Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee ↗. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics ''procedures'', you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic here ↗. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template.
}} Doug Weller talk 11:37, 9 October 2025 (UTC)

Vital articles question

Hi Ipedecha. Out of curiosity is there any chance to you change your ''oppose'' !vote for Mary for something whatever other, at least purely to increase chance for longer discussion? I seen you listed Mary among 20 the most importnt peoople in your sandbox. Anyway what else you would eventually change in list before addition of Mary when we are three under quota and what would be your further concerns after addition of Mary? Cheers Dawid2009 (talk) 21:13, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

:If you change for a swap, yes. Mary is the only people i would swap. I think 103 is a abusurd amount of bios, so i wouldnt add even if Jesus was missing. Ipedecha (talk) 23:33, 14 February 2026 (UTC) Ipedecha (talk) 23:33, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

Minor edits

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi Ipedecha! I noticed that you recently made an edit and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit ↗" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typo ↗s or reverting obvious vandalism ↗. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Lophotrochozoa (talk) 19:02, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

:What edit was that? I do admit i use minor for any edit that is small, thats what i use minor was for, but what edit are you reffering to? Ipedecha (talk) 09:37, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
