Transhimalayas
Hi NoGhost, I've been grouping high mountains by their major mountain range e.g. Alps, Andes, etc. I sense that there is no universally agreed definition of Transhimalayas but have taken the description of the Transhimalayas from the one given in the "Greater Ranges ↗" which says it is the "the Nyanchen Tangla (or Transhimalaya) and various smaller mountain ranges inside Tibet and in western China (in the Tibet-Sichuan-Yunnan region, including Hengduan Mountains and Qionglai Shan)." However, if the sources commonly use another name for this group, we could use that instead. Bermicourt (talk) 07:58, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
: {{ping|Bermicourt}} Thanks for the response. Interesting, I hadn't seen that description and I've never heard of anything east of the Nyenchen Tanglha being included with the Transhimalaya before. For categorical purposes I think it's fine, recognizing that it's hard to classify mountains in this part of China into higher level groupings. I'll just caution that in China these higher-level categories don't exist and to be mindful of a potential Western-style designation of East Asian geography. Thanks. --NoGhost (talk) 20:24, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
::Thanks. I was just going by the Wiki definition which, to be fair, that the grouping is the Transhimalayas plus other ranges, but doesn't give an overarching name. I guess there will be other mountains or ranges around the world that don't fit into the high level categories of the so-called Greater Ranges. Maybe we should add some words to the category to clarify that it includes ranges not generally considered part of the Transhimalayas? --Bermicourt (talk) 07:54, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

James Matisoff's reconstruction of Proto-Tibeto-Burman ↗
Comment to User:JohnBlackburne about title of article.
: The talk page of this article describes the reason why it was long ago moved to this title. The change reflected a consensus of the editors who had been involved in writing it. Recently User:NoGhost moved the article without changing its content or describing his reason for the move on the article's talk page. Consequently, I moved it back. Now you have moved it to where he had put it, again without adding to the page's content and without discussing the move on the article's talk page or my own talk page. Can you please explain why you have done this? Now the content of the article and the title no longer match. If you think it is inappropriate for the article to only describe the views of a single author, I can only agree. But the solution here is not to misrepresent the content with an inaccurate title, it is to diversify the content of the article.

Radio interview?
As a long-time BC Wikipedian, would you be open to a radio interview? A talk show host for a Filipino program, based out of Vancouver, is asking for someone to interview via phone or internet, pre-taped. -- Zanimum (talk) 02:48, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Photo
It seems the photo you are trying to put on the page of Jiujiang is fake, please don't do it. Thank you Gweilo60 (talk) 12:05, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
:Hi {{Ping|Gweilo60}} can you please elaborate, in what way is this photo https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jiujiang_city.jpg ↗ fake? I have reviewed all photos in the Commons Category for Jiujiang ↗ https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Jiujiang ↗ and Jiujiang_city.jpg appears to be the best representative and most pertinent to the article's topic. If you feel this photo is doctored in some way or is fake by any other means, please advise and it may need to be removed from the Commons. I understand that you are attached to your photo https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jiujiang_Skyview.jpg ↗ but you have not addressed any of my previous comments or suggestions surrounding MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE ↗. You have also continually reverted edits without reaching consensus despite multiple warnings regarding WP:EDITWAR ↗. There should be no need for arbitration on such a trivial matter and I would again encourage reaching consensus before making edits. Should the previously discussed photo not be accepted, I have identified the following 4 images as the next best photos representing the article topic: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_City_of_Jiujiang.jpg ↗, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dusk_of_Jiujiang.jpg ↗, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jiujiang_02.jpg ↗, or https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_Night_Scene_of_Nanshan_Park.jpg ↗. None of these are great and have some issues with quality, lighting, and framing, but if you think there is one that best represents the topic, I can add this to the article. Alternatively, I understand that you may be connected to Jiujiang so the best outcome could be if you're able to take a high quality and pertinent image to represent the city! -NoGhost (talk) 02:04, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
::Hi {{Ping|NoGhost}}There are a few reasons I think you might not change it. The photo has been used for quite a long time and I think you are the only one want to change it?
::There is also no good substitute photo. I don't see any of the photos you mentioned above are genuine photos of Jiujiang. Maybe those photos shall all be removed.
::I don't really care if the original photo be changed. But I think the new photo should be genuine so can you please reach consensus before make any change?
::: {{Ping|Gweilo60}} I have tried explaining numerous times regarding MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE ↗ but it's becoming clear you're just looking for an excuse to peacock your own photo even though it does not even come close to representing the article topic. You have now claimed that somehow all photos in the Commons category https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Jiujiang ↗ are not "genuine" without any explanation. Please refrain from reverting until you have addressed the previously noted issues, and I would again encourage you to take a more topical photo of Jiujiang if you live in the area! If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. Gweilo60 (talk) 01:09, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
