Question
Hello, you did removed anthem from infobox of Kurdistan. Article of Silesia ↗ is exactly same issue and it was added in there. Shouldn't it be restored on Kurdistan or should it be removed from both articles? Thank you. ThecentreCZ (talk) 23:07, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hi ThecentreCZ. I don't know anything about Silesia, so I don't think it's a good idea for me to comment about it. HistoryofIran (talk) 10:46, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
::Ok, I will add anthem back to Kurdistan article. ThecentreCZ (talk) 23:32, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
:::It's a geocultural region, and the Kurds are not a monolith - it would not make sense to add it. I assume you're referring to Ey Reqib? Which is the national anthem of the Iraqi Kurdistan government. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:41, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
::::Sources say Ey Reqib is anthem of Kurdistan. Needed for consistency. It is not monolith but unofficial ones are used in this way. Silesia is also divided between multiple countries like Kurdistan. ThecentreCZ (talk) 06:42, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::Yes, the Kurdistan Region ↗, i.e Iraqi Kurdistan. As for Silesia, please see WP:OTHER ↗. HistoryofIran (talk) 09:52, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
::::::I am now talking about article Kurdistan ↗. Yes, Ey Reqib is official anthem of the Kurdistan Region ↗. I am now talking about anthem of Kurdistan ↗ (unofficial anthem). Something to check in general is also MOS:CONSISTENT ↗. Open to suggestions in according with that. ThecentreCZ (talk) 11:00, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::::MOS:CONSISTENT ↗ is about variants of English, so it's irrelevant. HistoryofIran (talk) 11:33, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
If I may butt in here (sorry HistoryofIran for misusing your talkpage) – ThecentreCZ: I quite agree with HistoryofIran here. Exporting your content disagreement over Silesia to a different page outside your own area of interest, while pressuring an uninvolved editor with an argument of "I'll do X on ''your'' page if you don't support me in doing not-X on ''my'' page", is very much not a good idea, even if it's done ostensibly for the sake of "consistency". Please don't do that. At the same time, I happen to be a bit more familiar with Silesia than HistoryofIran probably is, and I happen to agree with you that that anthem shouldn't be there either. I've removed it from the box https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Silesia&diff=prev&oldid=1358260583 ↗. Please take any follow-up discussion to the talkpage of that page. Fut.Perf. ☼ 18:43, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hi, thanks for your message. I am very interested in Kurdistan and I already edited some articles of Kurdish parties. I wasn't aware of a guideline that doesn't recommend such a suggestion for a push to consistency among articles. Best regards ThecentreCZ (talk) 20:28, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
Possible sock account on Pari Khan Khanum's page
Hello, @HistoryofIran, how do you do? Take a look at this recent edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pari_Khan_Khanum&diff=prev&oldid=1358376792 ↗ compared to the one from this blocked account https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pari_Khan_Khanum&diff=prev&oldid=1357777951 ↗. Possibly the same person? Amir Ghandi (talk) 09:08, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hi Amir Ghandi, I'm glad to see that you're back. I'm doing fine, and hope you're doing as much as good as possible in these dire circumstances. And yup, that is indeed the same person, I'll keep an eye. HistoryofIran (talk) 15:37, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
Regarding ANI thread
Hi, I know it seems like I am being extremely light handed around this issue, but I believe it may have been possible to avoid the kind of escalation that's happening at the thread you opened regarding {{noping|HotChickenParmesan}} if you had directed them to dispute resolution ↗ rather than just engaging them via edit summaries and templates on their talk page. I did recognize your invoking WP:CONSENSUS ↗ but nothing happened on any of the article-space talk pages. I know this can be a difficult area to collaborate in but every effort to resolve issues before going to ANI counts that much more. -- <span style="color:#4E8321">Reconrabbit</span> (<span class="skin-invert" style="color:#073131">talk</span>) 14:26, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hello Reconrabbit, that's fair enough. Two things:
:1) Is it really a dispute resolution when a user is violating policies (altering/removing sourced info, adding their own commentary) while denying any responsibility of it and then making random unsubstantiated accusations?
