It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation ↗ and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners ↗. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Disambiguation link notification for February 20
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of film franchises with LGBT characters ↗, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages GCN ↗ and Vanity Fair ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:56, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
Additions to various lists
To prevent editors needing to clean-up after you, can you please look at the wiki text of the lists you edit to see how sources are cited. Please stop using ":0", ":3", ":02", etc., for refnames. Use semantic value names – read '''Template:Refname rules ↗'''. If you use Visual editor you need to go back to your edit using the Source screen and change numbers to semantic values. (It would be better if you stopped using Visual editor to edit tables. Read '''WP:VELIM ↗'''.) See '''WP:CITEVAR ↗''', too. Also, when you add a film or TV title, you do not double-repeat the name – example: <nowiki>''The Ignorant Angels'' ↗</nowiki> is wrong -- the correct way is <nowiki>The Ignorant Angels ↗</nowiki>. Thanks. '''Pyxis Solitary''' (yak). Ol' homo. ⚢ 15:54, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
List of feature films with lesbian characters
Re your edit ↗ of 10:53, 13 March 2025: the source you selected does not describe the character as '''lesbian''' (or gay or homosexual). The brief synopsis of the film describes a same-sex attraction, and that's it. She might be lesbian, or she might be bisexual. The source does not make it clear.
The "List of feature films with lesbian characters" talk page notice states: "{{green|''This list is only for characters specifically identified as lesbian....Characters must be supported with published reliable sources that explicitly confirm their lesbian identity.''}}" The notice that appears when you open the editing screen states: "{{green|''Provide reliable sources for characters. Source *must* identify characters as "lesbian" (or "gay", or "homosexual"). If sources do not confirm lesbian identity the film will be removed from list. WP:VERIFY''.}}"
So, please do not add films to the list if you cannot find a source that '''identifies''' a character as being '''lesbian''' — the words gay and homosexual are also apropos for the purpose of verification.
'''WP:V ↗''' is policy and states: "{{green|Even if you are sure something is true, it must have been previously published in a reliable source before you can add it....All material in Wikipedia mainspace, including everything in articles, lists, and captions, must be verifiable.}}" '''WP:BURDEN ↗''' states: "{{green|The cited source must clearly support the material as presented in the article.}}" The material that is presented in the "List of feature films with lesbian characters" is the inclusion of lesbian characters in feature films. This means that for this list cited sources must specifically identify characters as '''lesbian'''.
A source that does not describe a character as lesbian (or gay or homosexual) is a worthless source. It doesn't matter if ''you think'' there are lesbian characters in a film because of what you may know or believe about a film: if you cannot find a single reliable source that specifically describes a character as '''''lesbian''''', you cannot add the film to the list. It's as simple as that. '''Pyxis Solitary''' (yak). ⚢ 01:43, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
