List of contemporary ethnic groups of Europe

After I corrected @Arctic Circle System, there were no further reverts except yours, in which you stated in your summary, "{{tq|cyprus and (vast majority of) azerbaijan aren't in europe, disagree on talk page please no edit warring}}". I then pinged you and Arctic Circle System on the talk page under Delimitation of Europe from North America, Asia, and Africa ↗. You did not engage in discussion there, instead making a minor edit to the {{emphasis|talk page}} with the summary, "{{tq|just fixing the formating. i have no opinions on this, i just wanted to avoid an edit war}}". I took that as an indication you yourself had no disagreement with my argument. But when I reverted your reversion, you proceeded to revert again, with the summary, "{{tq|Decisions are made on consensus, stop edit warring. the boundaries of europe for this page are already clearly outlined.}}" So clearly, you {{emphasis|do}} disagree with the inclusion of Azerbaijan ↗ in the list of primary homelands of the Mountain Jews ↗, who live north of the Caucasus, in the European part of Azerbaijan, and with the inclusion of Cyprus, which is generally considered part of Europe, sociopolitically.

Given the highly aberrant nature of your sequence of edits, I am finding it difficult to WP:AGF ↗. Starting an edit war, telling a user to use the talk page, then failing to engage there yourself is WP:DISRUPTIVE ↗. Ⰻ̆ⱁⰲⰰⱀⱏ (ⰳ҃ⰾ) 19:06, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

:There is a preexisting and agreed upon definition of Europe for this article. I was enforcing that definition for this article. You seem to dispute that definition. When you do that, you should go to the talk page and work toward a consensus, not unilaterally decide. I don't '''personally''' care but there may be '''others''' who do. No need to further @ me, I'm simply enforcing the expectations for the article until there's '''consensus''' on changing the '''already set''' definition of what counts as Europe for this article. ::To quote the page's own definition, "{{tq|the Greater Caucasus Mountains}}". The Mountain Jews of Azerbaijan lie {{emphasis|north}} of it. I only dispute the definition for Cyprus. Please be more careful. Ⰻ̆ⱁⰲⰰⱀⱏ (ⰳ҃ⰾ) 20:35, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
:::I have to concur with Иованъ here, this was partially my mistake as well as I hadn't looked very closely at maps of Azerbaijan. I will be sure to correct this. Arctic Circle System (talk) 20:44, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
:::Please stop pinging me. I've already requested once that you leave me alone. GastonN'estPasBon (talk) 20:55, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

Short descriptions of Native American languages

Hi Gaston, I see you've helped edit a bunch of pages on the Indigenous languages of North America. Thanks for your interest and your help in getting these pages into better shape! I'd just like to ask that you keep a couple things in mind as you continue. First, it is convention to describe the language family first for languages, in general, especially those which are little known, but English's short description is simply "West Germanic language"! This helps differentiate languages with similar or identical names especially. Second, short descriptions should be short ↗ and shouldn't reiterate what is probably self-evident to a reader looking to the page. For example, you changed Mandan language ↗'s SD from "Siouan language of North Dakota in the United States" to "Language of the Mandan people in North Dakota in the United States". The SD here should probably simply read "Siouan language" or "Siouan language of North Dakota" for clarity. Thanks again for your contributions to Wikipedia and especially on Native American topics! Best, ThaesOfereode (talk) 14:26, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

:Thank you i'll keep that convention in mind going forward. I appreciate the heads up. GastonN'estPasBon (talk) 14:28, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
