List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes ↗ Improvement Time!

Hello there! I am sending this alert to all members of the WikiProject Weather ↗ and editors who have recently edited in the realm of tornadoes.

There is a ''large'' and '''important''' discussion ongoing, with the goal to completely overhaul and improve the List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes ↗. The previous improvement attempt back in 2022/2023 gained almost no participation. This alert is being sent out so these discussions hopefully gain a reasonably-sized participation, so the F5/EF5 tornado article, one of the most viewed weather-related articles on Wikipedia, can be improved for all readers!

If you wish to participate, please visit: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Weather/Possible F5/EF5/IF5 tornadoes ↗. '''The Weather Event Writer''' (Talk Page) 17:37, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

broken citation templates

You have caused several articles to be added to {{cl|CS1 errors: script parameters}} because you added a badly broken citation template to those articles. See for example, this citation at Eshan Yi Autonomous County ↗ (permalink). Please fix; and in future use the Preview button. Also, when citing twitter, use {{tlx|cite tweet}}.

Trappist the monk (talk) 17:39, 28 November 2025 (UTC)

:i see thanks. How to add {{tlx|cite tweet}} into the posts to avoid this problem?
:Thats because without this data, a update to meteorological records without citation is impossible Hanami-Sakura (talk) 10:19, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
::Same way you added the {{tlx|cite web}} template? Everything that you need to know about {{tld|cite tweet}} should be described in that template's documentation.
::
::Of course, in retrospect, I have to wonder if twitter is really a suitably reliable source ...
::—Trappist the monk (talk) 14:16, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
:::Thanks for helping out! That is very kind of you to help ensure quality! &#126;2025-37246-01 ↗ (talk) 14:17, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
:::I ran into issues using {{tlx|cite tweet}} in Kaijiang county, Sichuan due to need to update meteorological record high for December. Dec 1 2025 set a new record high there at 19.8C for the month of December. Cited tweet is : https://x.com/yangyubin1998/status/1995814950103908843
:::Thanks! Hanami-Sakura (talk) 17:25, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
::::You have to spell the template name correctly ↗. But, see the documentation at {{tlx|cite tweet}} for what is required to properly cite a tweet. {{tld|cite tweet}} does not use the same parameters as {{tlx|cite web}}. Mind the {{color|#bf3c2c|error messaging}}.
::::—Trappist the monk (talk) 17:37, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
:and you continue to create junk citations. Today you created a badly broken {{tlx|cite tweet}} template here ↗ and then apparently copied it here ↗ and here ↗. If it is broken, don't copy it to another article without you first fix the broken original. It is inconsiderate in you to create and spread junk that others have to fix. Please preview your edits before you click 'Publish changes' and mind the {{color|#bf3c2c|error messaging}}.
:—Trappist the monk (talk) 20:06, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
::I have an issue. I wonder how to prevent that error messaging if it happens. I have no idea how to resolve it on my own. {{cite web}} is way easier for me than {{cite tweet}} Hanami-Sakura (talk) 17:09, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
::https://x.com/yangyubin1998/status/2050197729897480596
::I need help to cite this source. For say a place like Guangde, Anhui which broke an all time May record low temperature this morning 1 May 2026
::Thanks. How do I get the citation system for tweets like this? Hanami-Sakura (talk) 15:20, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

Please sign your talk page comments and add them to the end of the page

Hello, thanks for your efforts, but I notice that some of your comments on talk pages are unsigned and are not in chronological order. It is important that messages be signed for attribution and to make sure that archiving works properly, and that talk page threads be in the right place to avoid confusion, so I've gone through your talk page edits and fixed them up where necessary. A guaranteed method for adding new sections to talk pages is the new topic tab; see {{section link|Help:Talk pages|Starting a new thread}} for information related to that. Graham87 (talk) 12:12, 22 February 2026 (UTC)

:I see thanks :)

Citation errors

Please take care when adding citations to a large number of articles. Many of your edits has malfromed citations (CS1 errors) ↗.

For example, Special:PermaLink/1363172132#cite_ref-11 ↗, which has CS1 errors: invisible characters ↗. This is because the <code>script-title</code> parameter you used to hold the long Chinese text doesn't accept newlines <small>(the character produced when you hit <code>Enter</code> on your keyboard)</small>. To fix this error on that page, open the weather infobox, find the <code>source 1</code> parameter, and remove newlines from the text after <code>|script-title=zh:</code>.

Also, the <code>script-title</code> parameter is for titles, not long quotes from sources. For that you can use the <code>quote</code> parameter. To do that, replace <code>|script-title=zh:</code> with <code>|quote=</code>.

What's more, it seems that you copied the whole Weibo post into the citaiton. this could create copyright issues ↗. <small>(unrelated to CS1 errors)</small> So the best option is to remove the text or only include small parts of it. Xzkdeng (talk) 08:47, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

:I see. Thank you very much. Will take extreme care. But I really also want to avoid non citation issues as well. Hanami-Sakura (talk) 00:19, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
