Wikipedia and copyright
30px|link=|alt=Control copyright icon ↗ Hello Sonic5421, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to :Thomas & Friends: The Great Race ↗ has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission ↗ from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a ''small'' amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation mark ↗s (") and cite the source using an inline citation ↗. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content ↗ in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners ↗, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information ''in your own words and structure'', in proper paraphrase ↗. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems ↗, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing ↗. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue ↗.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify ↗ information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research ↗.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights ↗. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste ↗.
- If ''you'' own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you ''may'' be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗.
- In ''very rare cases'' (that is, for sources that are public domain ↗ or compatibly licensed ↗), it ''may'' be possible to include greater portions of a source text. ''However'', please seek help at the help desk ↗ before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources ''may not'' be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you ''do'' confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism ↗ for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia ↗.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked ↗ from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!--Template:uw-copyright-new--> <span style="color:#D70270;background-color:white;">Sum</span><span style="color:#734F96;background-color:white;">mer</span><span style="color:#0038A8;background-color:white;">PhD</span>v2.0 03:17, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
Thank you, and I appreciate the information regarding what I did was wrong and not properly cited. I'll avoid doing something like this again in the future, but I would appreciate if any users can provide the necessary information for the plot for ''Thomas & Friends: The Great Race'' in little bits to avoid a repetition like this later on.
Again, thanks and sorry for any problems I might have caused with my editing. Sonic5421 (talk) 04:36, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
700-word limit on plot section
Regarding ''Thomas & Friends: The Great Race ↗'', please read the guideline at WP:FILMPLOT ↗ which sets an upper limit on plot size. If you can rewrite the plot to be only 700 words that would be great. Excessive detail is not good for Wikipedia; it keeps the reader from finishing the article—stops them from getting all the way through. Summarize the main points.
I use an online word count tool to keep track. There are several available... Try https://wordcounter.net/ ↗ and see how that goes. Binksternet (talk) 00:00, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. I'll look it over and see if there's anything I can summarize to cut down on words so there's not as many as before. I can't guarantee I'll be able to do so myself since I might be unsure what to summarize. Sonic5421 (talk) 00:09, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

:Apologies for that, I learned of that detail from various video sources on YouTube regarding the Blue Angels using Fat Albert to transport Captain Kuss' remains home to Dover AFB before returning him to NAS Pensacola for burial. If you wanted me to cite the YouTube sources, let me know before I edit it again. Sonic5421 (talk) 22:53, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

Draft:To Where and Back Again ↗ concern
Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:To Where and Back Again ↗, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.
If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.
You may request Userfication ↗ of the content if it meets requirements.
If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13 ↗.
Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 21:15, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
plot description
Please note that multiple changes of wording to plot descriptions are '''not''' minor. You should try to be more accurate in describing the editing you do, as at Babe (film) ↗. In any case, plots are meant to be brief and don't need to be filled with the kind of unnecessary detail you seem to favour. I note that you have already been told to acquaint yourself with guidelines on this. I hope you will do so. Mzilikazi1939 (talk) 12:15, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
Sorry about that. I'll try to be more general and less discrete in future edits so I don't add so much detail like before. Appreciate the advice. Thanks. Sonic5421 (talk) 12:58, 26 September 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 12
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Guard ↗ ([//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dablinks.py/Halloween_5:_The_Revenge_of_Michael_Myers check to confirm] | [//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dab_solver.py/Halloween_5:_The_Revenge_of_Michael_Myers?client=notify fix with Dab solver]). Hi - your choice of wording in your recent edit of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramstein_Air_Base sounds strange.
Particularly things like: ''were given food, shelter, recreation, and '''many other things that they had enjoyed in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan thanks to the U.S. and NATO'''''.
Please keep your edits concise, your wording factual, in a matter-of-fact encyclopedic style and avoid subtly opinionated choice of words. Especially in matters that concern politics.
:Sorry about that. I was adding that info because of recent video I saw of Afghan refugees and how they were adapting to life outside their homeland after fleeing it to escape the Taliban, and when I saw how they were living at Ramstein while waiting to be given their visas/passports to enter the USA, I was impressed how NATO forces were taking good care of them, especially the children, since they could never return home to Afghanistan because of fear of prosecution or execution by the Taliban. Next time, I will make sure to cite my sources. Sonic5421 (talk) 14:34, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
::While citing a WP:RS ↗ is of course necessary, I believe the above anonIP's comments were more centered around WP:NPOV ↗ and especially WP:PUFFERY ↗ and WP:COMMENTARY ↗. WP is supposed to be a factual resource, not interpretive opinions and editorializing. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 16:28, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
:::Again, my apologies. I should've cited my sources from several YouTube channels I saw video of what I added to the article on, such as Al Jazeera English, BBC, CNN, and the Armed Forces Channel I believe is my last source. If you wish to remove my edit, go ahead, but if you just want to add the references, just look the videos up on YouTube along with the corresponding channels to ensure accuracy. :Thank you for letting me know my draft had been deleted due to lack of activity and editing on it in the last several months. I thought for sure I had edited it recently, but I must have forgotten due to being focused on other issues at the time. I'll follow the steps to request a restore of my draft and try to edit it more often. Again, thanks for letting me know about its removal from the draft/Articles for Creation section of the site. Hello, Sonic5421. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation ↗ submission or draft ↗ page you started, "To Where and Back Again ↗".

