- Changes to user permissions made from Meta are now included in the local user permissions log (T6055 ↗).
- The autoconfirmed ↗ user group will soon be modified such that the four-day account age requirement begins when an account makes its first edit (T418484 ↗).
20px|alt= ↗ '''Arbitration'''
- The arbitration case ''SchroCat ↗'' has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 15 April.
- Per a recent motion ↗, appeals of blocks from the conflict-of-interest VRT queue ↗ are, by default, appealed on-wiki through the normal unblock process. However, they may be heard by the Committee if COIVRTers disagree on the interpretation of the evidence or believe ArbCom would be better suited to hear the appeal. Administrators are also advised that loosening or lifting such blocks without the consent of someone with access to the queue or ArbCom can be grounds for desysopping.
- Per a recent motion ↗, restrictions issued directly by the Committee may now be enforced with blocks which work exactly like contentious topic blocks.
- The arbitration case ''Maghreb ↗'' has been closed.
class=skin-invert|20px|alt= ↗ '''Miscellaneous'''
- The May 2026 administrator elections ↗ are scheduled to run from April 29 to May 19. The call for candidates ↗ ends May 5.
- The 2026 Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election ↗ is scheduled to run from April 25 to June 1. Candidacy submissions ↗ close on May 10.
- A '''new noticeboard ↗''' for non-urgent, batch page protection requests has been created, primarily for the enforcement of contentious topic restrictions ↗.

DUE
Hi, first and foremost, cool nickname man! Anyways, I saw you telling me that my edit was non-neutral, but the review was pretty splattered and extreme and has garnered huge attention and widespread criticism online (from celebrities too). Several articles have written about the criticism it has received, so I thought it was appropriate. When it comes to your description of me as an "editor who has only contributed to this article," that is incorrect and a mischaracterization. I have edited mostly that article, true, but saying ''only'' goes too far dude. Honeypack (talk) 12:06, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
:Hi: you have made 72 edits to Wikipedia. Out of those edits, 42 have been to ''Brown'' (Chris Brown album) ↗, 25 have been to project-related areas (edits made to the Wikipedia and User talk namespaces), all of which seem to be in relation to the article in question, 2 have been to the talk pages of ''For All the Dogs ↗'' and "Cyber Sex ↗", and three have been to three other articles ("Make Her Feel Good ↗", ''Fantasy Ride ↗'', ''Goodies'' (Ciara album) ↗). I don't personally see where I was wrong in that assessment; your edits to that article far outweigh all other contributions you've made.
:Anyway, as per WP:DUE ↗, we have no reason to mention people's reviews of a review; even then, I personally don't see what it adds to the article. Twitter is not a reliable source of "huge attention and widespread criticism online", and there's not much substance in the sources provided; source 1 from WQHT ↗ notes that the piece's detractors are fans of Brown ("{{green|At the same time, Brown’s fans pushed back, with one user accusing Pierre of bias and defending the album’s quality.}}"), source 2 is ... a tweet from "American comedian, television host, actress, author, and former electrical engineer" Loni Love ↗, and source 3 from HotNewHipHop ↗ once again notes "{{green|his supporters have defended him at all costs}}" and is about the reaction of somebody who is credited on the album twice along with the reactions of a few random Twitter accounts.
:So, the "backlash from readers online" seems to be from Brown's fans (and, whoever Loni Love is, and I don't think she holds much weight in relation to music opinions). We don't need to mention that in the article. It doesn't matter if "the review was pretty splattered and extreme", because it's not our job to criticise a review. We are an encyclopedia. We don't need to mention backlash from Brown's fans about a review, the same way that we don't talk about the reactions to Pierre's reviews of ''Donda 2 ↗'' and ''Monica ↗'', or the reactions to Anthony Fantano ↗'s reviews on literally anything, or the reactions to reviews by other writers about things like ''The Life of a Showgirl ↗'', which I'm sure the fans of those artists also probably didn't like! It's not something that needs to be mentioned. Neo Purgatorio (pester!) 13:54, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
::I'll respond in order because I like to keep things clean:
::'''I don't personally see where I was wrong in that assessment; your edits to that article far outweigh all other contributions you've made.''' — but that is not what you originally said. You said I was an "editor who has only contributed to this article", which is simply false. I don't think I need to explain the meaning of the word "only".
::'''We don't need to mention that in the article. It doesn't matter if "the review was pretty splattered and extreme", because it's not our job to criticise a review. We are an encyclopedia."''' — I wasn't trying to criticise the review in the article itself. The review received widespread backlash across social media, which is fairly unusual for a music review and became part of the surrounding discussion. That said, you are right that the sourcing could have been better, and I appreciate you explaining that. If stronger sources ever come up (though I doubt they will), I may consider adding it back.
::Lastly, I'm not sure how familiar you are with Wikipedia's standards regarding music reviews, because otherwise you would probably know that Anthony Fantano ↗ reviews cannot be used on Wikipedia (here's the video where he whines about it ↗). Honeypack (talk) 15:18, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
:::I'm not sure where you got the idea that Fantano's reviews can't be used at all, because they can ↗; they just require additional consideration before being used in other articles (his input isn't usually required when it comes to big albums, except for when they show up in top lists or if he gives them a 10), because he's not writing for a publication and instead is writing for himself. (A good example to look at would be anything I've written, as I mostly write about indie/underground articles that he happens to also have reviews on.) I'd very much recommend that you read up on music-specific guidelines (Wikipedia:WikiProject Music#Guidelines ↗ is a good start).
:::As for everything else noted, I suppose I could've changed my wording, however that doesn't change anything about the revert; it still falls under WP:DUE ↗, and your main contributions have been to the one article. I don't think that it should be in the article regardless, again because of DUE, unless it's something actually substantial, which "people on Twitter and a guy who was involved with the album don't like it" really isn't, and again, it's not our job to criticise a review; the article is about the album. Neo Purgatorio (pester!) 18:55, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
::::{{ping|Honeypack}} Please stop restoring {{diff|Brown (Chris Brown album)|prev|1356032155|this edit}}. Neo Purgatorio (pester!) 22:49, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
