Citing organization material

Would it be considered gauche to cite the organization's website (https://empirewashitaw.org/) when discussing the Washitaw Nation's beliefs? MrSwedishMeatballs (talk) 23:55, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 21

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Aspect ratio (image) ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Super 16 ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. <small>(Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)</small>

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 18:05, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

Hello @MrSwedishMeatballs, I am not sure why you removed some content from Apple silicon ↗ because you did not provide an edit summary. Please explain your changes. <span style="color: orange">ItsCheck</span> (talk) 23:30, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

:That needs to be explained with every edit in the edit summary. One can't assume it is clear to other editors why a change is made. —DIYeditor (talk) 17:08, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon|link= ↗ Hello. Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia ↗. I noticed that your recent edit to :Ampere (microarchitecture) ↗ did not have an edit summary ↗. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief ↗.

The edit summary field looks like this:
{{The edit-summary field/OOUI}}

'''Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make.''' With a Wikipedia account ↗ you can give yourself a reminder by setting {{myprefs|3|check=Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary}}, and then click the "Save" button.

Numbers with units

Thanks for working on fixing the formatting of things! However, the Manual of Style (MOS:NBSP ↗) says that we should use the &amp;nbsp; entity rather than a plain space between a value and its units. That will keep browsers from ever making a line-break at that location. DMacks (talk) 08:44, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

Minus signs

If you're changing the text of every article that misuses a dash (-) as a minus sign (−) you could file a request for someone to do this work in a much more expedient manner through Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Tasks ↗. <span style="color:#6BAD2D">Recon</span><span class="skin-invert" style="color:#2F3833">rabbit</span> 16:22, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

:Hi @MrSwedishMeatballs,
:Instead of simply changing the dash to a minus signe, it would be even better to format mathematical expressions using the <code><nowiki>{{math| ... }}</nowiki></code> template. For instance, <code><nowiki>{{math|-''x''}}</nowiki></code> yields {{math|-''x''}} whereas <code><nowiki>-''x''</nowiki></code> is rendered as -''x''. From a semantic point of view, <code><nowiki>{{math|-''x''}}</nowiki></code> is better than both <code><nowiki>-''x''</nowiki></code> and<code><nowiki>−''x''</nowiki></code>.
