Kirkuk Governorate ↗

Im writing this to you because you’ve recently edited the page and I dont have extended confirmed status. The current governor of Kirkuk is Mohammed Samaan Agha from the Iraqi Turkmen Front, as Rebwar has stepped down. Could you please update the page? https://thenewregion.com/posts/5124 ↗ Donkeykong71818 (talk) 04:03, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

:Sure! Thanks for reminding me of this. <span style="color:dark purple">'''Kir'''</span><span style="color:#00008B">'''kuk'''</span> ↗ 17:25, 18 April 2026 (UTC)

Kifri is Iraq not Kurdistan

On the page Kifri ↗, you have added it to Kurdistan region maps etc. I respectfully ask that you please revert this. It is officially a federal Iraqi town recognised in official law as part of Diyala Governorate, and trying to put it in Kurdistan further pushes the Kurdish chauvinist narrative of claiming disputed area - Kifri is a multi ethnic town like Kirkuk, not purely Kurdish.

Please revert it back to Iraq map and write Diyala. &#126;2026-29703-94 ↗ (talk) 01:20, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

:I appreciate your message but being a part of the Kurdistan Region doesn't mean that the town isn't multi-ethnic.
:Kifri is de facto under the administration of the Kurdistan Region as a part of Sulaymaniyah Governorate. Many sources back this.
:Official law is inconsistent as we saw in the recent 2024 census which recognized the existence of two Kifri Districts, the Kifri District in Sulaymaniyah where the town is located in, and the Kifri District of Diyala which was recently split by the Iraqi government into smaller districts.
:My recent edit doesn't imply that Kifri is Kurdish, and my edit was simply adding the Iraqi Kurdistan map and fixing a simple issue where the page stated that Kurdistan Region is a Governorate and Sulaymaniyah Governorate is a Region which isn't true. <span style="color:dark purple">'''Kir'''</span><span style="color:#00008B">'''kuk'''</span> ↗ 18:44, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
::@Kirkukturk3 Gentle reminder that you still have an active topic ban ↗ on "Kurds and Kurdistan, broadly construed." Even if it is non-disruptive, you are supposed to stay away from this topic. I just wanted to prevent you from getting blocked again. Best wishes, TheJoyfulTentmaker (talk) 23:22, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
:::Thank you for reminding me, and honestly I wish to get unbanned from that topic. I don't think there is any way I could even request that, though.
:::Those edits I've made are gonna be 2 years old soon, and for the entirety of the block duration I spent working on other wikis such as the Iraqi Arabic Wikipedia proposal. The conditional unblock simply doesn't make sense to me anymore.
:::The topic being broad is something that truly annoys me. <span style="color:dark purple">'''Kir'''</span><span style="color:#00008B">'''kuk'''</span> ↗ 08:19, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
::::My recent edits (population figures, maps, corrections etc) were simply in good faith. And forgetting about the ban was a simple but honest mistake I've made <span style="color:dark purple">'''Kir'''</span><span style="color:#00008B">'''kuk'''</span> ↗ 08:39, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
::::(To clarify, I fully accept that the topic ban is active and that I must follow it. My edits were a mistake, and I am stepping away from this topic entirely to focus on other areas. Thank you again for the reminder.) <span style="color:dark purple">'''Kir'''</span><span style="color:#00008B">'''kuk'''</span> ↗ 09:07, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
:::::Thanks! I am not an admin, just wanted to help as a peer. After you contribute sufficiently to other areas and build confidence, you may ask an on the Admin Noticeboard WP:AN ↗ to have the topic ban removed, I guess. TheJoyfulTentmaker (talk) 14:34, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
