Articles I am Paid to Edit
Dictionary.com ↗ is paying me to improve its article. In order to be sure I am following all appropriate Wikipedia guidelines, I welcome any feedback on this page, or my talk page. LeepKendall (talk) 20:15, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
:Please note that you should disclose that you are a '''paid''' editor on Talk:Dictionary.com ↗, not just that that you have a conflict of interest and are requesting edits.. Meters (talk) 23:04, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

A belated welcome
Hi LeepKendall. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy ↗ requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy ↗, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose ↗ of Wikipedia and the neutrality ↗ required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions ↗ that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines ↗.
If you work from reliable ↗, independent ↗ sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP ↗ and WP:RSN ↗ are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 17:45, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
:Thank you very much for these insights User:Hipal. I will certainly check out your suggestions. I don't have a COI with Bonaduce. I was checking out his page and decided I'd like to help find some sources to help with banner. Clearly one was not reliable. I will do research before doing so again. Thanks again! Disambiguation link notification for February 10
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Larry Beckett ↗, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages John Henry ↗ and Route 66 ↗<!-- ([//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dablinks.py/Larry_Beckett check to confirm] | [//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dab_solver.py/Larry_Beckett?client=notify fix with Dab solver])-->. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. <small>(Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)</small>
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:14, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:Behavioral Scientist Jon Levy at TedTalk.jpg
32px|left ↗
Thanks for uploading ''':File:Behavioral Scientist Jon Levy at TedTalk.jpg ↗'''. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use ↗. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion ↗. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have ''no free equivalent''; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
# Go to the file description page ↗ and add the text {{Tlx|Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} '''below''' the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <code><your reason></code> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
# On the file's talk page ↗, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license ↗, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on <span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:Special:Contributions|target=LeepKendall&namespace=6}} this link]</span>. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy ↗. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:di-replaceable non-free use-notice --> Whpq (talk) 02:13, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
:Thank you for flagging this. I will look into what you have shared with me. I believe TED does provide some kind of permissions for participants to use the photos, I'm just not sure how to provide that information via Wikipedia. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it. Best, LeepKendall (talk) 18:47, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
