Wikipedia and copyright

30px|link=|alt=Control copyright icon ↗ Hello Sevenoaks27, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to :Malcolm Airs ↗ have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain ↗ or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible ↗ copyright license. H Stirling Gahan ↗ moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, H Stirling Gahan ↗, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable ↗, independent sources ↗. <small>(? ↗)</small> Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability ↗ is of central importance ↗ on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace ↗ (with a prefix of "<code>Draft:</code>" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline ↗ and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:H Stirling Gahan ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

Hello, Sevenoaks27. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation ↗ submission or Draft ↗ page you started, "H Stirling Gahan ↗".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace ↗, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply {{edit|Draft:H Stirling Gahan|edit the submission}} and remove the {{tlc|db-afc}}, {{tlc|db-draft}}, or {{tlc|db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link ↗. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! <!-- Template:Db-draft-notice --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> UnitedStatesian (talk) 04:43, 27 December 2020 (UTC)

Important advice

When writing, never copy text straight from a source. For example, at Mohammed Saddiq ↗, {{tq|Mohammed is also the deputy chair of the University of Bristol Board of Trustees, independent chair of the Bristol Green Capital Partnership CIC, trustee at Penny Brohn Cancer Care, vice chair at Montpellier High School, non-executive director at Industrial Phycology and a former board member at the Local Enterprise Partnership}} is exactly what is found in https://www.merchantventurers.com/news/mohammed-saddiq-appointed-hm-lord-lieutenant-of-the-county-of-somerset/ ↗. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on copyrights ↗. Thanks. Ovinus (talk) 03:38, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Categories

Please note that all categories must always be filed as subcategories of other parent categories, and must never just be created as blank pages with no other categories on them. I note that you've recently created a couple dozen blank categories without any parent categories — so if you're going to continue to create categories, you need to either ensure that any category you create is already in appropriate parent categories right off the bat, or don't create categories at all if you can't be bothered to take that extra step, because doing that just causes extra work for other editors to fix it. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 15:29, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

:Thanks, I am a Wikipedia novice so I am not really sure what you mean. I am creating a category where there is not an existing one and then making sure there are pages that relate to that category ... seems that's the wrong thing to do? Sevenoaks27 (talk) 21:51, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
