Invitation to participate in user research with Wikimedia Foundation

Hello,

My name is Jahnavi ↗[1] and I am a design researcher at the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF). The Language and Product Localization Team is conducting a study ↗[2] on how editors create new articles or add new sections to existing articles on Wikipedia. We’d also like you to explore some design concepts and provide feedback. Based on your experience, we believe you would be a valuable participant in this study and would like to invite you to take part in an interview to share your insights on creating new sections or articles on Wikipedia.

This study is taking place between 23rd Sept - 10th Oct. The interview lasts about 75 minutes and is conducted remotely over Google Meet in English. Please note that you would be required to share your screen to demonstrate your process and explore the design concepts. We can provide live interpretation into your preferred language upon request. We are pleased to offer a digital thank you gift through our partner service, Tremendous ↗ [3], for completing the interview.

If you would like to participate in an interview, please complete this short form ↗ [4]. I will contact you using the email you provide in the form with instructions on how to participate.

If you have any questions or concerns about this research, please feel free to ask me. I look forward to hearing from you,

Jahnavi

Thai name

Hi Messhyu, may i know where in the Wikipedia rules that said Thai person should be referred to by his given name? Stvbastian (talk) 14:27, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

:No have any rules in Wikipedia to suggest Thai person must be reffered by family name or given name. However, in Thai custom, a person is always reffered by given name solely, not family name solely. Thai family name, if be used, always using with given name at before, to reffer the person by full name. E.g. Teerasil Dangda ↗ is always reffered by his full name "Teerasil Dangda" or given name only as "Teerasil", never by family name only as "Dangda". His name on jersey of Thailand football team is also "Teerasil" by Latin script too. So we should respect their custom. You also can read here ↗. Messhyu (talk) 15:51, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
