Been watching this article because it's a bit of a cruft magnet, but so I understand the purpose of this (and maybe so that it gets in the article)... Is there a specific change in programming accompanying the move? If we're going to list 'the' official languages, it needs to be a complete list, not just a few examples chosen by a reporter. Do we have a RS for the languages made official by law in BF? — kwami (talk) 21:53, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

:BTW, French WP info box lists Mooré as 'official' and fulfuldé, dioula, bissa as 'national'. In the text it lists moré, dioula, fulfulde and '''gourmantché''' as 'official'. I don't see a reference for either, but we shouldn't have such discrepancies across wikis. Given that Gurmanche is the 3rd language of the country, I have to ask why it shouldn't be official when Bissa is. — kwami (talk) 22:04, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
::We do have a RS that in 1998 Mooré, Dyula, and Fula were official. I don't know the politics for adding additional languages. If we can find refs for Bissa or Gurmanche being made official, we could note those individually as historical events. That way we wouldn't imply that there are no other official languages, given that we don't have a RS for 2025. (BTW, the CIA World Factbook, which we used as a ref in the lead before I deleted it, lists only French as an official language.
