:If you mean "can I completely rewrite an article" then technically I guess you could, but I would recommend making a lot more smaller edits before you attempt that.
:If you mean can you add information or update an article, then yes please do, just make sure you follow the guidelines and cite your sources. HundredVisionsAndRevisions (talk) 21:32, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
Question from F.Luce.Mantle (04:40, 28 April 2026)
Hi
I am wondering if I have to footnote a webpage link to an already existing wiki page, that I am editing.
If so, are there clear guidelines please?
Thank you --F.Luce.Mantle (talk) 04:40, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
:If you are linking from one article to another and it's a relevant link, you can just do it. Links between articles make wikipedia great. HundredVisionsAndRevisions (talk) 14:30, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

Potentially controversial moves in the name of fixing malplaced disambiguation pages
Hello HundredVisionsAndRevisions, when encountering a page where "(disambiguation)" appears to be unnecessary, please review the history before deciding to move it to the base name. For instance, in Raster ↗, an editor unilaterally changed the redirect target of Raster ↗ from Raster graphics ↗ to Raster (disambiguation) ↗ (Special:Diff/1360508160 ↗). You followed by swapping Raster (disambiguation) ↗ with Raster ↗. The result was contrary to the most recent consensus (Special:Permalink/1294029625#Requested_move_29_May_2025 ↗). The overall effect is that, with no ill intent on anyone's part, someone got you unwittingly to carry out on their behalf a move which they could not do without discussion (WP:RM#CM ↗). So, in particular, when reviewing the "malplaced" situation of Example page ↗ redirecting Example page (disambiguation) ↗, please check the history of Example page ↗ and whether it was recently changed; the problem is not necessarily that Example page (disambiguation) ↗ has the wrong name, but could be that Example page ↗ is not meant to be a redirect to Example page (disambiguation) ↗. (Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation/Malplaced disambiguation pages#Possible_primary_topic ↗.) Thanks for your consideration and I wish you the best – Adumbrativus (talk) 05:14, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
:I did check the history, and at first thought the RM was from this year, and was going to revert the move. However, since it was over a year old I didn't feel it was one I wanted to involve myself in. It's very easy to swap them back if someone wants to either discuss on the talk page or just decide to undo the primary topic change. That doesn't change the situation that the dab was malplaced. Thanks for your concern - and if you would like to revert the primary topic change and need me to swap the dab back in so you can, happy to do so. Question from Loseyi.mi3 (23:45, 24 June 2026)
How do you post about myself on Wikipedia --Loseyi.mi3 (talk) 23:45, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:You don't. Wikipedia isn't a place to make a website about yourself, and if you're notable enough to warrant a page about you, it's highly unlikely that you can be unbiased and neutral in writing it. It's highly discouraged and for a new user I would say it's not something to even consider. HundredVisionsAndRevisions (talk) 00:07, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Tanyoxarces (16:14, 26 June 2026)
Hello there!
You have been assigned as my mentor. Nice to meet you! --Tanyoxarces (talk) 16:14, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. Happy to help with anything, just ask. HundredVisionsAndRevisions (talk) 17:06, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
::Thank you!
::Today, I tried the task of adding sources to articles that miss them. I did so for founding father John Langdon ↗'s "ancestry and early life" section and removed the tag saying the section "did not cite any sources." I'd appreciate it, if an experienced editor reviewed ↗ the references I cited and gave some feedback, as I faced multiple dilemmas when I was editing. For example, a question I faced is what to do when a (seemingly reliable) source appears to slightly conflict with the article. For example, in the paragraph about the Langdons' heraldry, the Wikipedia article says that the blazon of the escutcheon is "Argent, a chevron between three '''escallops sable''';" whereas the only primary source I found (in the article, it's the one linked as "[5]") describes Langdons as either having had "lizard heads" or "bear heads," but nowhere could I find a blazon like that with "escallops sable." However, in the same book, there was one instance of someone with a name similar to "Langdon" having his escutcheon blazoned the same but with "escallops or." (Which is very curious, since metal-on-metal is illegal according to Gallo-British heraldic rules, which made me suspicious of the book, even though it appears otherwise reliable.)
::Anyway, what's the protocol here? Do we (or can we) need to find the original editor and ask him where he got that blazon? Or do I just change the article to match up with the source? I did not feel comfortable doing so, since the person who originally wrote the page may have gone based on more relevant information than what I found. You see, in spite of not having cited anything himself, the information appeared rather accurate to me, when I was researching. Nevertheless, I added the citation since other than the bear-lizard-head/black-gold-escallop stuff, it matched up pretty well. (Let me know if that's not acceptable.) Tanyoxarces (talk) 20:53, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
:::So you're only starting with easy edits I see...
:::Since the previous content is unsourced, it would be valid to remove it. Since you have new information from a reliable source, you could add it. Since it says "One example of a Langdon coat of arms" you could also leave it, and add your new information alongside. Any of those are OK I think. (I know nothing of heraldry). If you want to be extra thorough, start a conversation on the talk page and then notify Wikipedia:WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology ↗ on the project talk page.
:::Protocol never demands you ask a previous editor why they wrote something, especially if you don't know who it is. But you can search if you want and try. I used https://wikipedia.ramselehof.de/wikiblame.php?lang=en to find that bit added here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=John_Langdon_%28politician%29&diff=prev&oldid=1146445594 ↗
:::In short: I would either be bold and make the edit based on the source you have, or go ask the Heraldry project and make some new friends.
:::Good luck! HundredVisionsAndRevisions (talk) 21:37, 26 June 2026 (UTC)

How do I find pages that need improving? --CricketPlayer233 (talk) 19:38, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
:The smart-ass answer is, "click around, you'll find plenty" - there's always ways to improve any wikipedia page.
:I'd suggest finding something you care about, and digging into those pages. It's easier to contribute to things you're interested in.
:If you want pages with specific problems, Wikipedia:Backlog ↗ and Wikipedia:Maintenance ↗ are the standard directories.
:If you just need something to fix, Wikipedia:Task Center ↗ is probably the best general starting point.
