Origins of Brahmi script are debated

Phoenician origin of Brahmi script is debated. Brahmi script#Origins ↗ Sarangem (talk) 07:03, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

:I'm aware of that. It's discussed in the article. It's not appropriate to add it to every infobox. <strong><span style="font-family: 'Segoe Script';"><span style="color: #a10;">Pepper</span><span style="color: #0c1;">Beast</span></span></strong> <span style="color: #200">(talk)</span> 12:29, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
::Wikipedia has no policy that tells content must not be repeated. If something is debated, it should be written everywhere to the topic related. By your logic, a reader might come to conclusion, that brahmi has confirmed phoenician origins. Sarangem (talk) 17:33, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
:::An infobox is unsuitable for nuance or detail ... ↗ <strong><span style="font-family: 'Segoe Script';"><span style="color: #a10;">Pepper</span><span style="color: #0c1;">Beast</span></span></strong> <span style="color: #200">(talk)</span> 17:42, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
::::1. "a piece of key specialised information may be placed in the infobox, but is difficult to integrate into the body text" - you cannot mention the origins of Brahmi script in body of its derived scripts thus in infobox.
::::2. Without "debated" word, it implies, it implies it is fully confirmed which is false.
::::3."generally avoid prose or prose-like statements"- it is just a simple word, and not a full description of why it is debated. Just like the infobox in Brahmi script ↗ and in Devanagari ↗, it is a simple word and concise to read. Sarangem (talk) 04:18, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
