Notes sections in Formula One race articles
Hi Sam11333. Thanks for your recent contributions to several Formula One race report articles. However, a recent discussion ↗ at the Formula One WikiProject ↗ decided that information such as "first race for driver X", "last pole position for constructor Y", etc should be included in the article prose, rather than separated out into a separate section. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line at my talk page. Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 02:12, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Henrik Szabo ↗

A tag has been placed on :Henrik Szabo ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable ↗.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here ↗. <!-- Template:Db-notability-notice --> <!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> JetBlast (talk) 19:35, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Eamonn Collins ↗
I have reverted your last edit for various reasons. Firstly, you need a source for the statement that "he made 122 appearances and scored 11 goals over three seasons at the club". The Colchester United player profile ↗ says that he scored 9 goals and played 128 games. Why the difference?
As for the infobox, this should only show LEAGUE matches and goals. Whatever is the correct number of matches played, this will undoubtedly include cup matches. The profile indicates that he played in the FA Trophy, the Bob Lord Trophy, the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Associate Members Cup, all of which need to be excluded. Only Football League and Conference matches count. Best wishes. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 05:14, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

Fight infobox
Do not put flags on infobox. This is per WP:INFOBOXFLAG ↗. For nicknames, only use quotations when it’s non-english i.e. ''54 Milagros'' ("54 Miracles"). As for formatting in the recognition field, use small letters except for sanctioning bodies i.e. WBA heavyweight champion instead of WBA Heavyweight Champion. This format is followed for both lead section and professional boxing record per MOS:BOXING ↗. BlizzyBlizz (talk) 07:41, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

Notional results ARE confusing and inconsistent
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello! I'm LawNerd123. Your recent edit(s) appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been reverted ↗ for now. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite a reliable source ↗ or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-error1 -->
You appear to be insistent on adding mathematically impossible information which is not reflective of boundary changes or new seats. Wikipedia does not add notional results to individual pages. it has a dedicated section of a larger page for that here ↗ and if you wish to link to the specific seat on that page with a see also feel free. Otherwise you are removing article consistency. not using the correct result, which should be New seat or boundary changes, not some phony gain or loss. This is especially clear in some seats created from up to 5 other seats. Please refrain from adding confusing and not representative malformation or reverting to your preferred version which creates a false impression of the seats being the same as previous or some new seat somehow can be a gain or a loss. What next Wikipedia goes back to the creation of the Welsh Assembly and doesn't list the very first time a seat is contested as a loos or a gain, that is absurd. There is no actual way of knowing how a new seat would have voted or how new boundaries would have voted. I know you will pivot to the two academics, but that is just that two academics. They have been doing that for years and Wikipedia does not inclusive their notional results previously and cannot start now, as the notional is just confusing, along with adding it now looks like there has never been a notional result before. That is not an invitation to add as that would be using Wikipedia to make a point and inappropriate. The linking to the notional, as a see also at the top and avoid creating confusion is the way forwards as a compromise. The local context argument is bunkum as inapplicable as it is overridden by the sheer confusion created by the notional results which are not wholesale included before this years results. LawNerd123 (talk) 17:25, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
:I appreciate your point of view, however I strongly disagree with you. The estimated notional results I believe are vital to providing context, especially with new seats.
:I have raised the issue with the WikiProject ↗ in the hope of finding a consensus. Sam11333 (talk) 18:02, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
::This is solved with a see also link
::Also the notional results from previous boundary reviews are not included on Wikipedia and it is inconsistent and confusing to start now unless of course you want to go all the way back tot he first periodic review and add the notional results from then. Which in my opinion would be completely and utterly absurd. If you want to desperately add the information add it in the main text, the so called results tables are just misleading and confusing and create a nonsense of new seats never fought before with a change in vote share, which is the definition of complete absurdity. LawNerd123 (talk) 18:12, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
Please do better on local government leader and their seats
How is "the leaders of pollical groupings are sufficiently important to warrant including" in anyway nothing but an assertion with out evidence or proof?
Most of these people are not even confirmed to be party leader especially when it is just one seat that is held. There must be reliable notable and verifiable sourcing that beyond being locally notable to a couple of political hacks, the inclusion is actually notable more widely. LawNerd123 (talk) 18:19, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
:I shall take the lack of reply to be one of concession. Thank you LawNerd123 (talk) 21:15, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
::You may not. Sam11333 (talk) 21:25, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
:::You got any reply or just stonewalling? LawNerd123 (talk) 00:47, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
::::The leaders have been reliabily sourced and provide important context. Its removal would not benefit the article at all. Sam11333 (talk) 09:18, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
:::::They do not for the minor parties, also leader of the group doe not necessarily mean leader of the local party. It is also a nonsense to list a single seat for a party as the only seat holder being the party leader. Where are these so called reliable sources, and is the information more than nice cruft? The "Its removal would not benefit the article at all" argument flips the burden for inclusion on its head, what is the benefit of inclusion...currently I see none. That argument would allow any minor detail to be included which is not encyclopedic. LawNerd123 (talk) 20:14, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
Boxing
Greetings. As we're going back and forth a bit on Carl Froch vs. George Groves ↗, I'd like to point out a few errors you're making:
- Flagicons should not be in infoboxes, per MOS:INFOBOXFLAG ↗ and MOS:WORDPRECEDENCE ↗. Same goes for the ''Broadcasting'' section.
- Weight classes are not proper nouns, per MOS:CAPS ↗ and MOS:TITLE ↗; see MOS:BOXING/WEIGHT ↗ as it relates to the sport.
- Froch and Groves should not be in bold with links, per MOS:BOLDLEAD ↗.
- Section headings should not begin with "The". I forget the MOS on this, but it was pointed out to me during a GA assessment, so they knew their stuff.
- Specifying anything beyond city and country (Hammersmith, counties, etc.) is unnecessary. Again it's mentioned on an MOS somewhere, but I forget where. ''City, country'' is sufficient.
- In the succession box, subsequent fights are ''after'' and not succeeded by.
- Who cares about TBRB rankings in a cramped infobox? Let's list ESPN, BoxRec, and ''Boxing News'' as well while we're at it..
- Non-breaking spaces – {{tl|nbsp}} – are necessary when using the term "No."
:Unfortunately you're still ↗ making these mistakes. I will correct them accordingly whenever I see them. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 18:48, 13 September 2024 (UTC)

