Template: Montreal Canadiens roster ↗

For further explanation of my 'removal' of accent, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice hockey ↗. -- GoodDay (talk) 20:46, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
:More specifically, Wikipedia has had a long running string of disputes over whether or not to use diacritics and accent marks, mainly on the basis of the fact that North American English rarely uses them. After considerable debate, the project settled on the compromise that they would be hidden, per North American English standards, on articles related to North American teams and leagues, but would be shown on player articles and articles related to European teams and leagues. This effectively is based around the WP:ENGVAR ↗ guideline. Since the Canadiens roster template is focused around two North American team articles, we hope that you will respect this compromise and leave the accents off. Cheers, Resolute ↗ 23:08, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Adding minor league free agents

All of the info that I added came directly from an NHL source not a minor league so that is why I added it the way I did. I see you are referring to the Canadiens? Here is the reasoning why I put the info in as I did: Andrew Conboy ↗ never played a NHL game with the Canadiens but is listed here ↗ from the official list from NHL of free agents as a free agent of the Canadiens. He is sourced here ↗ that he was signed by the Canadiens in March 2009 to a three year contract and assigned to the AHL. Therefor he was signed by the Canadiens, not the AHL affiliate and would be listed as a free agent at the NHL level. An example player who would only be listed in the AHL roster as a free agent would be Kyle Hagel ↗ since he signed his contract directly with the Hamilton Bulldogs ↗. All of the players listed in the NHL team's roster as a free agent were signed directly by the NHL team not the affiliate team and are free agents on the NHL level. As for the comment of the list being incomplete because every player under contract of a team is not listed none of the sources listed have that information so they are complete per the sources which consists with WP:INTEGRITY ↗ policy. -<span style="background-color:gold;color:black;">'''♣ B2project ♣'''</span> 21:56, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

:Thank you. Another solution would be to add another source next to the main one for the time being and when the primary source has updated, you can remove the secondary source. <span style="font-family:Courier New; font-size:14px; color:#a6587b">Callmemirela</span> <span style="color:red">🍁</span> <span style="font-family:Georgia; font-size: 12px; color:#8B2252; font-weight:bold;">&#123;Talk&#125;</span> <span style="color:#582335">&#9809;</span> ↗ 21:27, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

I notice that you frequently handle updates to the Montreal Canadiens roster ↗; thanks for that!

If possible, could you kindly add an injury symbol next to Patrik Laine ↗? Due to sports hernia surgery, the foregoing will be out until atleast February 2026. 24.224.177.241 ↗ (talk) 19:45, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