: That's strange...I saw that the draft had apparently been deleted already several months earlier. I sent in a request about it and never heard a reply back about having it restored so I could continue to try and work on it before submitting it again. I appreciate letting me know officially that it had been removed from the draft section of Wikipedia and erased from the database. I'll try to recreate it in the future unless another member of the My Little Pony Brony Community submits another variant with better detail and references in it since my draft lacked much in terms of reference information and I had not provided much to accommodate it. I'll also look into the Request for Un-Deletion form to see if I can recover it with the Wikipedia Admins' support that way. Thanks again for letting me know. Appreciate it very much. Las Cruces Police Department Article
I edited out much of the detail you added to this article. While a section on the death of Officer Hernandez is absolutely appropriate, it doesn't need to be 1,000+ words. Per wikipedia rules, articles should not contain too much unnecessary information and should be concise and easy to read. The section on Hernandez took up roughly 2/3 of the entire article.MaximumMadness2 (talk) 05:21, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
:Apologies for that. I'm a bit of a person that likes to delve into detail with the information, so I'm sorry for going overboard as I did. I learned about Officer Jonah Hernandez after seeing the footage from the YouTube channel Midwest Safety regarding it, and that's why I went into detail as I did with him being the first officer for the Las Cruces Police Department to be KILOD in its history. I'll try to do my best in the future to simplify the info next time I do any editing to an article here on Wikipedia. Sonic5421 (talk) 12:42, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
::No problem at all. :) I understand that compulsion, and I used to write too much detail as well on my old account. And that's actually the same video I watched last night where I heard about it. (And why I stumbled across the article when I Googled to see if there were any updates.) I mostly just wanted to give you a heads-up. MaximumMadness2 (talk) 13:50, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
:::Okay, thanks. Also, yeah, Midwest Safety posts a lot of videos regarding previous incidents involving police. They recently posted a video with the body cam and dash cam footage from the crash of UPS Airlines Flight 2976 back in November 2025, along with what was released regarding the crash seen from that junkyard by the airport and from that trucker's dash cam as he saw the crash right in front of him and instinctively ran for his life with his co-workers because of the inferno from the aviation fuel and the plane having hit a petroleum recycling plant, adding more fuel to the fire because of all the fuel there. :I apologize for that. I thought that mentioning the specific YouTube channel in the details would be enough, but I always forget that a reference tag is still needed to help pinpoint the source of the information provided. If it helps, I did mention it was the Midwest Safety YouTube channel, and the video of the Grand Blanc Township church attack is one of their more recent videos posted there. About 5 days old so far. I hope that helps for the source/reference tag. Sonic5421 (talk) 22:58, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

:::What about the specific video if I provide the page title and link for it? Sonic5421 (talk) 05:27, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
::::Looking at the YouTube channel, there is no indication that Midwest Safety belongs to a reliable source. If you could locate the same information from reliable sources, many of which can be found at WP:RSPLIST ↗, you could reinsert the information back into the article (cited ↗ of course). <span style="background-color: orange;color:black;">'''<span style="color:#FFFFFF">Raskuly</span>''' 🐰</span>{{Main other|{{Ensure AAA contrast ratio|base=orange|other='''<span style="color:#FFFFFF">Raskuly</span>''' 🐰|category=Category:Pages using Template:Background color with invalid color combination ↗}}}}{{Template other|{{Ensure AAA contrast ratio|base=orange|other='''<span style="color:#FFFFFF">Raskuly</span>''' 🐰|category=Category:Pages using Template:Background color with invalid color combination ↗}}}} 07:08, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
:::::Okay, thanks for the advice. If I can't do that, I'll leave the article alone from now on. Sonic5421 (talk) 16:12, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

:Apologies for that. I'm only adding simple information now that is to the point and not deeply detailed, but if I still need source references to verify the info so it will be kept in the article, I'll stop and let other users handle that detail from now on since they'll have better sources than what I can work with.
