Wikipedia:Destubathon of the Americas ↗
You are invited to participate in the '''Destubathon of the Americas ↗''', a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ <span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#aba67e">''Dr. Blofeld''</span> 17:21, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
Anno Mundi
I'm afraid your edits got caught when I reverted to the last stable version. I assume you can easily recover it from the history and reapply?
Was the great big red "error in Lua module" not staring you in the face too? Or is it unique to mobile web access? 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 16:23, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
:@JMF Hey, no worries. Yes it was staring in my face as well, but I didn't know how to fix it. I was just there to add a visual example under Byzantine era, which I have now readded. Thanks! NLeeuw (talk) 16:30, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of :Michael Marshall (skeptic) ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article :Michael Marshall (skeptic) ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Doesn't pass WP:GNG ↗ IMO, many sources fail WP:RS ↗, seems a low-level part time journo with a fanbase'''</blockquote>
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion based on established criteria ↗.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion ↗ of the article at any time.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify -->

expansion of Russia
The article was a summary of Davies (2007), which I guess you have not read. Its subject was the southward expansion of the mostly Russian population from the Oka River south to the Black Sea, resisted by Crimean-Nogai slave raids. This process lasted about 300 years and enormously increased the population of the Russian state and made Russia what it is today. Erasing the main part of the article and moving some parts to an account of the edges of the Russian state deletes an important subject and has no benefit that I can see.Benjamin Trovato (talk) 09:35, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:Hello @Benjamin Trovato, thank you for your message. I see that you and I have both begun on Wikipedia around the same time in 2008. So we have both built up a lot of experience and helped Wikipedia develop and grow over the years, including improving its quality standards. The fact of the matter is that the text of the article Expansion of Russia (1500–1800) ↗ had not grown along with it, but had remained at about the same quality standard when you first published it in 2009. Over the years, many people had noted issues with it, but neither you not anyone else took the time or effort to address those issues. For example, you say that the article was essentially a summary of Davies, Brian (2007).''Warfare, State and Society on the Black Sea Steppe, 1500–1700'', but you should know that WP:ONESOURCE ↗ is not enough.
:I've explained at Talk:Expansion of Russia (1500–1800)#Merging with Territorial evolution of Russia ↗ why maintaining the current situation was untenable, and a merger to Territorial evolution of Russia ↗ was the best option in the circumstances. I have provided edit summaries for every step of the way. You are still free to edit the recycled content at Territorial evolution of Russia ↗, provided that it complies with our current quality standards. Saying that my editing "deletes an important subject" comes down to WP:LOSE ↗. The edit history still has all the text that you could reuse, provided that you cite WP:RS ↗ in inline citations. It is not my job to read Davies (2007) cover to cover, it is your WP:BURDEN ↗ to refer to a specific page of that book for any claim.
:As you can see, I have kept all your text that I found to still be of value in Territorial evolution of Russia ↗, even if it still has no specific inline citations. I would encourage you to provide those, especially if you still have access to Davies (2007) to provide page numbers as references to support the claims. I hope that clarifies the situation. Good day, {{smiley}} NLeeuw (talk) 10:52, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
