25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Tgeorgescu. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view ↗. Your recent edit to :First Epistle of Peter ↗ seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-npov1 --> tgeorgescu (talk) 12:59, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

:Hi, Thank you for the very courteous comment on my edit to First Epistle of Peter ↗. I am content with that change.
:On the topic of that page, given that there is a 'Main' page on Authorship of the Petrine epistles ↗ already, I propose removing the paragraphs "New Testament scholar Graham Stanton ↗ ..."; "Another dating issue is ..."; "Others argue that it makes..." and "On the one hand, some ...". Leaving "On the other hand, some scholars argue..." just deleting "On the other hand,".
:In '''general''' the duplication, and often contradictory statements, on the two different pages ('''not''' necessarily in this case) is a pet bugbear of mine. The main page should be a short, simple summary and direct readers to the main article.
:What are your thoughts on this? If you're content with that I could then propose it on the page?

::Our allegiance, as Wikipedians, is to the mainstream academic view, see WP:CHOPSY ↗. tgeorgescu (talk) 01:04, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
:::Hi, that doesn't really answer my question. Should we shorten, as proposed, the article and focus on authorship issues in the 'Main' page Authorship of the Petrine epistles ↗?
:::BTW I too adhere to CHOPSY though I feel it too restrictive if taken literally. iIt needs to be recognised solely as a shorthand and not ignore other universities, not least in the Netherlands which has some outstanding universities, as I'm sure I don't need to tell you!
:::Thanks Mercury543210 (talk) 11:04, 20 January 2025 (UTC)

Article moved

Just wanted to note that I moved your article of John Riley to: John Riley (painter, born 1928) ↗, since the previous title was malformed due to the lack of spacing between parentheses. <small><b style="color:blue; text-shadow:cyan 0.0em 0.0em 0.1em;">CycloneYoris</b></small> <b style="color:purple">''talk!''</b> 05:10, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

:Thank you. Mercury543210 (talk) 07:48, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
::I've just noticed that the article on the 17th century painter "John Reilly (painter)" seems to have the same name https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Riley_(painter) ↗
::As the link you created
::https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Reilly_(painter) ↗
::That's why I added the birth date, albeit incorrectly.
::Is there any way of disambiguating the two pages? Thanks for your help. Mercury543210 (talk) 08:00, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
