Disambiguation link notification for December 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Begonia lichenora ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indonesian ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:55, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

Short Descriptions

I noticed that you have added a "short description" to the "1880 in Australian literature page". Thank you for that but I don't think it is really necessary. I originally had a short description for each page in that set but these were removed a few months back with the following comment added to each page: <-- "none" is preferred when the title is sufficiently descriptive; see WP:SDNONE ↗ -->

I'm okay with the short description being there but just wanted you to know the history to save you doing a lot of work that might be deleted later by some other editor or bot. Cheers. Perry Middlemiss (talk) 21:20, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

:@Perry Middlemiss hi there, thanks for letting me know. I was in the "contribute" section of the mobile Wikipedia app, and this is one of the pages it fed me. i think it just randomly grabs pages that don't have descriptions Maberjay (talk) 21:41, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Sandbox

Just a reminder that sandbox pages are ''not'' allowed to be filed in categories alongside finished articles in mainspace, per WP:USERNOCAT ↗. I've had to pull ''several'' of your sandbox pages, such as User:Maberjay/Rhizome and User:Maberjay/Sandbox, ''more'' than once each in the past month — sandbox pages are simply not allowed to be in categories under any circumstances, so please don't readd them to categories again. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 14:43, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

:@Bearcat oh! I apologize. I didn't realize the sandbox pages were being added to those categories. I was copy&pasting full articles to tweak including the categories for those pages, I'll be sure not to do that from now on. thank you for letting me know, sorry for the trouble Maberjay (talk) 14:46, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello Maberjay, Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I refer to the article ''Begonia verticillata ↗'', created by you. Concerning the 3rd citation on article Begonia serotina ↗

Hello,

The source given for this is inaccessible, and I have doubts about it, so if it isn’t a bother than I’d like to take a look to what it said also. About my doubts, I feel like “possibly extinct” might be too farfetched. Its most recent evaluation was in a 2015 paper, where it was considered VU (previously EN) as its range had been increased and found to include protected areas. Its most recent collection date was also 2017, and although less reliable, this species has also been observed in situ as recently as Nov 2025, seconded by P. W. Moonlight. So, I want to see what it means by “possibly extinct” in more depth if possible.

I’d also like to thank you for updating the list of Begonia species ↗! :) Mcatto (talk) 18:30, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
