Coming here to ask why I reverted your edit? Read this page first.

Please leave me new messages at the bottom of the page; click here to start a new section at the bottom ↗. I usually notice messages soon. I attempt to keep conversations in one location, as I find it easier to follow them that way when they are archived. If you open a new conversation here, I will respond to you here. Please watchlist this page or check back for my reply. If I have already left a message at your talk page, unless I've requested follow-up here or it is a standard template message, I am watching it. If you leave your reply here, I may respond at your talk page if it seems better for context. If you aren't sure if I'm watching your page, or I'm slow to reply, feel free to approach me here.

The immaturity of new users, and occasionally older ones frustrates me sometimes.

'''PLEASE sign your messages with 4 tildes (<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>)''' I will ignore anything that isn't signed. Also,

'''Did I delete your page, annoy you, or do something else that I shouldn't have?'''

'''Please, please, please, please, PLEASE realise that I am not attacking you.''' In the past, I have opened SPIs, AN/I reports etc, so there is a chance that I have annoyed you in such a way. Please realise that I do not have anything against you. I am a human, and hopefully you are too, so we can sort any issues as well as possible.

Debeb Araya ↗ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Debeb Araya ↗. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because '''it needs more sources to establish notability'''.
I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page ↗.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Mccapra (talk) 21:26, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

:There just isn't enough information about him to establish notability. I created his article because it was a red link in a different Wikipedia article and I wanted readers to know a little more about him when they redirect from the original wiki. Habeshakira (talk) 00:46, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

June 2026

Hey Habeshakira, I reverted your edit on Ethiopia ↗ for two main reasons; one is that the Egyptians were not apart of the Scramble of Afric ↗a nor were they a party to the Berlin Conference, infact they were one of the victims of it and was colonized by the British. Another reason is that Egypt did not really want to conquer Ethiopia, unlike the Italians, instead their territorial claims were limited to Tigray.

I just think that it is wrong to put the Ethiopian-Egyptian conflict on the same level as the Italo-Ethiopian one to the reader as the Battle of Adwa is one of the most significant events in Ethiopian history. Socialwave597 (talk) 19:20, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

:I disagree that Egypt didn't want to conquer Ethiopia.
: The EA itself, on Ismail's plan ("Ḥarär under Egyptian occupation 1875–85" entry):
:"a wide-scale joint military effort to invade the Ethiopian highlands, encircle Ethiopia, and create territorial continuity with Egyptian territories in the Sudan"
:And on his ultimate goal:
:"òidiw Ismaʿil's grand plan to establish his 'African empire' from the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean to the Nile"
:2. The French government's assessment (Yohannes IV: A Political Biography):
:"the Egyptian government was now engaged in a war whose aim was the conquest of Ethiopia"
:3. British public opinion on the Khedive's plan (same source):
:"British public opinion was also opposed to the Khedive's plan (as it was reported) of annexing Ethiopia"
:4. The Khedive's own words on his territorial claims (same source, to Stanton):
:"all the points on the African coast of the Red Sea from Suez to Berbera were under Egyptian administration and belonged to the Ottoman government"
:And I also disagree that Egypt wasn't apart of the Scramble of Africa. They were both a victim and a colonizer. You didn't have to be a party to the berlin conference to be apart of the scramble of Africa. And I believe they were deeply involved in the Scramble for Africa during the late 1800s. But we can give more weight to Battle of Adwa I don't really mind. Habeshakira (talk) 00:20, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
