Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of Canon PowerShot SX280 HS ↗

link=|alt=|left|48x48px ↗

A tag has been placed on Canon PowerShot SX280 HS ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

<blockquote>I want to rename this article Canon SX280 HS to Canon PowerShot SX280 HS. The move didn't work because of the redirect. --Skranon (talk) 20:36, 6 February 2026 (UTC)</blockquote>

Under the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Canon+PowerShot+SX280+HS|deleting administrator}}, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here ↗. <!-- Template:Db-reason-notice -->

Noting a vandalizing user

Thanks for straightening out so many of the vandal edits by ABDURAHIM OLLOXNING QULI ↗. I left what I thought was an alert for some bot or human with automation edit tools to clean up all his mess, but left it in plain view, as you observed. I didn't know what else to do. This is an uncharted sea for me, and I will appreciate any advice -- thanks! Larry Koenigsberg (talk) 05:30, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
:No worries! Thanks for trying to help. If you go to the little account dropdown menu at the top right corner of the screen, you can click on Preferences and then click on the Gadgets section. There are a ton of checkboxes to enable custom features (some you might want and some you might not). Under the Contents section of that page, you can check the box for Twinkle ↗, which makes warning and reporting vandals much easier. Once Twinkle is enabled, you'll see something that says "TW" near the top right, and if you're on a user's contributions page or user talk page, you can use that TW dropdown menu to warn or report them. You may want to review Wikipedia:Vandalism ↗ too, as it has great information related to identifying and responding to vandalism. Larry Hockett (Talk) 05:54, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

Canton Academy

Here is a discussion I have been having: I am not trying to get tagged as a vandal. I am trying to update the schools tag lines. After reviewing wikipedias policy, as long as I am trying to have a civil discussion with the sites editors I cannot be banned or tagged as vandalism. I am not altering the schools history. I feel it's disingenuous of you to continually revert to 50 year old tag line especially of a program you have no knowledge of. What is the problem with identifying the school as " A Christian based private school in central Mississippi serving 280 students"? Let's discuss this ~2026-22904-71 ↗ (talk) 19:16, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

: There's nothing wrong with it. The issue is that you're removing the part about it being founded as a segregated school. '''EvergreenFir''' (talk) 22:01, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
:: So If I use " '''A Christian based private school in Canton, Mississippi serving 280 students originally founded as a segregated school now fully integrated to match national demographics.'''" Is that acceptable? The '''"Type"''' continues to be reverted. It hasn't been a segregation academy in 30 years. Why can that not be changed to Private or Christian? Again, I understand the need to keep the History as is. That is history. It can not be changed but the school itself has changed and the negative visual is only keeping the divide not unifying. While I have you as well, How is it that so many different editors are reverting it. I could understand 1 or 2 having feelings one way or another but there have been 15 different editors reverting to the same "OLD" information? ~2026-21861-90 ↗ (talk) 16:41, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
::: That sentence would seem much more acceptable to me. Use the talk page to see what others think. '''EvergreenFir''' (talk)

Is this an acceptable tag line for the school? I would really like to stop with the editing battle. Thank you all for your input ~2026-21861-90 ↗ (talk) 17:12, 28 April 2026 (UTC) ↗

:Please help. I've tried to use the talk page but no one responds. My edits are just summarily reverted and I'm blocked for a period of time. How many admins must I appeal to? Is there a central figure or committee that to whom I can state my case? How do the edits attract attention from so many immediately? &#126;2026-21861-90 ↗ (talk) 15:16, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
::I don't really understand what is going on here, but a user talk page is not really the appropriate place for an article content dispute. As far as I can tell, I made one edit to the article in question, just to fix grammar and punctuation concerns. Content issues are best addressed on the article talk page, even if it feels like it is taking a long time. Larry Hockett (Talk) 16:15, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
