- '''Increasing account creation''': The experiment ↗ providing direct access to “Create account” and “Log in” actions on mobile increased account creation by about 20% without negatively affecting edit quality. The feature will now be rolled out to all wikis ↗ on mobile web.
'''Annual Goals Progress on Engage ↗'''<br/><small>''See also: Growth ↗ · Product Safety and Integrity ↗ · Tech News ↗ · Language and Internationalization ↗ · The Wikipedia Library ↗ · list of movement events ↗ · Wikifunctions & Abstract Wikipedia ↗''</small>
thumb|250px|With Sub-referencing editors can reuse and add details to a main reference. ↗
- '''Add A Link''': The Foundation deployed Add A Link ↗ as a default-on suggestion within Suggestion Mode ↗. It is now launched on all wikis to all editors who have opted in to the Suggestion Beta Feature.
- '''Reusing references''': Sub-referencing ↗, the new MediaWiki feature that allows editors to reuse references with different details, was deployed to most small and medium-sized Wikipedia language versions.
- '''Wikifunctions''': Check out the 71 new functions ↗ with implementations to get a taste of what functions have been created.
- '''Range calculator''': The special page Special:RangeCalculator ↗ has been created. It allows users to find an IP range without needing to rely on external tools. Until now, this tool was only available to CheckUsers.
- '''Captcha verification''': Abuse filters that are set to “require CAPTCHA verification” now also affect users ↗ with the <code>skipcaptcha</code> right, which includes most autoconfirmed users. Bots are exempted. This change only affects edits that trigger an abuse filter.
- '''Latest experiments''': An upcoming experiment ↗ is testing two variations of a "thank you" badge shown to donors after a recent donation to deepen the relationship between donors and the Wikimedia movement. See all live, upcoming, and completed experiments in Product & Technology ↗.
- '''Account security on private wikis''': Two-factor authentication ↗ will become mandatory for user accounts on private wikis. This will protect private information from being exposed by an account with a compromised password.
- '''Tech News''': The latest highlights from Tech News week 26 ↗ and 27 ↗ include users will now get a notification when they are blocked or unblocked from editing, or if this block changes. See also the 65 community submitted tasks that were resolved over the last two weeks.
- '''Team Challenges''': The core organizing team for Wikimania is introducing Team Challenges ↗, a different approach to Wikimania Hackathon. This year, Wikimedians and professionals from other fields will join forces to undertake one of the 2026 technical challenges.
'''Annual Goals Progress on Enable ↗'''<br/><small>''See also: Research newsletter ↗ · WikiLearn News ↗ · other newsletters on MediaWiki.org ↗''</small>
- '''Wikimedia Hackathon''': A look at the 2026 edition of Wikimedia Hackathon ↗ which brought together 216 participants from 29 countries building, collaborating, and shaping the future together.
- '''Wikimedia Hubs''': The Hub Fund ↗ will pause funding for new pilots ↗ in fiscal year 2026–2027 to align with the work on the Ecosystem of Movement Organizations and the Global Resource Distribution Committee. Existing pilots in transition will be offered an additional year of funding.
'''Annual Goals Progress on Protect ↗'''<br/><small>''See also: Global Advocacy blog ↗ · Global Advocacy Newsletter ↗ · Policy blog ↗''</small>
- '''Open Knowledge And Digital Rights''': Wikimedians shared their reflections ↗ on how Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum reinforced the role of our movement within broader digital rights conversations.
'''Annual Goals Progress on Reach ↗'''<br/><small>''See also: Wikimedia Apps ↗ · Readers ↗''</small>
- '''Journalism Award''': Wikimedia Foundation announced ↗ three journalists from Africa as recipients of the Open the Knowledge Journalism Awards, ↗ run in partnership with the International Center for Journalists ↗ (ICFJ). The awards celebrate the essential role journalists play in creating well-researched articles that volunteer editors can use as source materials to develop content on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. In total, 320 submissions were received from 40 African countries.

Question from Dianakelvin254 (23:12, 8 July 2026)
Hello, thank you so much for being my mentor. I’m excited to learn more about contributing to Wikipedia and appreciate your guidance.
I recently noticed that our website appears to be blocked or restricted on Wikipedia, and I would really appreciate your advice on how to understand the reason behind it and what steps I can take to resolve the issue properly.
I want to make sure I follow Wikipedia’s guidelines and policies correctly, and I would be grateful if you could guide me on the best way to review the situation or request a resolution if needed.
Thank you very much for your time and support. I truly appreciate your help. --Dianakelvin254 (talk) 23:12, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
:@Dianakelvin254Welcome to Wikipedia! With this said, can you tell me more about what you mean, since you seem to be able to edit Wikipedia now? FULBERT (talk) 23:54, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
::Thank you so much for the warm welcome and for adding those helpful notes to my Talk page. I really appreciate your guidance.
::Sorry if my earlier message was not clear. My account is working fine and I am able to edit Wikipedia. The issue is only with the website/domain I was trying to reference. I noticed that it appears to be listed in Wikipedia’s blocked external domains list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:BlockedExternalDomains.json ↗
::Since I’m still learning, I would really appreciate your help in understanding what this means and why a domain might be added there. I also want to make sure I handle this properly and follow Wikipedia’s policies, especially around reliable and independent sources.
::Could you please guide me on the correct way to check the reason for the block and whether there is a proper process to request a review or removal, if it is appropriate?
::Thank you again for mentoring me and taking the time to help. I truly appreciate it.

Question from Nilakshigigi (14:41, 9 July 2026)
Hello, do let me know how my edits are going. I would love to get a feedback on my edits. --Nilakshigigi (talk) 14:41, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:@Nilakshigigi As initial edits, they appear fine. One way to know this is by NOT hearing anything. People tend to revert or remove your edits if there are problems, so in this case, no news is good news!
