Engraved by Collette van den Keere

thumb|This type is described as "by Elizabeth Caslon", but what that really means is that she commissioned it to be made by John Isaac Drury. ↗
Hi, thanks for your edits to the Hendrik van den Keere ↗ article. I had a question, is there a specific specialist source that Colette actually engraved and drew things herself?

I'm not an expert on this, but my understanding is that it's a commonplace to see publishers briefly credited as "making" work they commissioned; for example in this image a type is credited as "by Mrs Caslon", but it's known from other sources ↗ that Elizabeth Caslon actually ''commissioned'' it (from engraver John Isaac Drury), she did not literally cut the metal herself. I'm a bit concerned by a biography where she owned a business until late in life then suddenly started creating her own engravings that it's based on sources that didn't understand that nuance. Blythwood (talk) 14:48, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

:Please see her biography: Colette van den Keere ↗. While I am not an expert in this subject matter either, it is supported as written by the sources. If you have other information, I encourage you to continue editing the page to a truer and more accurate version. IfShrimpHadABarbie (talk) 14:53, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
:And thank you. This is indeed an important nuance. IfShrimpHadABarbie (talk) 14:54, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

Question

Just curious. Do you use an LLM to help you expand articles? Thank you. <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 19:09, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

:I try to leave articles as complete as they were originally, but I have used an LLM to help me merge seamlessly sometimes. Or to check so I don't commit copyvio, lol. Then I go over it again in my own words. I think that is still in line with what is allowed, correct? IfShrimpHadABarbie (talk) 19:12, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
::Please see Wikipedia:Writing articles with large language models ↗ for more advice. Thank you, <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 19:21, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
:::Thank you - I will do that. I am enjoying editing Wikipedia and I don't want to do anything that undermines the project. I'll review and then tread very carefully! IfShrimpHadABarbie (talk) 19:23, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

Mirrors

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thanks for contributing to the article Willebrord Snellius ↗. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable ↗ and attributed to reliable sources ↗. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored ↗, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference ↗ and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia ↗ or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page ↗, or just ask me. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-refimprove --> ''Sam '''Kuru''' (talk) ↗'' 11:52, 2 May 2026 (UTC) <br clear="both">
:Again at Johannes Corputius ↗. Please carefully evaluate the sources you are adding. If they mention Wikipedia or credit us, then it's fairly obviously a mirror and cannot be used. ''Sam '''Kuru''' (talk) ↗'' 11:06, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
::I'm going to have to look very carefully at how this is happening... I've been googling web pages, reading them, then using the materials to edit pages. If I'm somehow introducing mirror content I need to revise my practises. Thank you for pointing this out to me :( IfShrimpHadABarbie (talk) 17:33, 6 May 2026 (UTC)

Llm editing

Hello
Curious if you used an llm to edit the Princess Wee Wee article? It was at a B grade so I'm not sure the intention to make such extensive architectural revisions of the article? Some of the quotes are lost and it is unclear the intention with the revisions? Normally if such extensive editing is going to take place the appropriate action is to initiate it on the article's talk page. Nayyn (talk) 15:49, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

:I have reviewed several versions of the Princess Wee Wee article and I do not see the removal of quotes or anecdotes that you reference. However, I did make some structural changes, as you mention.
:She had several relationships, two of which resulted in marriages. Previously, this was scattered through both the Circus performer and Whitman Sisters section. Giving this material its own section makes it easier to scan for and locate. Those preferring information be ordered only chronologically may wish it otherwise, but I find it helps readability.
:Similarly, I moved information on how she was presented to the world to its own section – Marketing and public image. The story of a career is one type of narrative and is often closest to a resume. However, when the person’s identity or appearance is core to the career, knowing how the employers “sell” that person’s identity almost always tells the story of exploitation, when it comes to sideshow performers. I prefer to give promotion its own section as it allows us to put the career in context.
:All that said, my editorial style is my own. If you wish to revert or to make further changes to the article, I will not engage in edit warring. I think we both have the best interests of readers in mind and I will respect your changes. IfShrimpHadABarbie (talk) 14:51, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
:Ah, I see now the quote you were concerned about. I think it was Arthur Brisbane's "a good-sized rat could carry her off." I omitted the Brisbane quotation because I didn't think it added meaningful encyclopedic value. I didn't think repeating a dehumanizing comparison contributed greater understanding of her life or career. It is still clear from the article the many ways in which they said she was very, very small.... IfShrimpHadABarbie (talk) 14:58, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
