English version
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English ↗ in Wikipedia articles.
For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English ↗. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English ↗. For something related to another English-speaking country ↗, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the ''first'' author of the article used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style ↗. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk ↗. Thank you. Canterbury Tail talk 15:30, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
:Thank you for the lesson! i am newer to editing so I appreciate the advice and politeness. I will learn from this and avoid similar mistakes going forward. McCIrishman (talk) 15:33, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
WP:VER ↗
Hi. I can't find mention of a fan forum (or the attributed statement from Usher about a ticket price reduction being "[un]sustainable for the club[']s finances") in the sources which accompanied this change ↗. The ''Irish Examiner'' source ↗ dates from Feb 2025 (8 months before the TP protest at the St Pats game) and doesn't appear to contain a statement from Usher or mention a fan forum. The ''Irish Independent'' source ↗ also pre-dates the 3 Oct protest (by a few days). And, while it appears to contain an attributed quote ("{{tq|Usher told fans in June [2025] that he will have invested more than €2m of his own money into Cork City by year's end}}") it doesn't seem to support the proposed text fully. When was the "fan forum" held? And which reference (whether the two added or others elsewhere) refers to a fan forum? Or club finances? Thanks... Guliolopez (talk) 21:56, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
:@Guliolopez My sincere apologies, within the independent article there was a link to a second article that discussed the forum here: https://m.independent.ie/sport/soccer/league-of-ireland/daniel-mcdonnell-dermot-usher-has-an-ambitious-vision-for-cork-city-falling-crowds-and-poor-form-are-not-part-of-it/a1477665914.html
:a second source is this: https://leagueofirelandtalk.wordpress.com/2025/06/30/money-is-not-an-issue-cork-city-owner-dermot-usher-pledges-backing-amid-fan-backlash/
:I probably should have properly sourced both independent articles. I will work to ensure I do not make a similar mistake in the future. McCIrishman (talk) 22:05, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
::OK. Thanks. I'll review those sources and see whether/how best to reflect in the article. Guliolopez (talk) 11:41, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
Travel pics
Please be selective in photos you add to Wikipedia. Please see MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE ↗ for more detail. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:15, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
:@Magnolia677 Thank you for sharing this information with me. I will read up, and I appreciate the advice. McCIrishman (talk) 17:48, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
::Friend, a picture of a sign at the entrance of a golf course is not relevant to a city article. Wikipedia is not a host for your travel photos. Thank you for your understanding. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:32, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
:::@Magnolia677 My apologies, I am from the area, these are not travel photos, please do not make assumptions. The Detroit Lakes country club and its iconic sign are historical. the winner of the Pine to Palm takes their picture there, and multiple pine to palm competitors have gone on to win professional events including former world number 1 ranked golfer Tom Lehman ↗. I would kindly encourage you to read the history and understand its importance before you make major revisions and determine a photo of a historical site is a "travel photo" - https://pine2palmgolf.com/history . I will say the photo is low quality and next summer I will ensure I take a better picture to meet Wikipedia standards. I do want to also thank you for your work editing Wikipedia. McCIrishman (talk) 23:04, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
::::The Detroit Lakes Country Club is located two miles ''outside the city'', and it isn't even mentioned in the article. And the website you sent me for the country club doesn't even have a picture of their "iconic sign". Magnolia677 (talk) 23:10, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
:::::@Magnolia677 I appreciate you educating me that the golf course is technically outside the city. that is new information to me and I apologize for being wrong, I acknowledge that I should have done more proper research about the official location. However, the website very clearly does have the picture of the sign several times including every picture on its list of champions, please stick to the facts in our talk conversation. The fact that there are several golf courses in and around the town is definitely mentioned in the article, which is why I was trying to improve that section. Since you have identified that these courses are not in Detroit Lakes proper, you should go to work on editing and improving that since you are clearly more informed than I am on the city and its golf history. Thank you again for taking the time to educate me, I will use your lessons going forward my friend. McCIrishman (talk) 23:28, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi! I reverted your edit on June 18 ↗ as any changes or additions to days of the year pages now require citations and any that aren't are being reverted, please see WP:DOYCITE ↗. The guidelines were changed due to the high number of errors and the number of links to articles with no or little reliable sources. Any names or events added before these guidelines were implemented are currently in the process of being referenced or removed. If you'd like to find out more, please see WP:DAYS ↗, if you need any help with referencing see WP:REFB ↗. Suonii180 (talk) 00:07, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
:Thank you for taking the time to educate me on this! I apologize for not being aware of that rule change and I appreciate the lesson. I will have citations going forward. McCIrishman (talk) 14:24, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Magnolia677. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, :St. Boniface Golf Club ↗, but you didn't provide a reliable source ↗. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable ↗. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation ↗, your edit is archived in the page history ↗. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:14, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
:Please stop doing mass reverts. I want to work with people to make the article better but removing accurate sourced work because the citation is not in the right spot is counter productive. I have had negative interactions with you in the past and while i respect your work and thank you for your time, I really would rather work with people who want to collaborate and help one another to build the article out. Re-doing good work that is caught up in your mass reverts that you do without talking to anyone makes making Wikipedia a better resource hard to do. I would kindly ask you have other admins who actually want to collaborate and work together come address issues with the article. please see Wikipedia:Collaboration first ↗ and Wikipedia:Revert only when necessary ↗. Thank you and have a wonderful day. McCIrishman (talk) 20:44, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
