Jon Sumrall
''Expected'' to be hired and actually hired are two different things. Until he have reliable sources ↗ that support him actually being hired, asserting that he has been hired is inaccurate. We can afford to be patient. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:57, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
:Respectfully, you sound out of your depth and you have no idea what you're talking about. ProfPatMcKelvey (talk) 17:16, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
::And you need to read WP:CIVIL ↗ and WP:NPA ↗. Comment on ''content'', not on the ''creator''. The citation you noted says "expected". It doesn't say he's been hired. Until you can find a citation that indicates he's actually been hired, then he hasn't been hired. Maybe that happens a minute from now, maybe it happens a day from now, maybe it doesn't happen at all. Asserting something that hasn't happened yet, according to reliable sources ↗, isn't how we work here. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:43, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
:I don't have the time to discuss the nuances of college athletics or sports journalism. However, when Pete Thamel of ESPN and Pete Nakos of On3 report something, it is good enough to pass muster for not only for reputable sports journalism publications, but also Wikipedia.
:It is just as easy for me to refer you to WP:HA because you have unilaterally decided that "we can afford to be patient". I am not sure what made Jon Sumrall the straw that broke the camels back but this is relatively standard practice for college coaching changes and Wikipedia. ProfPatMcKelvey (talk) 17:55, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
::If you believe I am harassing you because I am asking for reliable sources ↗ to support an actual hiring, as opposed to ''expected'' hiring, you are more than welcome to initiate a discussion at WP:AN/I ↗ requesting I be banned from the project. If you believe Thamel and Nakos are reliable (and I'm not disputing they are), then you should likewise believe that if they say ''expected'' as opposed to ''hired'', there's a reason they are choosing the words they have chosen. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:30, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
:::Will you please go WP:HA the person who made the most recent edit to Sumrall's page instead of following up with me? Thank you. ProfPatMcKelvey (talk) 19:10, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
::::Again, if you believe I am harassing you then please make a report at WP:AN/I ↗. Accusing me of harassment is a form of personal attack (see WP:AOHA ↗). Thus, I would encourage you to make such a report rather than continue to make such accusations without making a report. As for the edits, it's now confirmed by Florida (see this ↗) that the hiring has been made. I've added reliable citations to the article to that effect. All the best, --Hammersoft (talk) 19:14, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
:::::If only someone had posted an edit 2.5 hours ago that Sumrall was going to be hired by Florida and provided sources for their edits.
:::::Job well done and all the best. ProfPatMcKelvey (talk) 19:26, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Raskuly. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, :Alex Freeman ↗, but you didn't provide a reliable source ↗. :You are right. I accidentally copy/pasted the incorrect source over into the article. The information was correct, but I utilized the incorrect source article. I would revert the article with my change, but looks like someone beat me to the punch. ProfPatMcKelvey (talk) 04:12, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
