List of breakout characters

{{{icon|25px| ↗}}} Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edits to List of breakout characters ↗, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edits had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material ↗. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable ↗, verifiable ↗ (usually secondary ↗) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation ↗, which you can learn to make here ↗. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Next Scottish Conservative Party leadership election

Hello, and thanks for creating the page ↗ for the leadership election. I just wanted to point out that when listing endorsements for a candidate, WP:ENDORSERFC ↗ states that:

{{tq|1. The endorser must have an article or be unquestionably entitled to one}}

{{tq|2. This endorsement must be covered by reliable and independent sources}}

{{tq|3. Coverage of the endorsement needs to use the word endorse, or other closely related synonym}}

The policy was introduced last year after an RfC, mainly to prevent non-notable endorsers clogging up lists, but also to ensure that endorsements are only listed if covered by sources that are reliable and independent of the candidate. Twitter and self-published campaign websites fail the former and latter categories respectively, so generally aren't used in these situations. This policy is also being used for the current Liberal Democrats leadership election ↗, and was used during this year's Labour Party leadership election ↗ as well.

Currently there are several endorsements in the article that are taken from Douglas Ross' campaign website. I am sure these endorsements have been published in newspapers/media outlets etc, so it would be great if such sources could be found to replace the current ones. Thanks, PinkPanda272 (talk/contribs ↗) 17:04, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Next Scottish election date

Please check this. I looked at the Elections Dates Act and it only referred to the 2020/21 cycle, i.e. to avoid the possible clash with a UK election in 2020. Act ↗ The act also says that (local) elections will happen "every fourth year" (not fifth!) after 2022. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 12:53, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

:The Scottish Election Dates Act 2015 moves the Scottish Parliament elections to every five years. I think you might be getting confused with the Scottish local elections we have. Those are separate from Scottish Parliament elections. The next Scottish local election is due next year and then it will move back to a four year cycle. --KeyKing666 (talk) 12:59, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

::But that would mean the local elections would then be on the same date as the Scottish Parliament election (7 May 2026). That can't be right. The text of the 2016 Election Dates act doesn't say anything about moving future Holyrood elections. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 13:04, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

Ah, I think I have found the answer. The Scottish Elections (Reform) Act 2020 (text ↗) changed elections to every fifth year. {{quote|in subsection (2), for the words from the beginning to “fourth” substitute “The day on which the poll at an ordinary general election for membership of the Parliament is to be held is the first Thursday in May in the fifth”,}}. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 13:09, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

:: It states on the Institute of Government too: "Legislation enabling the presiding officer to delay the Scottish parliamentary elections does not change the date of the subsequent election, which will take place in May 2026." Replaceable non-free use File:MarkFlynnCouncillor.jpg

32px|left ↗
Thanks for uploading ''':File:MarkFlynnCouncillor.jpg ↗'''. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use ↗. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion ↗. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have ''no free equivalent''; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

# Go to the file description page ↗ and add the text {{Tlx|Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} '''below''' the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing
<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
# On the file's talk page ↗, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license ↗, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on [{{fullurl:Special:Contributions|target=KeyKing666&namespace=6}} this link]. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy ↗. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page ↗. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:38, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

:Hi Marchjuly,
:Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I was bit unsure what category it could fall under, so if it needs to be deleted, that is alright. I understand the importance of adhering to Wikipedia's non-free content policy. I acknowledge that the image in question might not meet the necessary criteria for non-free use, and I am happy for it to be deleted if it does not fit the criteria. I will not be disputing the replaceable non-free use claim, so please proceed with the deletion if deemed appropriate
:Thanks again for your guidance. Much appreciated! KeyKing666 (talk) 12:56, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on :Beano Studios ↗, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. I saw your thanks for reverting the addition of the new Mickey Miller image. I apologise for using the phrase "give over" when removing your contribution to Mickey Miller because you were not to know. I only saw on the surface level that you added it back. User:FishLoveHam could have explained it when they reverted it. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:EastEnders40thAnniversaryPromo.png

64px|left|alt=|link= ↗
Thank you for uploading ''':File:EastEnders40thAnniversaryPromo.png ↗'''. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content ↗. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline ↗ is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag ↗; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page ↗. Thank you.

Replaceable non-free use File:LIVEHOUSEDundeeSignage.jpeg

32px|left ↗
Thanks for uploading ''':File:LIVEHOUSEDundeeSignage.jpeg ↗'''.

<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.

Thank you. --Min☠︎rax«¦'''talk'''¦» 02:46, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

The Late Show with Ewen Cameron

Hi there. Just wanted to reach out regarding the claim on your user page that you created the article ''The Late Show with Ewen Cameron ↗''. I just wanted to point out that this is not true, as you will see here (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Late_Show_with_Ewen_Cameron&oldid=791470500) that I created the article in July 2017. I do, however, thank you for your extensive edits to the article since then, but wished to highlight that it is not always appropriate to take credit for the work of other users. Thanks. Goodreg3 (talk) 18:45, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. I have noticed that you {{usertalk other|often ↗|often}} edit without using an edit summary ↗. Please do your best to '''always fill in the summary field'''. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits.
