Question from Picklated (16:34, 13 June 2026)

Hi Victor!

I have a question about removing content. I made an edit on the article Jacob Misiorowski ↗ and I added a sentence about a noteworthy performance. After some time, someone wrote a very similar sentence, and later my original sentence was deleted. Is this something that normally happens? I just want to know if this happened because my edit was bad, since I'm still learning how to edit.

Picklated (talk) 16:34, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

:You have nothing to worry about, your edit was fine. Another editor found your sentence redundant so removed it. If you did something wrong somebody would usually let you know. If I failed to answer your question clearly enough, or you have any other questions please ask me. Have a great day - Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) In Solidarity ↗ 22:44, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
::I see. I was only confused on why somebody said my edit was redundant, because my edit was made first. I assume it was because the second edit was in a better place (or the editor didn't know what order the edits were made in). Thanks a lot for answering my question!

This is my Dad. He died 3 weeks ago ~2026-30911-74 ↗ (talk) 23:57, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

:I am truely sorry about the death of your father. However wikipedia requires information to be supported by a reliable source, this is to protect articles (like the one about your father) from misinformation, if you can find a reliable source for the death then the contribution is more than welcome. Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) In Solidarity ↗ 00:00, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
::Would you like to see his death certificate ~2026-30911-74 ↗ (talk) 00:01, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
:::No, it's preferable to have something like a website or newspaper that mentions his death, something like a obituary or the like. Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) In Solidarity ↗ 00:02, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
::::If Wikipedia is so concerned about facts and misinformation - how do you know he is dead? The user ORAS186 who updated the page with his death date - where is his source from? ~2026-30911-74 ↗ (talk) 00:07, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

That account shouldn't have added that either. Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) In Solidarity ↗ 00:09, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
::::::So my Dad died, it wasn’t in the newspaper, it wasn’t on the the internet, he didn’t have an obituary because there was no funeral. He had a direct cremation. I have no electronic data, just a certified death certificate from Liverpool city registrar/coroner’s office showing date of death and cause of death. But that isn’t good enough proof to update Wikipedia? So the page will just state that he hasn’t died? Is this correct? ~2026-30911-74 ↗ (talk) 00:18, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::::The death certificate cannot be used as evidence as a death, so no unless there a source that backs this claim it cannot be in the article. Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) In Solidarity ↗ 00:27, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
::::::::Can you explain why a death certificate cannot be used as evidence that someone has died? Therefore Wikipedia is displaying misleading information on its website. Having no date of death is misleading people to believe my Dad is still alive. I am offering a legal document to prove my Dad is dead, but that’s not acceptable to Wikipedia unless I list his death in a newspaper?? ~2026-30911-74 ↗ (talk) 00:33, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::A death certificate does not meet wikipedias source requirements, I do belive you that your father died. wikipedia policy, however, requires secondary sourcing, neither you nor the certificate meet the requirements. Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) In Solidarity ↗ 00:37, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Eva Butler (23:08, 18 June 2026)

Hello, I just created a new addition for the CT museum listings but I am not sure IF it got published - can you check and see ? FYI - I am a newbie and our museum is only open on Tues & Thurs 10 - 4, as to monitor and reply. I also plan to add a new listing to the CT Historical Societies list ( dba as OMHC) and maybe list of historic buildings. I also want to know the proper place to add website links. --Eva Butler (talk) 23:08, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

:Okay, I have a few things for you. Firstly, the edit did go through, the only reason why it wouldn't is if the page is protected. Secondly, if the website is not being used as a reference it goes in a external links section at the bottom of the article, though there are rules about what links can be included. In addition to your questions I have two other pieces of information for you, the table you added is not very well formatted with just a empty table with only headings, I'm not sure what you were trying to acomplish there. The other piece of information I have for you is that you seem to have a conflict of intrest, we (Wikipedia) have rules about that, for a simplified version of those rules see WP:COIE ↗. If you have any questions about this or anything thing else feel free to ask me or the people at places wp:tea ↗. Happy editing - Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) In Solidarity ↗ 23:20, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks for quick reply - I am still here at museum but leaving very soon. I was expecting that the new listing would be published after I logged out ? I thought that using the table might be the way to create the new addition as there was an empty one there which I filled out - how and where else would my info get to be inserted ? I am thinking this conflict of interest is likely because we actually are a museum and a historical society and a genealogy library and a research library and a exhibit gallery and in a historic building ALL rolled into one ! ! We are originally incorporated and still legally the I C R C but now Doing Business As - Old Mystic History Center - We have a website for both the old and the new names only because the new OMHC website can NOT host our searchable database, still ON the old ICRC website which is a necessary feature for internet / remote searches, AND the Genealogy Register ! Nothing is simple anymore. Thanks for your help and guidance - much appreciated - signing out now. Eva Butler (talk) 23:49, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

::::I fixed the links and also about the paragraphs with one link are the ESWD Akçamezra Tornado's Report Link also it is QC1 so it is ideal and also ESWD is stated to be the primary source about the tornadoes on Europe StormL00ver (talk) 18:33, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from Qnani (14:33, 8 July 2026)

Hallo can I translate different topics except for editing mistakes? --Qnani (talk) 14:33, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

:When translating you shouldn't include mistakes from the previous version, but its recommended that you get experience with whatever Wikipedia you're translating into first, so you don't violate guidlines. Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) In Solidarity ↗ 18:58, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
