'''Welcome!'''

Hello '''{{BASEPAGENAME}}''', and welcome ↗ to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

At Wikipedia, new Users do not automatically receive a welcome; not even a machine-generated welcome. Welcome messages come from other Users. They are personal and genuine. They contain an offer of assistance if such assistance is ever desired.

I suggest to everyone I welcome that they may find some of the following helpful — there’s nothing personal in my suggestion and you may not need any of them:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian ↗! If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions ↗, ask me on my talk page, or place <code><nowiki>{{helpme}}</nowiki></code> on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!&nbsp;<i style="color: green;">''Dolphin''</i> ''(<span style="color: blue;">t</span>)'' 12:39, 19 June 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello! I'm Waxworker. I just wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to the page :Leith Stevens ↗ have been reverted because they appear to have added incorrect information. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite a reliable source ↗, discuss it on the article's talk page, or leave me a message on my talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''the Horn of Africa ↗ (defined as including Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti, and adjoining areas if involved in related disputes)''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and <em>does <strong>not</strong> imply that there are any issues with your editing</em>.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee ↗. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit <strong>carefully and constructively</strong>, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

<p>Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics ''procedures'', you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic here ↗. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template. </p>}}<!-- Derived from Template:Contentious topics/alert/first --> 45dogs <small> (they/them) (talk page)</small> 04:56, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions ↗, such as the edit(s) you made to :Salaad Gabeyre Kediye ↗, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted ↗. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines ↗. You can find information about these at our welcome page ↗ which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia ↗. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page ↗. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-disruptive1 --> Somepinkdude (talk) 00:48, 23 November 2025 (UTC)

:Hello. Thanks for the notice. The information I added about Salaad Gabeyre’s alleged KGB involvement is based on published sources. If there is a concern about the reliability or the way it was presented, could you clarify which specific Wikipedia policies (such as WP:RS or WP:NPOV) it conflicts with? I’m happy to provide higher-quality sources or adjust the wording to ensure it meets Wikipedia’s content guidelines. Please let me know how best to proceed. Thank you. 25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm LaffyTaffer. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person{{spaces|1}}on :Donald Attig ↗, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source ↗. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people ↗, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page ↗. Thank you! <!-- Template:uw-biog1 --> <span class="nowrap"><small>''ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸ''</small><span style="color:#a30d8f">Taffer</span>💬<small>(they/she ↗)</small></span> 01:45, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

Grammar edits

Hi, I'm CodeTalker. I noticed that more than 15 of the edits that you have made over the last couple of days have been reverted, by myself and other editors, because you changed text that was perfectly fine and introduced grammatical errors, without any obvious intent to change the meaning of the text. If your English fluency is not that of a native speaker, it would be best if you refrain from making grammatical edits, as this just causes unnecessary work for other editors who must review and correct your changes. Whatever your fluency, please take more care with your edits to ensure that you are improving the text that you change, rather than introducing errors. Thank you. CodeTalker (talk) 01:55, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
:Per User:CodeTalker's comments, I would also like to request you stop making unnecessary cosmetic edits. Adding completely unnecessary words does not improve Wikipedia. Thanks for your understanding. Please stop. Magnolia677 (talk) 12:13, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style ↗ that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in :Kenya–Switzerland relations ↗, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page ↗ to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. ''See MOS:OVERLINK ↗''<!-- Template:uw-mos1 --> CodeTalker (talk) 05:23, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Please do not add or change content, as you did at :Haplocochlias nunezi ↗, without citing a reliable source ↗. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources ↗ to see how to add references to an article. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-unsourced2 --> CodeTalker (talk) 05:26, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

Overlinking

You are continuing to overlink articles despite the warning I sent you ten days ago. I have just reverted 20 instances of overlinking that you created in the last two days. Please read WP:OVERLINK ↗, and stop creating links to names of well known countries, languages, religions and other commonly understood words. Thank you. CodeTalker (talk) 03:25, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