2001 Suffolk County Council election map
Hi there,
I saw that you uploaded a division map of the 2001 Suffolk County Council election results earlier this year. I was wondering where you were able to find a pre-2005 version of the county division boundaries. I haven't been able to find old county division boundary files anywhere!
Thanks. Into oblivion (talk) 14:05, 17 September 2024 (UTC)

Versus
Hi, thank you for your contributions. I note your recent edits to boxing-related articles and the abbreviation for "versus".
Note that in British English, "vs" (no dot) is used, whereas American English uses "vs." https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/v_1 ↗https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/american_english/v_4 ↗ Per WP:RETAIN ↗, British spelling should be kept where its usage in the article is already established.
I therefore urge you to self-revert these edits and pagemoves. 162 etc. (talk) 17:43, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
:Hi, those changes are important to bring all boxing articles in line with article naming conventions. Sam11333 (talk) 17:45, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
::What you are doing is directly contradicting WP:MOS ↗.
::What article naming conventions are you referring to? 162 etc. (talk) 21:11, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
:::This discussion ↗ might be worth reading: ''[...] there is no consensus to replace vs. with vs in boxing match titles.'' Mac Dreamstate (talk) 00:47, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
::::Thank you. So there is no local consensus at WP:BOXING ↗ to change these, and sitewide consensus is to WP:RETAIN ↗ the original spelling.

WBA/minor/major titles
Greetings. I implore you to seek consensus at WikiProject Boxing ↗ first before making these bulk changes. This could affect a lot of articles and I've seen no discussion about this so far. The labelling of the WBA's various titles (Super/Regular/Unified/Undisputed, etc.) is not straightforward in the slightest, so please let's discuss first. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 19:20, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