:2) Yes, this is a difficult area to collaborate in - Western, Central and Southern Asian related articles are under constant disruption (including socking/meatpuppetry) by many new users and temporary accounts (especially in relation to the 2026 Iran War ↗), many of whom I try to give as much WP:ROPE ↗/have as much WP:GF ↗ as possible (and by all means, I'm not perfect, I still mess up, and I'm always open for criticism, probably thanks to the Law of Jante ↗), but based on their conduct I did not consider it to be the correct decision to give WP:ROPE ↗/WP:GF ↗, I expected that they would just have doubled down if I took it to the talk page. Though as I'm writing this, there's also a side of me that says I should still have at least tried to bring them to the talk page, erh..
:But regardless (and unfortunately) it seems that I was right in my judgement of their conduct, they have only made it worse in the ANI thread, with them currently being blocked for attacks and several users in favour of a topic ban. HistoryofIran (talk) 15:20, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
::1) With an editor as new as this (yes, they have stated they have "dabbled with Wikipedia more than a decade ago", but that just points to them being inexperienced with current editorial norms) engaging them on talk and pointing out why their editing is out of line with current policy can go a few ways. They can learn from the experience, or it can provide evidence for an admin who wants to take action.
::2) I appreciate hearing your rationale here. I think you might do well making more use of WP:RFPP ↗ than you do currently. That way, changes to contentious pages are more or less forced through discussion on talk pages. Maybe I'm less reluctant than other admins to protect pages, but they aren't contentious topics for no reason. -- <span style="color:#4E8321">Reconrabbit</span> (<span class="skin-invert" style="color:#073131">talk</span>) 15:39, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
:::Fair enough. From my personal experience, articles that get protected at WP:RFPP ↗ need to have a, well, more "messy" article history. So I didn't want to waste the time of the people patrolling that page, as I expected the request for protection would likely get rejected. HistoryofIran (talk) 13:20, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:Also, in my experience, if you can take someone to WP:AE ↗ instead of ANI, do so. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 16:48, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
:::I'm probably sticking my nose where it's not wanted, but what the hell. I haven't seen the AN/I discussion, but I have seen a lot of issues regarding the recent Iran protests and war. Maybe it's time to propose a 500 edits/30 day limitation on editing Iran related articles say 1979 - present? --Kansas Bear (talk) 16:50, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
::::It would need an Arbcom amendment. Currently WP:CT/IRP ↗ only has the standard set, which doesn't limit anything by default unless an admin wants to impose restructions. -- <span style="color:#4E8321">Reconrabbit</span> (<span class="skin-invert" style="color:#073131">talk</span>) 19:27, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
New sock?
Hello again after a long time. HistoryofIran, could you compare this account? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Amir-Iran993 ↗ with this one? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Amir-iran992 ↗ Specifically, they created new account after their old account were blocked for 36 hours. Kajmer05 (talk) 14:39, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hi Kajmer05. This is situation is a bit of an oddity, I'm a bit uncertain if they even know what they're doing. They created their account while the other was blocked, and started editing on their userpage and sandbox one hour before the block expired. I've written to them on their talk page. Thanks for telling me. HistoryofIran (talk) 18:53, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
Shajar al-Durr ↗
The TAs come from different IPs. Are there other arguments for the presence of persistent socking? -- Least Action (talk) 14:56, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hello. They all geolocate to the Emirates, and add unsourced info. All of them (except the recent one that arrived today) are blocked for block evasion. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:59, 26 June 2026 (UTC)

Karim Khan Zand
Hey, I'm aware that this was over 9 years ago but you forgot to add citiations to the "Military" section of "Karim Khan Zand ↗" Arielsigurmundur (talk) 20:28, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
:Hi Arielsigurmundur. Yup, I regret that, especially since I can't remember what source(s) it was based on. HistoryofIran (talk) 20:30, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
