Approaching edit-war
For the second time you have a removed an factual edit with no relevant basis. Please refrain from removing 'prince' from the title of Ivan Sergeyevich Obolensky ↗ or I will involve other parties in order to solve the dispute. Please look at http://russiannobility.org/2019/01/29/passing-of-ivan-sergeievich-obolensky/, which states he is a Prince. You have not provided any sources or basis to your claim that he cannot hold the title, which he does. Once again, please do not remove the title from his name. Eritrusia (talk) 22:26, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
::Please stop reinsert the 'Prince' title in his name. Your use of this society title "Prince" is on the basis of this source: http://russiannobility.org/2019/01/29/passing-of-ivan-sergeievich-obolensky/ a source which is not neutral... the Russian nobility association of course uses the title 'Prince' to announce the death of one of its member. Even if this courtesy title is genuine, unlike a surname, it cannot stand the time if legally attached to a legally abolished regime (unlike the British titles).
::Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(royalty_and_nobility)#Hypothetical,_dissolved_and_defunct_titles ↗ : Do not use hypothetical, dissolved or '''defunct titles, including pretenders (real or hypothetical), unless this is what the majority of reliable sources use.''' ::The cited source doesn't appear to be reliable - Plex ↗ doesn't clarify where the information in its 'Discover Credits' bios comes from, I looked over some ↗ posts ↗ from Plex support and they don't discuss their veracity. Plex is often used with web scrapers for its media library, so the information may be taken from IMDB, which is unreliable per WP:IMDB ↗. Sourcing standards for WP:DOB ↗ are stringent. Revert at Ivan Obolensky
Can you please explain your edit moving the first citation at the Ivan Obolensky article? It verifies more than just the dates, and so should (I think) be placed at the end of the sentence. Blueboar (talk) 00:19, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
:If it's simply a matter of placing the source at the end of the sentence, there's no problem with that. However, repeating the information that he died and repeating the date of death in the lead section is not very relevant, not to mention a mistake.
:So you can move the source to the end of this lead section if you wish.
:Best,

Do you know the difference, in the English language, between building types ''palace ↗'' and ''castle ↗''? The difference is vitally important when translating the names of relevant French, German and Scandinavian buildings. In those languages, there is no difference. They each use only one word for the two building types. SergeWoodzing (talk) 22:01, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
:Yes I do and you?
:"In those languages, there is no difference. They each use only one word for the two building types"... Excuse me???
:In French, a "''château''" is a castle and a "''palais''" is a palace... and a "''banane''" is a "banana" to paraphrase you!
:Have a good night!

::Yes, "Palais" is also in common use in French for a palace or any goverment building or even a hotel. "Château" is used for buildings that by definition are either a castle or a palace. These must be correctly identified in English as either or, by building type. Please answer my question! SergeWoodzing (talk) 23:25, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
:::Pfff... I understand what you're saying, but don't promote your subjective viewpoint or analysis based on a black and white photo postcard from the early 20th century, taken partially and from the side. Instead, rely on the indisputable elements of the reliable source you used, as well as Wikipedia's rules and guidelines (WP:PG ↗). Furthermore, for your information, the Château de Louvie now houses the Gabard school in the small rural Béarn town of Jurançon, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department. This building is not the seat of a public institution where power is exercised (e.g., a ministry) or the representation of a national institution (e.g., a national museum). To be clear, it is not a national building, which are the only ones in France to bear the name "palace" (''palais''), and which you have unilaterally interpreted based '''solely on your own senses'''. Therefore, your translation of Château Louvie as Louvie Palace on Wikipedia Commons seems '''highly questionable''' to me (cf. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Louvie_Palace_c_1910.jpg).