Lineal titles
Greetings Sam. There was an RfC ↗ a while ago on not including lineal titles in succession boxes, as you've started doing. Hope that clarifies things on why I've been reverting those edits. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 20:44, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
:Also, why do you never answer anyone at this talk page? You're still listing section headings as "The fight", with an article ↗, which goes against MOS:AT ↗. You're listing locations as "[city], UK" instead of "[city], England", which is pointless. And you're de-linking the actual subjects of fight articles—the boxers themselves—from the infobox. Like, shtaap? Mac Dreamstate (talk) 20:57, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
::Hi there, sorry I haven't replied to your comments. With regards to the "[city], England" point as England is an administrative area not an sovereign country it makes no sense to use it rather than UK, it would be like using Brooklyn, New York rather than Brooklyn, New York, U.S..
::As for including lineal titles in succession, I would argue that they should be used when a boxer holds the lineal title but not a corresponding major title belt, as a way of demonstrating the occasions when a boxer was seen the true champion in a weight class but lacked a belt (ie Naseem Hamed before his loss to Barrera) but I do accept that it can be sometimes an unclear concept to quantify. Sam11333 (talk) 21:29, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
:::I appreciate the response.
:::Unclear.. unverifiable.. subjective.. intangible. All words that apply to lineal titles. Prior to the RfC, extensive discussion was held ↗. Ultimately, they simply cannot be listed in areas such as record tables and succession boxes which display factual information—something which lineals have never been or ever will be. WP:V ↗, WP:POV ↗ and WP:OR ↗ all apply.
:::England/UK is a perennial ↗ topic, but I nonetheless disagree with your application of them, particularly the overlinking ↗. You'll also find that the overwhelming majority of British sportspersons' infoboxes (try any one of them: snooker, football, Formula 1, tennis) use England/Scotland/Wales/NI instead of UK. Comparing the terminology of US/UK doesn't work, as they're not equivalent. People are frequently referred to as being from England as in the country, but not just New York the state. Usyk vs Dubois II
I'm curious, why did you remove the following from the introduction?
{{quote|After the fight, which meant Usyk had now defeated each of Anthony Joshua ↗, Tyson Fury ↗ and Daniel Dubois twice, on top of his previous unification of the cruiserweight division and Olympic gold medal for Ukraine, Usyk was described as the greatest heavyweight boxer of his generation, with comparisons of Usyk to the all time greatest in the sport, notably Muhammad Ali ↗.}}
It's well sourced in the main article, and is surely one of the most relevant things to say about the fight. Morning's Bloom (talk) 12:57, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
:I only removed it as I felt that the introduction was already too long and that it belonged in the aftermath section of the page. Sam11333 (talk) 14:51, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
::Well if you don't mind I'll restore s shortened version. But bear in mind, for a decent sized article, four paragraphs is deemed appropriate for an introduction (so we're looking at three here at least). Morning's Bloom (talk) 15:00, 26 July 2025 (UTC)

The location you copied it from needs to be linked for attribution ↗ purposes. I hope you're also aware that the editor who created the old article, {{no ping|Morning's Bloom}}, is the sock of a banned editor, which is the whole reason the article was deleted to begin with. Zeibgeist (talk) 17:21, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
:The content was emailed to me by User:Black Kite after I requested a undeletion of the previous verison of the page (being unaware of the sockpuppet issue at the time). Sam11333 (talk) 17:27, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
::Thanks, I noticed the thread at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion ↗ shortly after leaving the message. We can centralize discussion there. Zeibgeist (talk) 17:34, 1 August 2025 (UTC)

Please use edit summaries when updating articles
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia ↗. I noticed that one or more recent edits you made did not have an edit summary ↗. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary ↗, or by discussion on the talk page ↗. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief ↗.
The edit summary field looks like this:
{{Edit summary field/OOUI}}
or in the visual editor:
{{Edit summary field/VisualEditor}}
{{strong|Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make.}} When logged in to your Wikipedia account ↗, you can give yourself a reminder by setting {{myprefs|3|check={{int:tog-forceeditsummary}}}}, and then click the "{{int:saveprefs}}" button.

Plagiarism on Tavistock South railway station
Hi, Sam11333. I'm not going to leave you a templated warning about copying material from other Wikipedia articles; you've had three of those. Yesterday, on Tavistock South railway station ↗, you created this article by copying large amount of material from South Devon and Tavistock Railway ↗. You did not tell anybody else you did that. That is not okay - it's both plagiarism ↗ and likely copyright ↗ infringement. I've fixed the attribution for you on Tavistock, but you should not do anything like that every again, thank you. <span style="color:#EB0533;">GreenLipstickLesbian</span>💌 ↗🦋 ↗ 20:39, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. I have noticed that you {{usertalk other|often ↗|often}} edit without using an edit summary ↗. Please do your best to {{strong|always fill in the summary field}}. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Better source request for :File:Muhammad Ali vs. Mac Foster.jpg ↗
Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:
You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright ↗ status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the ''exact'' source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following <span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:Special:Log|type=upload&user={{BASEPAGENAMEE}}}} this link]</span>. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:Bsr-user --> — Ирука13 ↗ 14:46, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

You've been warned several times about your edits to the infoboxes on boxing articles, the flags, the quotation marks, the de-linking of the fighters names and of course your inclusion of "UK" when you were told that MOS clearly states "(city), England." If you make another one of these changes, I'm reporting you. Not that I want to, but you can only be warned so many times. Beast from da East (talk) 22:17, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
