Improving sourcing
Hi @M Waleed! I ran across a few unreliable sources cited in some articles related to Ukraine and Russia, and I'm working on raising awareness about them to support improving verifiability - see MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist#Blackmail/manipulation_websites ↗. I wanted to reach out because it looks like you've cited the following sites a few times: antikor.com.ua (see spamcheck:antikor.com.ua ↗) and antikor.info (spamcheck:antikor.info ↗). These appear to be pay-to-play/blackmail websites, as documented by Intelligence Online ↗ - see Part 1 ↗, Part 2 ↗, Part 3 ↗ (Wikipedia Library links) - so I'd encourage not citing them going forward. I'm hoping other editors can help me with reviewing the existing citations to those sites and replacing them with more reliable alternatives. Dreamyshade (talk) 04:14, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
:Thanks for bringing my attention to this matter, I did not know anything about this matter beforehand and anything of that sorts on my part was purely accidental <span style="text-shadow:#000 0em 0em 1em"><span style="color:#000">𐤌𐤋𐤊</span> ↗ <span style="color:#1F51FF">Waleed</span> (<span style="color:#000">🗽</span>)</span> 05:01, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
::Oh yes, sorry, I'm definitely assuming good faith. These kinds of websites are very tricky, because they publish a confusing mix of true material and false material. Dreamyshade (talk) 05:09, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

al qaeda support for the afghan side during the pakistan-afghanistan war
hello! i do not know if you are one of the administrators or chief editors on the 2026 afghan pakistan war, but i was curious if the group al qaeda could be added on the list of belligrents on the afghan side, not as a direct combatant, but rather as a monetary/supply or simply just a support group, especially after their central command publicly called out the pakistani goverment and urged pakistani soldiers to defect, support for the taliban, among other things.
https://www.memri.org/jttm/al-qaeda-central-command-declares-pakistan-afghanistan-war-be-us-ordered-bid-topple-taliban
https://www.firstpost.com/world/al-qaeda-issues-strong-anti-pakistan-statement-pledges-support-to-afghan-taliban-14006034.html/amp
again, not that they are directly involved in the war, just them merely being a support group, like how china supports various EAO's in myanmar or some western countries support ukraine, or how mali is currently supported by the us and north korea etc etc Demeseriecroitor (talk) 18:41, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
:The "supported by" template is not encouraged according to popular consensus plus the sourcing is weak, in the articles for Ukraine war or Mali conflict, the supporting countries are not listed in the infobox if they're not actively involved, it could however be mentioned in the article body <span style="text-shadow:#000 0em 0em 1em"><span style="color:#000">ᚃᚔᚠᚓᚱᚅ</span> ↗ <span style="color:gold">Wyvern</span> (<span style="color:#000">♠️💛</span>)</span> 22:48, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
::fair enough then, i guess it would not be fair play to, for example, mention all the states on the belligerents war box for ukraine or russia, just because they gave minor support or voted for a UN resolution that favored them. In any case, if the conflict ever intensefies, and AQ becomes more vocal about it, it would still be worth to mention them atleast in the article or on the ''Reactions'' part of the war page. Also worth a look is the Hizb ur Tahrir party reaction to the war. Demeseriecroitor (talk) 23:26, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
