Request for Assistance in Preventing Article Deletion
Dear LupinOnTheFritz,
I hope this message finds you well. I am a new contributor to Wikipedia and have recently created an article about Mahdiyeh Afshar Bakeshloo ↗ and Flóra Borsi ↗. The article is currently under review for deletion, and I am seeking your expertise to help prevent its removal.
I have made efforts to include reliable sources to support the content.
Despite these efforts, the article is at risk of deletion. I would greatly appreciate it if you could review the article and consider leaving a message on the discussion page to support its retention. Your experienced input would be invaluable in ensuring the article meets Wikipedia's standards.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
Mahdiyeh Afshar Bakeshloo ↗ and Flóra Borsi ↗

30px|alt=Stop icon ↗ Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an '''edit war ↗'''; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the '''talk page ↗''' to work toward making a version that represents consensus ↗ among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done ↗. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard ↗ or seek dispute resolution ↗. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection ↗.
'''Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing ↗'''—especially if you violate the three-revert rule ↗, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts ↗ on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—'''even if you do not violate the three-revert rule'''—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. PARAKANYAA (talk) 21:11, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 26
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Joseph Minion ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page After Hours ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:55, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
Unconstructive editing vis-à-vis Gothic film genre
Mass-shepherding opening sections of film articles (or simply drive-by editing of lead sections en masse) is not conductive to constructive editing. In addition, it has come to my attention that somehow a large share of your edits in the scope of categorisation can be explained by removing horror film categories (because WP:CATVER ↗ or WP:VER ↗, I suppose) while adding Gothic films categories (in this case rather than enforcing WP:CATVER/WP:VER, you are violating it). Suffice to say, leaving aside sourcing (that applies to both genres, not only the one you like the least) "Gothic" and "horror" are not disjoint sets ↗, they are tightly intertwined.--Asqueladd (talk) 19:00, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
:No, I think it was only a couple of edits where I removed horror film categories where it wasn't sourced, not "a large share". One was a Munsters movie and the other was ''Captain Clegg'', which is generally described as an adventure film rather than a horror film. LupinOnTheFritz (talk) 19:24, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Before adding a category to an article, as you did to :The Addams Family (1991 film) ↗, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines ↗. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable ↗ content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 21:40, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

::That seems to be a student essay? Or did I misunderstand the header? DonIago (talk) 23:28, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
:::You're right. I had not seen that the essay was written by a student. This is a better source: https://www.vulture.com/article/the-25-best-goth-movies-from-the-crow-to-tim-burton.html LupinOnTheFritz (talk) 23:56, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
::::I don't think editors at WP:FILM ↗ generally favor using lists such as these as arbiters of genre classification, but you're welcome to ask over there. DonIago (talk) 21:05, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
:::::Okay. How are either of these for a source? https://www.cbr.com/retro-review-the-addams-family-1991/ https://www.cbr.com/addams-family-morticia-gomez-better-love-story-lily-herman-munster-netflix/ LupinOnTheFritz (talk) 00:26, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
::::::While I appreciate that both articles do include the term "Gothic", and I appreciate the effort you're putting into researching this, from what I saw, neither article unambiguously described the film itself as Gotchic, instead describing elements of the film as such. It's kind of the difference between talking about the comedic elements in a film and actually calling it a comedy film. I hope this helps! DonIago (talk) 02:50, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
:::::::How about these books for the Gothic categorization? https://books.google.com/books?id=OvrDDwAAQBAJ&pg=RA1-PT169&dq=addams+family+1991+%22gothic%22&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&source=gb_mobile_search&ovdme=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjbu6LV0KmQAxVHHzQIHcm1DKoQ6AF6BAgJEAM#v=onepage&q=addams%20family%201991%20%22gothic%22&f=false https://books.google.com/books?id=fwLugDGpzXkC&pg=PA21&dq=addams+family+1991+%22gothic%22&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&source=gb_mobile_search&ovdme=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjbu6LV0KmQAxVHHzQIHcm1DKoQ6AF6BAgHEAM#v=onepage&q=addams%20family%201991%20%22gothic%22&f=false https://books.google.com/books?id=2rS1CgAAQBAJ&pg=PA243&dq=addams+family+1991+%22gothic%22&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&source=gb_mobile_search&ovdme=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjbu6LV0KmQAxVHHzQIHcm1DKoQ6AF6BAgPEAM#v=onepage&q=addams%20family%201991%20%22gothic%22&f=false LupinOnTheFritz (talk) 21:17, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
::::::::Given that you're continuing to apply categories inappropriately, I'm reluctant to vouch for any sources you're providing. I'd encourage you to raise the question at the article's Talk page, where other editors can review. DonIago (talk) 20:52, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at :Queen of the Damned ↗. Your edits appear to be disruptive ↗ and have been or will be reverted ↗.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute ↗ with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page ↗, and seek consensus ↗ with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution ↗ page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards ↗.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents ↗.
:Isn't ''The Queen of the Damned ↗'' a well known Gothic novel? LupinOnTheFritz (talk) 22:19, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
::It's reasonable to assume that a film may be of the same genre(s) of the novel it's adopted from, but insufficient. ''Starship Troopers'' the film, certainly isn't of the same genre(s) as the novel upon which it's based. DonIago (talk) 03:40, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
